OK, I got Bayonetta first thing this morning after work, plugged it in and
played it a few. I then played it more so this afternoon and I have to say
this game is fun, though a bit over the top. The graphics are sweet, the
gameplay smooth as silk, though I don't like the cutscenes, they're more
film clips telling the story and it is a cause for loss of interest in that
aspect, since it seem boring. The moves are fantastic and the small bonus
rounds are a plus. The power-ups are off the charts. I've played a few
rounds on the three difficulties (Very Easy, Easy and Normal). Normal can be
a little tough but it isn't that hard. The other two settings are automatic
when making shots and moves and you can almost not die. On Normal, you have
to aim and move towards the enemy to make hits. I am unsure if there is
another difficulty that gets unlocked after playing the game through, but I
will let you know.

For now, I think this game is worth it.

Expecting it from Gamefly today. Now if only I can pull myself away
from racing games on my wheel! I'm totally addicted to racing games
now but I will definitely give Bayonetta a go.

I totally love this game, best hack-n-slash game since Ninja Gaiden on the
og Xbox. Tons of moves and cool power-ups with lots of add-on moves, items
and weapons you can buy during the game and enemy weapons can be used. Even
if you bounce through the cutscenes, I think it will take at least 6-8 hours
on easy, since some of the game is puzzle like. What's really cool, is that
the forced camera angle actually works really well. There's one part of the
game that I didn't care for too much, but it was only one short mission, it
was totally arcade in play and that turned me off. I (think) I am right at
the end on my first play-through and I have almost 8 hours logged on it, but
I did the cut scenes for the most part. I personally think you'll like it,
though it is a bit over the top and the storyline is kind of cheesy, but not
bad. The graphics are beautiful, vibrant, sharp and colorful. Even the
characters looks decent, though cartoony.

Bayonetta review up

"remarkable action game"

Solid 9.0 not to shabby

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-hd-bayonetta/60471

I gotta say I'm not a fan of games in this genre , I barely liked God
Of War, but Bayonetta looks insanely off the wall awesome.

I didn't consider getting this but now I'm getting it.

Maybe 20 years ago. Bayonetta is really too anime-ish to look like
any real world person.

And how will that fix the loading times and frame-rate issues? I also do not
see that fixing the color washout.

I agree, but it plays wonderfully. Her legs are almost twice as long as her
head to her waist.

I hate to say it, but she's my least favorite thing about the game.
Something about her character design just irks me. Maybe its the
glasses, hairdo, and "outfit".

I like her, her face, especially during the cutscenes, has a nice sex
appeal, and is very pretty. Maybe it's those librarian type glasses she
wears. I long legs are well suited for the kicking and stomping that she can
do in the game. Now, her antagonist (Jeanne), she's totally nothing to look
at, as she almost has that 1930s Greta Garbo look to her..

The earlier side-by-sides I've seen for this game noted that they
already used the super white setting for the PlayStation 3.

And how exactly would the settings change fix the framerate, the lack
of detail, the washed out colors, etc.?

On a side note, this begs the question of why the PlayStation 3 isn't
set to the "proper" configuration in the first place.

She could have looked like Joe Biden

There are too many variations of TV's, and HDMI versions and settings. There
is no one size fits all.Not all TV's can doo deep color, Not all HDTV's are
16:9 , not all TV's can do HDMI 1.3 etc...
