8mb Memory Card Shortage?

I've looked everywhere in my local area for memory cards for PS2 and
everyone is OUT!

Is Sony having trouble getting enough out to the market or what?

I think there was some talk of a shortage due to a surge in sales or
something, but they'll probably get more out soon.

I have seen alot at stores in my area lately...
most stores in my area had constantly been
out of them, but they seem to be everywhere here
lately.
