I know this game is old, but online I still play this one most.  I hate the fact that I cannot select options and choose any and every fighter or weight class.  I also hate the fact that some opponents fighters seem to be faster than mine or even faster when I used their fighter.  Also, how come when I throw a punch, my guy becomes immobilized and cannot move while the other guy can give me a good punch?  If that bullshit would end, I would never lose.

So what are you saying?  I mean, there is no reason why may fighter should throw a punch and then be frozen and I can't move him even to block while someone else has the time to hit me with a serious blow.  It should not happen.

I still play this game online the most too. You can select options if
you're the one challenging. If you accept invitation from others (in
lobby) or search a game online it'll be the other player who choose
options. About the faster opponents, it is well known that button
players have a speed advantage over analog stick. I only play with
analog stick and have to cope with button mashers with a speed
advantage. And about the immobilization thing, you must not have
played a lot of career mode. There is blocking and parrying. When you
block with the stick up or down (hands in front of the face or chest),
you block the impact of punches. When you parry with the stick in
diagonal up or down, you parry the punch and have time to counter
attack. Your opponents are mostly parrying you.

What is your rec online? gamertag?

I don't like that.

Oh. How do you use buttons?

I won a few titles in career mode, but I did not finish the game. I am at
65%. I just hate it whe "I" am aware of what is happening but I can't move.
That is not realistic. I hope they fix that in 4, plus add Tyson and bring
back Rocky.

I do that.

Your opponents are mostly parrying you.

It's in the options. There's a setting for controller and there is
something like three controller mode. At leat one of the setting has
punch mapped to buttons (x,y,a,b). There is no match options though to
force your opponent to use stick or buttons. There is a lobby 'analog
only' but no one is ever there.

No it isn't. At least you can use it as well as your opponent. The
should remove it in 4 and get blocking more effective. Bring back
Rocky?...was he ever in there?...I fought a user created tyson once.
I'm currently building a Clubber Lang to use online when people
challenge me with custom fighters.

Ok my bad. I thought you were not aware. If they constently do it to
you, you'll have to vary your attacks, you become too predictable for
them. You have to feint, bob and weave, etc..

Ok, maybe we fought. I'm Venom79 and something like 225-199. I'm
mostly in the lobby and rarely use my mic on this game. I don't have
NBA live though (last basketball game I played was on the snes, the
crazy one with huge dunks and tricks that was quite popular at the
time)

I need to try it. As of now I just started career mode over again. Don't
ask me why.

How do you figure? I mean the game play is not the greatest, but I don't
feel like bringing this one back like I did 07'.

According to Metacritic, Madden is superior to All Pro. EA Hockey is
superior to 2K8 Hockey. But NBA 2K8 makes Live seem dated and basic.
I can't say that I have played 08 but I'll be doggone if the hardcore
gamers who started hooping online some years back have not (for the
most part) made that transition to 2K*8. And NCAA Hoops 2K8 will
again blow March Madness out of the water.

I am the king in 2K also. Yes, people have moved into 2K8 because there are
not many online for NBA Live 08.
