I'll be getting Simpsons soon, but will wait on Timeshift.

Timeshift demo (2nd version) was decent , only problem I had was
discerning the environment and enemies , they meshed together into one
incoherent blur, and not because of taking cover and real world low
light settings. In short there was too much on screen all melting into
one another. The game very much goes after the Gears look, but where
Gears succeeded in making the environment clear and viewable although
there was allot of minute detail, Timeshift sorta just throws all detail
in a blender and mixes it up. The demo for its sake was played in the
rain which looked good, so maybe rest of game is less muddied up design
wise. Maybe just a rental?

Big week over all.

Twin Peaks gold box is out on DVD tomorow, as is Spider-Man 3, Looney
Tunes Golden Collection vol. 5 (and I still need to pick up 4) and a
not-so-big title (well, big for me) Day Watch. The sequel to Night
Watch, a Russian Vampire flick.

I spent 10 years waiting for this set, and now I find myself oddly
unconcerned. It took so long for most of the Lynch stuff to finally
come out on DVD, that I just lost interest. It doesn't help that the
quality of his work has been declining since "Lost Highway" (which is
*STILL* not out on DVD in region 1, BTW).

After a while, it goes from "Why isn't Twin Peaks out on DVD?!?! A
full laserdisc set can sell for as much as $1000!" to "When are they
going to release season 2?" several years later to "Who even gives a
shit anymore?" several years after THAT.

They waited too long. Lynch just isn't what he once was.

It's kind of funny that you included Naruto, Party Animals, Bee Movie,
Cars, and Chessmaster in a list of "big" titles for the Xbox 360...

Then how did I buy a copy a while ago?

No.

1. Naruto and Party Animals are big titles for Microsoft. Naruto is major in
Japan, for one, and a big hit here, too. And Party Animals is a party game
(which Microsoft doesn't have -- Fuzion Frenzy 2 was ass) and another try to
get the VP license humming - and by the way, the kid's show is very popular.

2. I didn't include Bee Movie, Cars and Chessmaster, idiot. That's just an
"oh, also being released is..." You know, minor titles. (rolling eyes)

Isn't that what they said about the other 6 or 7 Naruto titles that have
come out already?

Actually, yes.

> 1. Naruto and Party Animals are big titles for Microsoft. Naruto is major in

That Naruto is major in Japan has no bearing on American consumers.
American manga readers aren't going to make the game a bit hit. Sure,
there's a show on Toonami, but how many people do you think really
watch that?

Time will tell, but I just don't see how a game that LOOKS like it's
based on a cartoon is going to hit it big with the target demographic
of the Xbox 360 - adult males - unless consumers are already fans of
the series.

> And Party Animals is a party game

I know the kid's show is very popular. My nephew loves it and watches
it every Saturday morning. However, kids are hardly a significant part
of the Xbox 360 market and the absolutely horrid performance of the
more sophisticated original game doesn't bode well for one that is
aimed at consumers more likely to own a Nintendo Wii than an Xbox 360.

You think Naruto and Party Animals are going to be big titles for the
Xbox 360 here in the United States and you have the gumption to call
me an idiot? LOL

Roll your eyes all you want, but nothing in your post implied "oh,
also being released is..."

How am I, or any reader for that matter, supposed to know what your
dumb ass is trying to say when you don't actually say it?

Aren't you, like me, one of the people who references Metacritic when
alvinstraight and jimmylab open their big mouths about all the AAA
Playstation 3 exclusives?

You'll notice on Metacritic that of the 3 scores, IGN's is clearly the
highest.

IGN also reviewed Viva Pinata well - higher than Naruto, actually,
with an 8.5 score. Metacritic's aggregate wasn't that far off - 8.4 -
and LOTS of critics rated Viva Pinata pretty high. Yet gamers didn't
take to the game and it flopped at retail, with the price dropping by
$10-15 within a matter of weeks.

Oh yeah... the IGN review never once says "kicks ass" - I made sure to
check on that since I suspected that was your own little contribution.
SO... if 8.4 with a lower Metacritic aggregate means the game "kicks
ass," then Heavenly Sword must "kick ass," too... and Resistance is a
fucking God among games, right?

Dumbass.

The only copy I've ever seen even for sale in the U.S. was a crappy
fullscreen import from China. If there is another one, I'd sure be
happy to hear it.

It was never released in the United States. The only Region 1 release
was in Canada. Word is that the murder trial of Robert Blake made the
studio uneasy about releasing it in the U.S.

In any case, the Region 1 release was full screen only.

On the other hand, the movie has been released a few times in Europe
and even has a 2-disc collector's edition type set.

ROTFLMAO

*YOU* of all people are calling *ME* a troll? I knew you were a dumb
shit but I didn't know you were *THAT* dumb.

I've never started an anti-Playstation post in a Playstation newsgroup
(I've only posted there once or twice ever).

I've never even started anti-Playstation posts here in the Xbox
newsgroup (which many of the troll haters consider to be trolling
although technically it's not).

You're as close as you can get to being a troll without actually
consistently starting posts in the Playstation newsgroup.

Nice try, though, dumbass... perhaps next time you might want to
actually look at more than one review before validating your worthless
opinions.
