I have been a Madden baller for years, but am sick of the Robo QBs, suction
blocking, etc. and want to give the copy of NFL 2K3 I recently picked up
for the XBox a chance.

What I am looking for are any good NFL 2K forum sites out there. I have
searched everywhere, but the few forums I can find are essentially
mausoleums. What I'm really looking for are good slider settings tested by
veteran NFL 2K3 gamers; those who are getting better stats and gameplay
using tweaked slider settings.

Can anyone point me in the right direction - or post some sliders for this
game in this thread?

Anya: We're just kinda thrown by the, you having sex with Spike.
Buffy: The who whatting how with huh?
Anya: Okay, that's denial. That comes before anger.
Buffy: I am not having sex with Spike!
Anya: Anger.
Xander: No one is judging you. It's understandable. Spike is strong and
mysterious and sort of compact but well-muscled...
Buffy: I am not having sex with Spike, but I'm starting to think you are.

Geo,

Have you done any testing with the sliders to get better play for QB
pressure, unrealistic pursuits, etc.? I did notice the game could use a few
tweaks. I have been a "slider scientist" for years with Madden, but the
sliders for NFL 2K3 are new.

Same here. NFL 2K3 looks just as good, if not better, than Madden. And the GAME
PLAY is just so much more enjoyable. I got bored with Madden so quick. 2K3 is
much more addictive. And Dan Stevens & Peter Okeefe kick Madden & Michaels'
asses. The *only* thing that's better on Madden is that you can save within a
game. In 2K3 if your in the 3rd quarter and suddenly have to leave, you either
have to simulate to the end or just quit (erasing everything you had done so
far in that game). The most recent Sega baseball lets you save within a game,
so I'm sure they will have this option on NFL 2K4.

Same here, once you start getting into 2K3 it just keeps getting better.

Uh guys, this is all great. Love the encouragement; but I am still hoping
for some info on online forums and preferred slider settings to help the
game be more realistic in terms of the catching, pursuing and pass rush
areas...

They're not answering you because 2K3 can not be "made" realistic.
Your defensive linemen will always be able to run down the other
teams' wide receivers. As far as catching is concerned, someone told
me on Live that you actually have to turn it DOWN a notch to make your
receivers stop dropping passes. As far as pass rush, I really don't
know. I haven't played offline since about December and I've forgotten
how to play. AFAIK, the sliders can't be adjusted for online play.

Why not play the game and then adjust for your abilities. Worked for me.

I guess I just can't believe that this game had pretty good sales (not near
Madden, but still). Yet, even with hundreds of thousands of users, no one
has published any proven slider settings or set up a half decent forum.
Would save a lot of trial and error.

Besides, I really don't want to adjust the game just to my own strengths
and weaknesses. That wouldn't be fair (or much fun). What I am really
looking for are slider settings that best represent realistic football
play. For Madden, there were many schools of thought that led to some
pretty good slider settings published around the web.

I don't want win every time. Far from it. I just want a good football
simulator that feels like the real thing from game to game. Some of the
quirks in NFL 2K seem to work against that, like the lack of sacks, the
weird superhuman pursuits from d-linemen, etc.

Any suggestions to make the game better through adjusting game settings is
appreciated.

Look man...sliders are like assholes, everyone has one! My sliders seem very
good to me, but maybe bad for you. You really need to play the game and
tweek it to your style of play. No one said to make it easy, just try to
tweek the things that bother you...if that's possible. With that said, NFL
2K3 is not a simulator and will never be. If you don't want to spend the
time messing with sliders. then look elsewhere. All Sega Sports games have
sliders that need tweeking because they don't how to make good game without
them. Try NFL Fever or Madden...they don't try to hide what type of game it
is....
