I'm considering Bayonetta. I'll definitely get Mass Effect 2 at some
point but not in the near future since I don't have the time to devote
to that game. I just started playing No More Heroes last night so
it'll be a while before I get the sequel (assuming I enjoy the first
one enough).

Mass Effect 2, at some point- I have Dragon Age to make a dent in
first. Maybe Bayonetta, if I read enough good reviews. Too many
games that I have, which I still need to bleed dry. Still stuck on
Disc 2 of Lost Odyssey, just got a new party member in Star Ocean 4,
and the best members of my party are caught on a ghost ship in Tales
of Symphonia, with only the 2nd tier guys left to save them. As it
stands, my RPGs need some serious attention. I'm guessing Mass Effect
2 will be easier to beat than those ones, though, as the first one
wasn't really hard. Great atmosphere, though, so at some point I'll
need to check out ME 2. Of course, Just Cause 2, God of War 3, and
Final Fantasy 13 all drop in March, with Red Dead Redemption following
in April, and Alpha Protocol sometime in the next half year. FF13
might have to wait for the others, as it stands.

I am stoked for ME2, but I am getting it for PC, much more customization
there as well. Bayonetta I have to admit I am kind of excited for, after
playing the demo, it is over the top to say the elast, but ti has some nifty
move and the graphics look sweet.
Anyway, you'll love DA:O, I don't know what console you'll get it for, but
from what I've read, it looks better on the PS3. Everything about DA I would
give really high grades except for graphics. Even on the PC, the graphics
are just OK and I hear they look not too great on the 360. The characters
look awesome on the PC version, but the general surroundings look about a
little better than Fable 2 did on the 360, which isn't a bad thing. The
voice-overs, music, and character development along with their personalities
are top-notch. Even the lip-voice synch is nearly spot-on with decent facial
expressions. Be prepared for a long game though.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for shooting robots. But I've tried to
keep the spoilers to a minimum for ME2, so there could be Vermicious
Knids for all I know. Doesn't matter, it'll still be good.

has been one rock solid unit, but I got it solely because I knew it had the

I know I've mentioned here quite a few times over the past year that I was
deciding on getting a high end gaming rig, so when I finally broke down and
spent 4k building my own rig, I did this with goal of playing all RPGs, RTS'
on it, and you know better than anyone here that I am an RPG freak. I am
leaving the 360 for shooters only. Maybe next gen, the graphics and
customization will be better and I will switch back, but I am loving my
gaming rig bigtime.
I have admit, I'm fairly stoked on getting Bayonetta and I haven't been this
exciting for a hack-n-slash game since Ninja Gaiden on the og Xbox. There
hasn't been one demo on the 360 for this genre that got me into actually
wanting to buy the game.

The game looks to be exciting, I know it means nothing to you, but the first
one was awesome outside of the graphical issues. I hope the 360 version
isn't the graphical mess the first was.

Yeah they're releasing WAY too many gameplay videos for ME2 , I don't
watch them anymore for fear I get more spoilers.
2010 is looking like an epic year for games , at least the 1st 1/2.

acting and story line is corny to me. The only game I usually purchase
in this genre is GOW but I usually end up renting most of them. I
passed on NG2 and Brutal Legend and I'm glad I did, but DI, Bayonetta
and DS are all on my radar.

And three are RPGs, WOW (you could consider GTA a little of an RPG as well).
It certainly shows where the majority favored certain types of games. I
didn't play GTA, but that list does fit where I would have them, but not
necessarily in that order. My bias towards ME would have it in the top 5,
but no way as #1. As much as I despised Gears, it should be in that top 5.

Already got it for the Xbox 360, as I heard the PS3 version, while
it's sharper, has a few more framerate issues. So far it's been
pretty okay- not terribly exciting, but that's not what I was looking
for from this game. The graphics do remind me of Fable 2, but a
little less lush. An old-school western RPG with a party, but a more
"actiony", console presentation is what I expected, and is what I've
gotten so far. I'm glad it's long, although with the JRPGs I still am
working on, a long game often means a game I won't finish anytime
soon.

I was disappointed to see that Gears 2 wasn't on there. The first
Gears of War was probably more "important", in that it established the
franchise/game mechanics, and finally silenced the "Xbox 1.5"
complaints floating around before it......but Gears 2, IMO, elevated
the franchise above being just a pretty tech-demo. The campaign had
more variety, the multiplayer was improved with the addition of
botmatch options and modes such as "meatflag", and of course, Horde
was a great throwback to the score-oriented, arcade days of old. I
still prefer Gears 2 even to such technical powerhouses as Uncharted 2.

I think the opposite, Gears 2 was a letdown along with the first. Lack of
weapons, glitchy gameplay and lack of story. Those were same things in the
first that I didn't like and I was thoroughly disappointed with it being the
same in the second. Like the first, it had incredible graphics and that is
the only thing that appealed to me about Gears.

The game takes a while to get going, but as the story develops, you'll be
engrossed. Be careful of the dialogue you choose if you're going for
specific relationships (if that winds up catching your interest) or
outcomes, and how the game plays. Once the choice is made, outside of
reloading a savepoint, it is forever. The scripting is excellent and there
is a lot of dialogue. Some of it is downright funny, especially the
secondary dialogue that goes on between the other party members during
non-action parts, like when you're exploring.

I thought it was interesting how, when you start on the path to become
a Grey Warden, they hook you up with a couple of characters that you
think you'll be with for a while (as they do a good job of giving them
personalities), but then are taken away quite suddenly and
unexpectedly. Not a bad way to let the player know that you can't
count on everything "going as planned".

ME2 is 50/50 for me, ut I think I'll end up saving the cash, and
getting Bioshock 2 in Feb, then picking up ME2 when the price drops.
I still have ME 1 to get through on the 360 (I'd beaten in previously
on the PC) as I want to carry my save over after I finish that.
Christmas has left me a little light in the pockets... :)
