This seems more like Guitar Hero: Metallica than Beatles Rock Band.
Harmonix likely learned a painful lesson that people aren't going to
pay tons more money for customized instruments - I imagine it will be
a game only or a game packed with the standard Rock Band equipment.

This is nevertheless a big deal for a Green Day fan like me.

Will they include some black eyeliner to make the players look ultra duchey?

Get a real guitar I can teach you their real songs in about a week ,
all you need to learn is about 3 notes and just move those notes up
and down the neck for any one of their songs.

I kid I kid

Welcome tO Paradise has a nice bass line though

Nah... that's mostly true of everything they did up to American Idiot
(although most of the *real* guitar playing was done by that fourth
guy who joined the album before that). They're far from musical
geniuses LOL... I just get a kick out of their music as it really
hooked me in college.

That's one of my least favorite songs of theirs...

Maybe the game will give me a fake British accent when I sing...

Nah the xtra guy is just to play the dual guitar parts LIVE , I know
when I play as a studio musician we would put multiple tracks with 2
guitar parts but I would play both parts then put them together in one
mix.

It's hard to do this live and have the same sound as the studio double
guitar parts. So you need an xtra guitar player to play the extra
part.

I have no doubt green day still writes the guitar parts as they are
really basic , they just have that guy LIVE so their sound is more
full and true to the studio recording.

The solos are beyond simple and basic they are almost an insult. but
hey Conviction doesn't have stealth anymore so...........

I kid I kid

(note:) I hope I gave you something you can contradict by way of
google search , just so you can be happy! Merry Christmas!

I kid I kid...

I used to love Longview. Not so much anymore but it's definitely one
of their "classics."

So Green day gets a rock band and the Rolling Stones still don't.

Yep this sucks.

It's all about ROI. There's no way the Green Day project will cost the
company as much as the Beatles did or the Rolling Stones would. It's
doubtful it'll be anywhere near as hardcore for fans since the Beatles
game didn't sell anywhere near as well as they had hoped, showing them
that a band that is iconic to music fans doesn't necessarily translate
to huge sales to *gaming* fans.

Green Day is much more appealing to the demographic that plays video
games. Most of the younger gamers probably wouldn't even know who the
Beatles *were/are*.

Also consider that it's highly possible that the Rolling Stones just
don't want to participate in this. There's been a lot of bad press
recently for Guitar Hero games because of conflicts with the usage of
artist's images in ways the artists didn't approve of. Sure, Guitar
Hero and Rock Band are different games from different companies but
it's not that hard to see them in the same light if you're someone who
doesn't play games.

I don't doubt that Billie Joe wrote the guitar parts and played them
in the safety of a recording studio but I don't think it's something
he could accurately reproduce on tour, like you said.

I don't know if you play Guitar Hero 5 or Rock Band but if you look at
the Green Day track ratings, the guitar part is always rated as quite
easy.

Well, you're not wrong for once so I don't need to.
