I didnt pay too much attention... do we use the current justice points in
cata or will some new currency come? If some other currency comes then I
need to buy gems/saronites and sell all immediatly before it becomes
useless!

Justice points will be awared in Cata dungeons and used for Cata starting
raid gear. Raids will give a new kind of point that is used for raid level
gear.

To clarify:

Justice Points will allow you to purchase item level 346 superior (blue)
gear at level 85. This is Gunra, the Justice Quartermaster in Orgrimmar,
for instance, with a list of what she sells:

http://cata.wowhead.com/npc=46555#sells

Now, ilevel 346 blue gear is the same as the gear that drops from heroic
dungeon bosses. For instance, here is an ilevel 346 sword that drops
from the final boss in the Halls of Origination on heroic:

http://cata.wowhead.com/item=56433

The interesting thing about heroic dungeon drops is that they work like
Icecrown Citadel raid drops: the same items drop in both normal (in this
case, ilevel 333) and heroic (ilevel 346) versions. So this is the
normal version of that same sword:

http://cata.wowhead.com/item=56108

The intended progression path from questing to normal dungeons to heroic
dungeons to raiding was recently described by a blue poster:

* Normal dungeons/crafting/questing to get full set of 85 blues
(non-heroic) to do Heroic dungeons.
* Heroic dungeons to get full set of 85 Heroic blues to do Normal mode
raids.
* Normal raids to get full set of 85 epics (non-heroic) to do Heroic
mode raids.
* Heroic raids to get full set of 85 Heroic epics, which will presumably
help a bit on Sinestra and the next tier (when released with patch 4.1.0)
* Badge vendors to help fill in gaps at all tier levels.

Now, Cataclysm raids will earn you Valor Points, spent at Valorous
Quartermasters like Faldren Tillsdale in Stormwind:

http://cata.wowhead.com/npc=44245 (sadly WoWhead doesn't list what he
sells).

When patch 4.1 arrives, everything that is sold for Valor Points will be
moved to the Justice Quartermasters, existing Justice items will be
discounted, and new Valor items equivalent to the 4.1 raids' gear will
be added to the Valorous Quartermasters.

Thanks for this reply!

If I understand correctly it will be possible to gear up always more or less
as it was in wotlk. I would hate if they made it like tbc or vanilla where
it was basically impossible to gear up a new char if you were not playing
from the beginning (if you levelled a new char by the time black temple was
out there was no way to get into a BT guild)

How was it impossible? As I recall they added lots of nice items to the
Badge of Justice vendor, and badges were obtainable in solo and 5-man
content.

By the end they did, yes, but for a year or more, you were stuck with
nothing to do for ages. Same as early WotLK; get everything at ilvl
200 and that's your lot... until they finally let Triumph embles drop
from instances, but I pretty much abandoned my main for 6 months+,
because there was just no way to improve your character outside
raiding. Very much glad to see they'll stick with the more recent
model for the future, I like it! I don't need to be in cutting edge
raid-level gear, I just want *something* to aim for which can improve
my character, and to also be not so far behind others that I'll be
refused access to the odd pug raid I may wish to join, for lack of
gear reasons.

Will the current badge vendors go away? Will we earn Justice points
ONLY from 81-85 dungeons, to be spent on level 85 gear, or will it be
possible for leveling characters to earn a few points in level-
appropriate dungeons? I thought I had read something about Northrend
dungeons still giving level-appropriate characters a small number of
Justice points, but perhaps I am mistaken.

Although, it would probably end up being more worthwhile to save the
early Justice points for 85 and get Cataclysm entry-zone greens at 78
rather than buy "old" level 80 purples. Can you still buy whatever
badges could have bought you during TBC? Outside of the Spirit Shards
from the Auchindoun instances, I don't recall ever getting any
currency while leveling through that range.
