VERY good exp farm spot for WoD bodyguards

I'm at 96/100 exalted factions and I need to level up 2 WoD bodyguards
so I'm 98/100.

Locate Tomb of Lights in Talador on your map, fly to 58,5 65,2, and go
down. When your at lowest level you can go forward, right or left. Go
into the left room where you can see two portals spawning mobs. Nuke
them. They insta-spawn from the portals and you keep nuking the groups.

Best farm spots I've found. Other wellknown farm spots got nerfed back
in WoD.

I've long given up on expending time in the game to get money. First of
all, money accumulates really fast and if I were to run out, 200 gold is
worth 1 penny. Even at minimum wage, my time is worth about 100,000 gold
per hour. I can spend $20 and get more than 100,000 gold if I'm
desperate.

I had a friend who bought the spider mount. I tried to point out to him
that he spend enough gold to pay his WoW subscription for over two years
(at the time), but de was incapable of understanding he'd spend $300 on
a mount because it was "only gold".

Just as a word of warning: I'm fairly sure bodyguards, farming
friends, fishing friends etc don't count towards X exalted factions
achievements, so if that's your objective, it might not help!

That's what held me back from the brutosaur for some time, however
evetually I decided I did want it (it helped to know it'd go away so
no, I couldn't just get it later when inflation meant it'd be worth
less in terms of subscription months).

That said, gold earned ingame doesn't feel like "real" money to me,
especially as, if I'm already subbed for many months to come,
extending the date by a bit more doesn't really feel like it has
tangible value. It's a handy way to justify to myself shop purchases
though, where I might not be so big on spending £10 for a pet, buying
a month's sub with gold to pay it back then effectively converts it to
a gold price which is easier to compare with pets I could buy ingame.

At least it didn't take long :-) I think I did all the bodyguards but
still haven't managed to face the fishing friends from Legion; they
didn't count for achievements and doing it in a raid felt like
cheating, so yeah, one day I might get around to it when I'm in a
fishing mood!

Think I have everything else possible exalted, except for PvP
factions; I have AV and AB but not WSG and definitely not those which
require using an item to be flagged for free-for-all pvp, no way lol.
Possibly one day if I am REALLY bored I may do them, in a super quiet
spot, with an alt on my 2nd account... possibly. I'd have to be really
bored or really desperate though lol ;-)

Yesterday I realized I can still do the brawl season 2. No mount reward
though. I'm sitting at 96/100 exalted and should hit 99/100 within the
next 2 weeks.
I'm almost revered with the molten core faction. But ~1100 rep per
weekly run it will take me 20 weeks to finish that. I will be exalted
with 2-3 new factions in SL before I'm done with MC.
The factions in the Steamwheedle Cartel... I'm not sure I will check
the rep farm guides on those. :)

I got the bodyguard reps jut by questing, iirc. For fishing the only one
I did was in Pandamania to get the skitter (that Blizzard completely
fucked over in WoW 8). I remember having to get Nat to a certain level,
but I don't think it was maxed out?

The only BG I have, IIRC, is AV. WSG is a nightmare to get and takes
thousands of matches (or it did) and ever WSG match is an exercise in
frustration and abject stupidity. It's amazing how many fools think the
point is to gather in the center and "get honor" by just having a
pointless melee until the timer expires. Thankfully, they finally added
a timer.

I remember multi-hour 0-0 WSG matches.

I got all the reps in Legion except Chromie, all the reps in WOD, and all
but one in Cata (Hijal) I never finished as running the Raid once a week
was boring). IN Pandamania, I never bothered with the Assault-ish reps the
Timeless island reps (Emperor something). I have everything in Lich King
except the tribe in the basin, and all the Burning Crusade reps.

If I were playing I could finish Hyjal, as I only need about 10-12K rep
to finish, but the rep drops significantly when I got to exalted, as I
recall with you getting rep only from the bosses and a few mini boss
mobs. Getting 12K would take about six weeks since you can only do the
raid weekly. Molten Core rep, OTOH, takes freaking forever and only the
bosses give rep and you're looking at many months to get through
revered.

Some Raids are not really possible to do solo (AQ Twins used to be
possible for a hunter, but then WoW broke pets, again) but I am pretty
sure I managed to finish those.

I am missing many WoW 1.0 reps. Maybe as many as 10? Not sure they are
all possible (For example, I think the brawl seasons still show up, but
I don't think you can get them).

I don't know off hand what my total was, but it was over 80 and less
than 100.

Lots of killing pirates, I think :-) If you ever intend to do
Bloodsail, do it *first* or you'll regret it lol... guess who didn't

Think it was Anglers exalted but can't recall entirely, mostly did a
lot of dailies for that one.Legion added a bunch of fishing reppeople
with toys and stuff but I didn't fancy spending that long fishing; I
liked it in the past but these days I prefer slightly faster
activities...

Yep! I only really pvped much in TBC and it was my least favourite BG
then, way too boring when everyone ignored the flags and piled into
the middle. I gather there's a "brawl" based in WSG which makes the
rep lesspainful to gain but I never got around to trying it yet. I did
like the AB brawl, that was fast rep vs AI instead of players, got
exalted really quickly the week I did that one.

Yeah MC is a nightmare, other raid related ones are tedious but that
one is really slow. At least both it and Hyjal are fairly fast to get
through now it's in oneshot territory, the worst thing is waiting for
the mobs to spawn in Hyjal, and chasing them around the place
(especially getting the ranged ones if you're melee, with cooldowns on
your ranged abilities...)

Heh, I don't recall AQ Twins being that bad, perhaps I did it more
recently when character power makes it easy to bruteforce it. Or
perhaps I didn't solo it, can't really remember now! Blizz are mostly
good at fixing unsoloable mechanics in older raids these days,
thankfully; they realised that transmog means people are going to want
to solo and it's not fair to punish certain classes. The worst one I
recall for ages was the green dragon in Icecrown, who you had to
*heal* to win the encounter... I believe bandages did work for
non-healer classes (I was soloing on a priest so didn't have to deal
with it) but still, what a nightmare, think that got fixed more
recently though.

I think I'm at 103 or 104 by now, not 100% sure but I know it was one
of the 8.0 reps which got me the achievement and I've done AB and
later added reps since then. I think there's really only pvp and
fishing related reps left for me, and the fishing ones (except
Anglers) don't count to the achievement anyway.

Unless it is changed you cannot damage the Twins unless they are
separated. You used to be able to send your pet to hold one, while you
killed the other, but Wow decided pets would always attack your target,
so it became impossible.

I got stuck on the ship, but there is a strategy that makes the ship
possible (ignore the axe throwers until you jump across) that evidently
makes it trivial, but I haven't tried it. It's a long grind to get to a
1.2% drop off the Lich King :)

Also, I could never solo Deathwing. I never figured out how to complete
the 'back' stage.

I know for certain I did not get rustbolt in WoW 8 since I hearthed off
the island and never returned the instant I got flying.

and something else having to do with the corruption mechanism? I
forget, I'd largely checked out by then.

Ah yeah, looked it up and they heal each other, nowadays you can just
oneshot them on the pull before theystartwith the healing, I guess I
did it late enough that that was the option then. As for the pets, it
should work if you set the pet to passive and manually tell it to
attack then change your own target? Might not, I haven't played pet
classes a lot since they changed it.

Urgh I HATE that fight. It's reliably doable with the right tactics
but such a pain, and so easy to screw up. Basically, kill a tentacle
and park yourself in the spot the tentacle was at (it glus you to the
back while you're on the spot, so Deathwing rolling can't throw you to
your death), and afk a while till a decent number of slimes spawn
(10+).

Kite the pile of slimes next to the plate (and check you're going
towards Deathwing's head, not his tail, got that one wrong a few times
as it looks the same unless you play with the camera angle to check),
aoe the mobs plus kill a tentacle so elemental guy spawns, kite ele
through the slimes' corpses till his portrait has a counter of 9 on
it, then kill him next to the plate. While running from left side to
right side constantly to not have Deathwing roll on you.

At that point if you've managed to kill the ele in the right spot
*and* not get thrown off Deathwing's back, the plate should lift and
there's a tendon holding it down - quickly target and kill that.
Probably a good idea to run to a tentacle spot to glue yourself down
again while the ele is exploding. Then rinse and repeat twice more,
and eventually you'll kill the thing.

My early goes I tended to hit the enrage timer due to too many
screwups, losing my buffed ele to rolls or exploding him in the wrong
spot, else I'd get thrown off myself and wipe, I got better with
practice but it is the worst fight out there solo. With 2 people, it
becomes easy: one stand on each side and stay there!

Yeah, Rustbolt and the Nazjatar reps from 8.1, then the bee rep
(Alliance only), and Uldum and Pandaria reps with N'Zoth invasions.
Actually I'm not 100% sure I got exalted with both the NZoth reps, I
imagine I must have (I definitely maxed one, less sure of both) but I
kinda got bored and stopped doing them a while back.

I see there's a double rep bonus for Legion and BFA reps this month so
I'll try and get around to playing more for the factions I still need
paragon chest rewards from... Nightfallen still haven't given me their
mount, although at least I got the rest of the Legion factions done
last time there was a double rep month. I certainly don't have the
paragon chest items for the N'Zoth factions as I never got that far
past exalted...

Well, month ends tonight and... now up to 49 Nightfallen caches open
without the mount. Sigh. Rather bored of those WQs now, 490k rep is
like going from neutral to exalted 12 times. Wish they'd add bad luck
protection to it!

On a better note I finished the "It's Not a Tumor!" achievement
tonight, destroy 1000 corruption tumors in NZoth assaults, took a fair
bit of farming but kinda relaxing once I found a decent spot where
other players clear out the mobs regularly.

Ouch! 49 is pretty high. But I ran exactly 49 boxes when I got my
mount from valarjar less than 1 week ago after doing it on 5 chars.
When I passed 30 boxes I got bleh somehow.

I like how Rarity takes a screenshot whenever you get anything, it let
me check my previous worst paragon mount, one of the Argus elekks, but
that only took 41 attempts. And Army of the Light rep is faster to get
than Nightfallen, when it's double rep you can just about get a cache
per day, or very close (ranges from 8-10k depending what's up),
Nightfallen is more like one every 3 days unless there's an emissary,
and I don't expect to see another double rep event for a long time,
only 50% bonus weeks.

I have at least got some new mounts recently; I finally got brave and
did heroic Darkshore a week or so back to unlock the cat mount; I had

Odd. It seems the rarity addon stopped screenshotting my mounts. I
have a few from 2019 and thats it. But I'm still proud of Huolon and
Aeonaxx - both dropped within 5 or 6 days of each other a few weeks ago. :)

The drop rate in Darkshore isnt bad. But the fact you only have one
chance per cycle to get a mount drop from a specific boss makes you
using alts. Luckily I have all mounts from both warfronts. :)

I finished the falcosaur questlines 2 days ago and got all four mounts.
So I decided to give the final mount from Talon's Vengeance a shot. 420
marks of prey sounds odd, but they're definitely farmable as long as I
use the Maw of Souls trick. Started farming the marks last night and I
already have 52 marks. Each mark is ~3 mins of work. With a second
account its much faster - down to like 20 secs per mark.
Next issue is to see how much bonus rep I can obtain before I use the marks.

Heh, wonder if it needs some setting turned on somewhere, my
screenshot folder is full of me getting random stuff, a lot I don't
care about but some nice reminders of ones that were a pain to farm
:-)

I'm guessing the hardest thing about Huolon nowadays is tagging him
before someone else oneshots him? Was glad I got that one at the time,
although I still visit the island on my quiet RP server for some of
the other rares, I'm 5 drops short of "Going to Need a Bigger Bag" -
not too sure I'll ever actually finish it but it's fun trying!

Lucky! That one of mine was from the vendor for tokens (need heroic
achievement to buy) but I still miss the donkey from the kobold
overseer in Arathi, 29+ (29 on main account, + can't remember on 2nd)
attempts and counting. Got all the others, except for the Frightened
Kodo, who I never even bothered looking for, it felt a waste of time
on Draenor; I'll try on my RP server alt sometime during Shadowlands
when the zone is hopefully forgotten and quiet (although that server
got connected recently, so is less quiet than it used to be, it's
still WAY quieter than Draenor, and only crossrealmed in current
expansion content so a much better bet for open world rares...)

Oh wow, I never even considered that one (open world ffa pvp... not my
thing lol), but reading Wowhead comments I see the tactic, hmm, doing
a 2 in 1 and getting the Ordos rep too is quite appealing, plus if I
do it when my 2nd account is active I don't have to mess around
relogging either. It's one of very few factions I don't have exalted,
so something to work on in a quiet time in future then, thanks for the
tip!

Well, ok, not sure to be happy about more rep or unhappy about another
month of grinding Nightfallen WQs every day lol. At least while I'm
over there I port to Argus for the two mount rares that still refuse
to drop their mounts, not that I have any better luck with them, 34
and 57 attempts respectively :-P So I guess it's good to have more
chances, but not so good when I'm already a bit bored of it! Not doing
it tonight anyway, I only just noticed it and it's almost 3am...

Huh. When was that hot fix issued, because I did not get increased rep
on today's invasion (whatever they are called, I call them invasions).

I am exalted with everything in B'roth other then the Uldum (O think
that's the right one) rep which I have zero interest in. I am sort of
grinding Hydraxian still, but will not finish that before my month sub
runs out. I think I would need two more months after this one, and that
seem very unlikely to happen in the next year.

Darkmoon Faire-EU with WM on. Problem solved. :) I did both mounts on
DMF-EU. And you don't see many players with WM turned on there. When I
camped Aeonaxx I rarely saw other players in /o. Maybe a levelling char
now and then. That's it.
Same scenario on Timeless Isle. When I returned to Timeless Isle I saw
Huolon flying around many times. I can imagine it's heavily camped if
you have WM off though.

I've been attacked by a few horde players while I leveled and geared up
my ally druid to 120 on darkmoon faire. Many of them don't have a clue
about even basic pvp. I remember when a horde warrior in full heroic
gear attacked my druid in 390-400 gear. I was maybe 70-80 ilvls below
him. I still nuked him. He even forgot to use his corrupted abilities.
And that felt so odd compared to my world pvp experience on Draenor.

Never thought of WM on; I hate pvp so much it never entered my mind!
That's my server of choice for open world though, lovely and quiet,
shame it got connected though - and connected with a group of former
PVP realms so WM might be a bit busier now...

That's myplan in Shadowlands when there's nobody around lol, at
present I think there'll be some players still. Should've looked

The note was only a few mins before I posted, wasn't seeing the buff
ingame at the time but hopefully it'll kick in by the time I'm next
on.

Hydraxian was such a pain - and in all the weeks it took I never got
Thunderfury completed lol, still miss one binding. At least I got
Sulfuras!

I am mid-way through revered (ish. 8000 rep? maybe a bit less) and have
gotten nothing interesting. I have half of something or other of
legendary quality, don't remember what it is and would have to find it
in my bank.

Mostly, everything gets vendor dumped as soon as I hearth out. I don't
bother killing anything but the bosses and my pet kills anything that
hits me, so a full clear is pretty fast. Still damn annoying to run all
the way back to the start to take the other passage and then have to
cycle around since you can';t shortcut across the lava.

Hate the place.

Wish the Buff applied to ALL reps.

Another month down, 10 more caches (to 59 total)... no mount. Getting
very bored of this, unless they extend it into November I'll take a
long break from these I think, at least now the companion app lets me
do legion table missions so I can stack up tokens without bothering to
travel!

Also the lag in Suramar is incredible this last week, what on earth
happened to that server/shard? Not just me as there's a thread on tech
support about it multiple people on different realms getting
Suramar-specific lag, takes around 30 seconds (based on chat
timestamps) to process finishing a WQ and getting my loot...

59 is a lot. I guess youre doing it on several chars like I did? I was
running the paragons with 5 or 6 chars and the last mount dropped after
40'ish attempts.

I would suspect heavy multiboxing in the zone. When the alliance player
with 25 DKs attacks Dazaralar the whole zone will lag heavily afaik.
I've never seen him so my info is not on the first hand. :)

I barely touch the game atm. This morning I decided to give the draenor
dungeon hero a go for the mount before I go to work. I stopped when I
failed the No Ticket achievement on my shaman. It's like there are
invisible walls on both sides of the train somehow so pushing the mobs
over the edge seems impossible. But I have 4 druids = 4 more chances
before weekly reset. When I log my druids I will go for this
achievement before I go for any other.
I'm not gonna go for the grenade solution.

Just my main; I'd burn out if I did more than one character per day I
think! Also think I only have two others exalted, and one of those is
on my 2nd account which isn't currently subbed (tbh I'm fairly sure I
got 2-3 more caches on that character but Rarity cant track it because
it's not on the same account)

I haven't seen any multiboxers around, it's possible but if they exist
they're not in any of the areas where WQs spawn anyway. Seems a
problem experienced on many servers, although we're probably all
sharded together onto the one server that's broken.

Likewise, except for the rep farming, I started playing Elder Scrolls
Online a few weeks back and am having a ton of fun there, furnishing
my house is great, something I always wanted WoW to do.

Haven't tried any of those achievements yet, oneday I'll get around to
them, I never really did those dungeons much so it'll be something
different to do. That's a lot of druids you have!
