That damn windows!

I have clicked everywhere and in combination with every possible keyboard
stroke, but now I give up!
After a hard drive crash I had to reinstall things. Partly from an extarnal
HD I have, partly from the net. Two unwanted sort of windows show up, and I
cannot figure out how to remove them. It's from add ons I have used before.
One 'window' is a sort of black background which I used to put behind
Bartender4 bars. It changes the size of the proper wow-window slightly. This
Add-on doesn't show up under the add-on folder ..... it seems. What is that
and how can I remove it? For some reason it's only attached to the screen of
one of my chars.
Another window could be part of the normal chat - it's a window divided into
3 tabs: Self, everything and What Happened to Me? I like the content of the
window, but as it seems to have attached itself to the top of the screen,
it's not really nice to have.
What is this? If it's a part of the normal chat, how can I then put it down
there? Alternatively - can it be moved/deleted in some way?

That would be the combat window. Unless some add-on is doing
something weird with it, you should just be able to right click on
it's tab, unlock it and move it back to be joined with the chat
window.

and remove any that dont start "Blizzard"
Add-on settings are in your
World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<account name>
Directory - if you dont really know what you doing - just delete the
whole "WTF" directory and all sub directories.
If you do that you will lose ALL wow settings - not just add-ons, so
you will need to set up your screen resolution settiings etc again -
but at least you know you have no rubbish around. and shou ldnot have
strange boxes popping up all over th eplace.
