Just thought I would mention the experience I had with an Airstyle 3G cordless
controller for the PS2 . It cost £40 (70 of your dollars) and looks very
similar to a PS2 pad. The grip is a little shorter than a stock PS2 controller
and it did feel a little uncomfortable after a while.
It is simple with a small receiver which glows blue when plugged into the PS2.
The controller is the same size as the normal pad but without the lead. All
very impressive if a shade expensive.
Battery life is rated at 50hrs with Alkaline batteries with the feedback turned
off.

Then I tried it with a game. Ghost recon quickly became "guess which recon" as
the Dpad down key would also trigger the left and or right Dpad key and the
laydown command became switch to another team member- any member -of the
platoon and then laydown and stand up. While your team were up and down like a
couple of Morris dancers at the local church gathering the other team were
being cut to pieces by enemy gun fire! Not to be put off I re-configured the
pad so the triangle and cross button became the laydown key. It was better if a
little different. Then the analogue sticks became sluggish with a delay or
would move without any input from the user.
This was after less than 6 hrs gameplay.

I'm taking it back next weekend!

Yup, I have pretty much given up on a decent wireless for PS2, it's wierd
because thew Wavebird for the Gamecube works great. Wonder why they can't make
a decent wireless for PS2?

Sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle-Motion.

Best of the wireless controllers for the PS2 is the Logitech one.
Rest is junk...

I just got the new AirFlo wireless controllers with the fan in them and they
work GREAT! Very responsive, and from long distances too!

I recently broke my logitech playing SSX3, the D-pad lugs that hold it in
snapped. I have really enjoyed using it, but it is expensive to replace. I
may look for something cheaper.
