Nintendo continue to OWN japan: PS3 sales fall AGAIN

The Wii is increasing it's lead over the PS3 week by week - a 7:1
ratio now, with the Wii outselling every single Sony gamin product put
together!!

Add the Wii, DSL, NDS , GBA, GBM, NGC togeher, and it DECIMATES the
PS3, PS2 and PSP.

Yeah, so the 360 is flopping in Japan - who's really surprised at
that? It was a known fact that the 360 would not do well there, the
XBOX didn't - but the real surprise is the PS3.

It's not only cheaper there, but it's also a Japanese product, runs
PS2 games, and has more Japanese specific content.

It's not just selling slightly less, it's selling 7x less than the
nearest comparable next-gen competitor!

If this trend continues, the Wii will be selling 100k a week and the
PS3 under 5k by the end of the summer!

Sony has failed, miserably, to capitalise on the momentum the PS2 had.

The PS3 seems to have killed it dead in it's tracks (See, even the Ps2
is outselling the PS3, but not by much), the PSP has failed to catch
on as a handheld gaming machine, with the DS (DS Lite and DS together)
having sold over 3x as many units in japan alone.

The era of sony dominating the market is gone - they failed miserably
in launching the PS3, nd will have a long, bloody battle to maintain
to stay popular.

I predict they will fade away much as Sega did - only to end up a 3rd
party publisher for other platforms.

I mean, Gran Tourismo may still have some mileage in it.

Why do you care?
The Wii isn't in the same league / gen as the 360 & PS3.
BTW you always forget to mention that the Wii is kicking the shit out of

Considering the amount the PS3 is behind the 360 currently, and how it
is losing month after month in sales to the 360 in the USA, it needs
to have a GREAT showing in Japan to make up for it. It is not. Sony
can't afford to play second or third fiddle to anyone. It loses the
aura of being the top company, resulting it getting shorted. Also, if
the Wii comes out on top this time, what does it say about how people
value better graphics?

Yes it is. You define next gen gaming as having sharper graphics. The
rest of the world defines it as having new and interesting ways to
play games.

The Wii does that, and apparently, does it in a way that the majority
of the market looking for a new console find inclusive.
