Hold down the a or b button (forget which) when its booting up and you can
choose progressive scan, and you calibrate with two targets, one in the
centre then one in the corner of the screen. Check back if you have any
trouble.

i assume you're getting the 2-point calibration. I just tried it again
myself and did a quick calibration and found the same problems you describe.
However I then went back and did the calibration more carefully, using the
sights to aim at the centre target then at the corner target. You need to
get this exactly right for it to work properly in progressive scan. Works
fine on my Samsung 61" RPTV. The aim doesn't go all the way to the edges,
but you don't really need that to play the game.
When I first bought TC2 for some reason progressive scan wasn't coming up
automatically, and when I posted about the same problem in this group I was
told lightguns won't work on 100hz TV's full stop, so that justified the
purchase of a second PS2 for the bedroom. I discovered the progressive scan
later...damn shame that. :-)
I discovered though that my G-Con1 doesnt work on it, but nevermind, Im
happy!

ah yes, that right, I forgot about the change to 100hz. I remember at the
time thinking it strange that they didn't have instructions for people with
100hz TV's.
TC2 is a great game, but way too short. Are there any other lightgun games
out for the PS2?
Is this Gcon2 backwards compatible. If it keep it I might want to
start checking out the older PSX light games, especially Point Blank
