He may be a troll, but truth be told, I was salivating over some of the
titles for the DC. Now I ain't no system whore - I've got a PSX, N64,
DC (import and US), and even shelled out six bones for an import PS2.
But to be honest, for the game genre I'm interested in, I'll be spending
a lot more software dollars in Sega's house.

I think people are expecting way too much out of the PS2. If I had seen
it January 1999 before I saw the DC in action, I would have been
freaking out. As it is, having had an import DC for over a year now, my
attitude is one of ambivalence. While I went out and got one (just had
a yearning), the PS2 really isn't leaps and bounds past the competition.

I honestly compare the DC/PS2 think much like PSX/N64. Sure the N64
looks better on average, but it's not a huge difference. I was not
knocked off my socks the first time I played RR5. But only system
whores care about the whole console debate. I'm a game whore. Need for
Speed will likely never show up on a DC, so I have to buy a PS2.
Likewise, Crazy Taxi will never show up on the PS2, so I bought a DC.

I wish people would realize they spend more cash on software and just
buy one of each console (assuming you spend $1000+ a year on this
stuff). But I guess those that can't afford it become trolls who live
under bridges waiting for spare change to fall through the cracks. Sad.

I am far from a Sony Fanboy (I write for a Sega only site) but my point was
that BS like that was being spewed out against the DC last year and sega
ruled this year.

I tell you what, I can't wait till next year it is going to be sweet.

I believe you are wrong about that. Sega had a very impressive showing, but
at the time everybody just assumed that it didn't matter in the long run
because the PS2 would blow it out of the water. Kind of like, "wow, these
games are amazing - can you just IMAGINE what the PS2 is going to be like!"
Maybe that's why people actually believed it when they read that the PS2
would feature film quality graphics in real time.

Well, let's see: its from the same "respectable" magazine all you PS2 fans
had no problems quoting in the past.
It was referred to many many time in the past as a "proof" that the PS2
would rule.

But all of a sudden, Daily Radar jumped ship, became biassed, posts crap.

Let's be fair. Daily Radar was a PS2 fan once but they see what you are all
blind for:
that the PS2 is an over-hyped, problematic (very hard to program for, no
FSAA, only 4 MB VRAM) and so far dissappointing (dissappointing graphics,
jaggies, bad E3 showing) console.
The best thing they could show at E3 was a VIDEO of MGS2!!!

Just face it!

It isn't being called the jaggies machine without a reason...
Developpers aren't complaining without a reason...
Oddworld isn't dropped without a reason...

Yes it is :)

It is already looking good. Sure the PS2 will sell like hotcakes,
but the dreamcast is maturing, and that is the hardest part of any
console. It has stable games, stable developers and sega can fill
the holes of any genre that a third party doesn't/wont fill.

With online gaming, rpg's and new sports games rolling out, the
dc will be hard to beat. 6 months from now the gaming industry
will be again re-defined and no matter how many pre-sales the
PS2 does, the DC will have the maturity of code/developers
and knowledge and the PS2 will take the year or two to earn
that maturity giving the market plenty of room to duke it out. and
by then, hell the dc will be 4-5 years old and the next best thing will come
out.

The only game i want on DC is Abes World, and now with
Bleem, its all mine and i don't have to worry about getting another
PSX that will burn out :)

Firstly, this quotation lark works both ways. The only time I have ever
pasted a URL to one of it's articles (other than sharing the latest game
developments with this group) is when it was written by an outsider,
such as a programmer, who was clarifying the much bullshit and myths
perpetuated by single minded fools like yourself.
Regardless of this, the fact still remains, many of the quotes you have
posted above are flawed and are therefore worthless.

> Let's be fair. Daily Radar was a PS2 fan once but they see what you

I agree that it has indeed been over-hyped, and I suspect many others
here will agree also. But even the Dreamcast, initially, had it's fair
share of over enthusiastic journalist drooling over it (one of the worst
lines I ever heard was that Dreamcast's in-game graphics were better
than the PlayStation's pre-rendered footage!!!.) The point is, hype is
everywhere.
And yes, to a certain extent, it has also caused various programmers
who are not finding it easy adapting, some problems. But this is all
part of the course, as you will see. However, 4 MB of VRAM is
not a disadvantage (why can't you get this message through your thick
skulls?).
And then there is the biggest reason yet why you are a FOOL.
And that is you say it is "so far a disappointing console", but yet you
seem to forget that the bloody thing hasn't even seen the light of day
in most countries, and a lot of the games that you often criticise are
still at Beta stage!. Bearing this in mind only a fool would make
predictions at such an early time. And if you know this already it's
even worse because only fanboys would choose to ignore it. as a
point of fact.

> The best thing they could show at E3 was a VIDEO of MGS2!!!

Yes, and what's wrong with that? Sega, too, showcased many up and
coming titles in video form (e.g. Sonic Adventure 2).
Again, it's evident you are desperately looking for holes to pick at.

> Just face it!
>
> It isn't being called the jaggies machine without a reason...

But as effective AA solutions are implemented that reason will
soon dissipate. What will you moan about then?

> Developpers aren't complaining without a reason...

I don't hear developers in Europe complaining. Do you?
No, didn't think so.

> Oddworld isn't dropped without a reason...

There is. And if you look back some threads you'll find a few
discussions about it.

Well, it really depends on the editor. If you ask Sega editor Greg Orlando,
he will tell you unabashedly that Sega dominated E3. Aaron Loeb pretty much
said the same thing. If you read anything by that Sony editor Dan Egger,
you'll hear a much different story. His latest tag for Sega's showing at E3?
A "scrappy little competitor". Someone should succinctly point out to him
that the PS2 hasn't even been launched in the US yet, no presell numbers, no
sell-through numbers, nothing. The only thing that Sony has to show for the
US market right now is a lot of smack-talk and hype. Someone should also
point out to him that Dreamcast is already out and it has an installed base.
In other words, Sony hasn't won shit yet, that remains to be seen. No, this
fool won't ever acknowledge any success or give due respect to Sega, even if
it stares him in the face. That's why when I read him, I don't get
upset--some people can't be saved from the hype. God bless him....

I also own just about every system and will buy a PS2
when it comes out in the US. I have played my friends
import PS2 and nothing so far has really been that great.
This is really disappointing to me as I was amazed at my
original playstation when it first came out. It seems to me
that there are to many compromise and limitations on what
was supposed to be the king of the next-gen machines. I mean
the console is not even out over here and Sony and game
developers are making excuses for it. It does not make any
difference how great your system is if developers find it to
hard to program. Hope sony gets it together before the US
launch. And for gods sake I hope they get rid of those jaggies
because they are making the games look like crap.

I knew the trolls would have a field day with this. What were people
expecting from a machine that was launched 2 months ago - the second coming
of the messiah? Would people like to remember the amount of software the DC
had 2 months after release? If the PS2 is such a nightmare to work with
what the fuck are EA, Epic, Namco, Square, Konami, Lionhead, Shiny, Capcom
and practically every single big software company doing developing for the
machine?

So now the PS2's honeymoon is over the wolves are lining up to take shots at
it - not very ingenious of Daily Radar who were until recently having daily
"why the PS2 will change the face of gaming".

I really doubt this is the end of the PS2 - however impressive the DC might
have been it's doing absolutely nothing outside the USA and Sega are not
doing anything about this either. Is it any surprise that most people who
are hostile to the DC are from outside the US?

Like I said when you're on top everyone wants to bring you down - Sony has
been on top for so long the wolves are baying for its blood.

I still think it will be a massive success - it has the games that appeal to
both the hardcore and casual gamer (one of the DC's biggest weaknesses) and
the DVD playback is a big bonus. I haven't read or seen anything at E3 to
indicate otherwise - developers bitching about new hardware is old news.
Until they start abandoning the machine in droves and it does not sell well
in the west reports of its iminent demise should be taken with a huge pinch
of salt.

Sheesh - all this FUD is starting to get to me. Perhaps I should get a DC
after all...

Sorry, I succumbed to a moment of insanity there - the POWERDUDE will never
abandon his cause - to fight trolls with deadly force and repel the mad
hordes of seganoids intent on swamping this ng with their crap.

Never fear, Powerdude is here!

PD!

PS2 like a ROCK! (If you can't beat 'em...)

Dan Egger is a special person. He writes for Sony on DailyRadar but he's also a
reviewer in ....

Official DC Magazine.

Go figure.

Reminds me of Randy Nelson, he was PSX-biased, then he went to the Sega Camp,
and Ooops, now he's on Sony's camp.

Go figure again.

The only website guys that I really respect are Gamespot's and Chris Slate from

It seems that even Daily Radar is willing to speak honestly

Yeah, I don't quite get that one either. Which types of games, exactly, is
the Dreamcast going to be lacking by the end of the year, and especially
within the next entire year? It looks like almost every remaining niche
will be filled before long, and the DC will have a major niche - online
games - filled well before the PS2 does.

Not what I said - I just don't think it has games that appeal to the many
outside the hardcore Sega fans, at least here in Europe (and probably in
most places outside the US).

Before I get ravaged by the DC defenders in this ng I would like to
apologise for my post appearing here. I didn't notice it had been
cross-posted to both PS2 and DC ngs and I don't want to be mistaken for a
troll - I'd get slaughtered by the genuine trolls in the PS2 ng for sheer
hypocrisy (how's it going Nerraw?).

Problem is that not only Daily Radar is disappointed.

"Ultimately, the problem is that the PS2 just isn't the leap that Sony
promised; the sheer brilliance of the tech demos we saw last year are
nowhere to be found in this current crop of software. Yeah, I know--give 'em
time. But will the developers have the patience to try and force that black
box to do what Sony promised? Reports from the show floor reveal that
several dev teams are not amused at the discrepancies between the promises
and the reality of the PS2. Perhaps what made me most nervous about the
PlayStation 2 display was that so much of it was taken up by units showing
off the system's DVD playback. I know that "The Matrix" and "Stuart Little"
look great on a Wega television. I showed up at E3 to see games. And to do
so, I had to go elsewhere than the anemic Sony pavilion"

Also what you are forgetting is that very few of the DC games shown will be
released here in Europe, as Sega have given up everywhere outside the US, so
we really could not give a shit.
Accept it you yanks, there will always be a LOT of resentment against Sega
because the DC is practically dead everywhere outside the US, so your
optimism seems utterly ridiculous to everyone outside the states. And there

I think you've hit on something here, something that made the Japanese
launch seem anti-climactic as well: the hype. The hype for PS2 has been
enormous and far beyond what the machine delivered (or still delivers).
Not /all/ the hype was Sony's doing, but quite a bit of it was. Some of
it was just the huge success of PSX and people thinking it must rub off
on PS2 (though no company has held total dominance through a
generational change, so this is a bit illogical). Sega, on the other
hand, had "hype" like people saying "this is Sega's last show" (in 99).

I think there's a lot to be said for being the underdog with zero
expectations. Every bit of press you get, every good review and every
feature has to be fought for and earned. The press and gamers were (and
still are, to some extent) terribly pessimistic about Sega, so they
don't get articles in Newsweek saying that they'll rule the world with a
game box.

With no hype and no expectations, you can't be dissapointed. People have
such low expectations that everything for DC is a pleasant surprise,
while PS2 has expectations of being the second coming. When PS2 ends up
just playing games (a mixed bag of them, at that) then its a terrible
dissapoinment. Sony certainly didn't help the situation by having this
attitude at E3 that they've already beaten Dreamcast and not trying to
compete with Sega (and their packed booth) at all.

Basically because Sony has its massive media machine spewing forth its
poisonous hype-laden air, proclaiming PS2 to be the best thing since sliced
bread. That was before developers actually got down to the game-making
process. There's no doubt developers are struggling with the machine. As
much as Sony people like to think that anti-aliasing isn't a problem, when
you hear game after game having difficulty with it, there must be something
to it.

But it's really too late for that now. PS2 will be a success regardless of
the complexity of the machine. Dreamcast STILL has better games and a better
show at E3, though, you all better recognize...

> So now the PS2's honeymoon is over the wolves are lining up to take shots
at
> it - not very ingenious of Daily Radar who were until recently having

This is part of the problem, quotes like this are utter garbage and are
primarily responsible for all this back and forth banter in the NGs. If none
of these promises and claims ("PS2 changing the face of gaming") were ever
made, or better yet, if they were actually KEPT we'd all be a million times
happier for Sony. But like you said, the honeymoon is over. Codeshops are
finding out how difficult it is to get results from the PS2, and its
architecthure, what was once called "intriguing" is now considered
"difficult". The overwhelming support of the industry will ensure its
success, however.

Of course it isn't over for PS2, it hasn't even been launched outside of
Japan yet. What's really disconcerting is that many people think it's
already over for SEGA, and that is still very up in the air, and more and
more it's looking like Dreamcast is here to stay. Put THAT in your pipe and
smoke it...

>

I agree, there are as many Sega trolls as there are Sony ones. What I can't
for the life of me figure out though is why the Sony trolls only post to the
Sega NG, while the Sega trolls like to cross-post. It's almost like the
"Seganoids" want to be respectable about trolling...

Unlike the majority of trolls here I'm big enough (literally and otherwise)
to admit making mistakes - I didn't notice the crossposter and hence was
mortified to see my reply appear in the DC ngs which I frequently trawl but
never troll. I don't apologise for what I said however.

And most of us in this ng are on the same wavelength which is a real pity
for you sad trolls. So I have no problem with Ste or any of the other
faithful second-guessing me - they get it right most of the time - unlike
you FUD kings.

I agree it has its problems like all consoles but the fact is for every
developer bitching about it you have the likes of EA, Konami and Namco
keeping quiet and pounding out the great games. Most developers are way too
pampered anyway - I should know - and love to bitch about the limitations of
the hardware rather than admit to their own limitations. The PS2 is a
challenge to program - which is why I expect the best developers to rise to
the challenge and push themselves and the machine to its limits. The rest
of them can piss off to the PC and Xbox for all I care!

Yeah but let's have some perspective - the DC has been out since Nov 98 -
the PS2 since Mar 00. Compared to both the DC and PSX launches it has a
pretty amazing launch lineup.

The reason why the DC has been written off is because despite having over a
year's head start it hasn't sold well outside the US and even there it's not
that impressive considering it has no next-gen competition. If Sony and
Nintendo are worried by the Xbox I don't see how Sega can be anything but
marginalised - they simply don't have the marketing muscle or know-how to
shift a lot more machines. Even Sega themselves have admitted that so far
only the hardcore have bought the DC - hence the move to a different
business model.

Same problem I had with the Saturn and N64 - a couple of decent games but
the rest was pure filler to me. Some games you are never into - like Sega
arcade games - and some you grow out of - Nintendo's kiddie games (although
I would kill for a Super Metroid update!). I expect the PS2 will have the
bulk of exclusive 3rd party games that I like and I have a lot more faith in
Sony being able to fight off the competition than Sega. For me a console is
an investment and I can't justify investing in a company with dubious
returns and a poor history. Narrow-minded? Perhaps. But when you've gone
through the grief I did with the likes of Atari you are reluctant to get
involved with another company with a troubled history. So far I've been
more than satisfied with Sony's performance, but I wouldn't be slow to ditch
them if they became complacent and lost the goodwill they've taken great
pains to build up with both consumers and developers. Loyalty only goes so
far after all!

> moto

PD!

P.S. I noticed this was cross-posted but I will leave it so because I think
it does have relevance to both ngs - I think it demonstrates we can have
reasonable discussions about the merits/demerits of both machines without it
degenerating into mindless trolling. I regret to say this about my Sony
bretheren but Sony trolls in the DC ng are just as loathsome as DC ones in
the PS2 ng. Those that contribute nothing but bile should FUD off and die!

Hmm, I only hope it doesn't become another Saturn. As I understand it, the
Sat was a pain to program for and most developers didn't bother to discover
how to do it properly. CTP: Alient Trilogy vs Exhumed. Both 3D walkarounds,
only one had a draw distance over about 10 feet because they got to grips
with it.

Personally, I think we will see a few class A titles, followed up by
hundreds of mediocre, badly programmed titles that will jyst flood the
market.

I would love the developers to prove me wrong though....

Wise words at last!

Man, you should stick around in the PS2 group and counter-fight the dc
trolls with your powers of reason or something.

And you are right that the DC will be a console that every serious gamer
MUST have, but outside of america it is too expensive and the library is too
small just now.

Next year though, when you can get it for £100 it`ll be worth getting. Just
like how the N64 is now, you can get it for £40 and have access to some of
the best games ever.

Well, the games now have the problem, and we're talking games with huge
budgets and the best programmers. If they haven't been able to fix the
problem by now, it must be pretty big. Maybe it can be overcome, but if the
big boys are having difficulty with it then you know the average developers
are going too, also.

>everyone complains about the sony hype machine.......if it werent for that
>the ps1 wouldnt have sold as many machines and it is because of the number
>of machines sold that lots of games got released for it

More like the other way around in reality. The Playstation became popular
not because of Sony's "hype machine" but because it had so many games
released for it. It was easy to program for, see, and didn't have media
limitations like the N64 (which was supposed to kill the Playstation if you
remember, much like the PS2 is supposed to kill the Dreamcast.)

Sony's name and marketing savvy were enough to get Playstation a start in
the market, but it's overall success was due to the machine itself.

> and it is all the
>games that make a console a success..........not sitting in a corner
>complaining that you are losing

Well, if that's true then the Dreamcast will undoubtedly be a success,
because the games are excellent, and surprisingly high in number considering
the lack of faith in it's future by the development community and the
absence of some of the biggest publishers in the industry.

The reason seems pretty clear - it's relatively easy to make a good game,
under budget and on time for the Dreamcast. That's exactly what made the
Playstation such a popular machine.

Yeah, it's taken longer than everybody had hoped, but the online games are
coming - soon. They will be here for this holiday season, and many are
already in playable shape as shown at E3. How long do you think PS2 owners
will have to wait before they get games online? A year and a half from now
would be very optimistic, I think.

Probably relegated to #2 at best, but on the way out, I doubt it. The
Japanese DC owners will continue to buy games and the ownership figures will
slowly but steadily creep upward over the next year, unless one of the games
just blows the Japanese away and convinces them to run out and get a
Dreamcast. That's unlikely to happen, but there are several exclusive RPG's
coming up that should convince enough Japanese gamers to make the Dreamcast
their 2nd machine, considering the investment is low.

I don't know about Europe, but the DC has sold pretty well there so far and
should pick up when they start seeing more of the titles we have in the US.
Ecco the Dolphin might also help - it looks like a system seller to me.

I can't say much about the UK (is it still around?), but the DC is not
dead in Japan. Yes, it has performed below expectations, but now that
the Japanese have gotten a good look at the PS2 and the DC has real
RPG's coming, I think the DC will do OK over there for a while. It
will never have the PSX/PS2 market share, but Sega will carve out a
market segment for themselves.

All I care about is the games, and after reading all about E3, most of the
games I'm interested happen to be on Dreamcast. But PS2, speaking in
relative terms, does have a launch lineup that is as impressive as
Dreamcast's US launch lineup. I'd actually be disappointed if it wasn't :-)

Well, the Dreamcast isn't dead in the US, far from it, as a matter of fact.
You can't just laugh off 2 million strong Dreamcast owners, there's some
serious spending power there (especially if they're hardcore). Also, the
network strategy and online gaming/ISP business model was thought up a
looong time before the US launch, by Brad Huang in May of 99 (I think), so
that doesn't have anything to do with the market today. Sega's been planning
this all along, and IMO it's a very good plan, indeed. Online gaming/built
in modem will be one of Sega's pillars of strength, and it will be an asset
to the company when PS2 arrives. And while the PS2 preorder numbers are very
strong (in my area, about 1000 (!)preorders before the cutoff last night),
it remains to be seen how PS2 will do with a $300 price point+one
memorycard+one game compared to something that can be free or $150
+VMU+game. I think one year from now the finishing places will all shake
out, and I insist to remain neutral on the matter :-p

This is the first reasonable argument I've heard for not getting a system in
a long time. That's exactly why I don't have an N64 (no Earthbound 64,
damnit! If you dig Earthbound then go to http://www.starman.net and sign the
petition!) Hey, if you don't like the games, then don't buy it. If you don't
have faith in said investment, cool. It's your world, Powerdude ;-)...

For me, the games speak for themselves. I have a Dreamcast because of the
games, and E3 only gave me more faith in my Dreamcast, just because off all
the incredible GAMES to pick up. I feel my investment has already been paid
back in full by the likes of Soul Calibur, Crazy Taxi, and the promise of
Q3, 18 Wheeler, and PSO. Games, games, games, it's all about the games. Play
on, and on whatever system you have...

Well sorry if it's cross posting automatically but I am not inclined to edit
the Ng address wasting time, I have posted and will continue to post
intelligent information for the DC & PS2 Ng., everything else is sheer
madness to pay the Son's of Sony back with a taste of their own medicine,

same polishing or wit I offer, they intentionally wish to get their messages

The only problem with this logic is who in their right minds want to wait a
year for something they can have now, next year the X-Box and Dolphin will
be all over the place and again it will be a whole new ball game, my point
is why should I walk to work for six month's when I can drive a car
available now instead of waiting for one with tinted windows chrome plated
fenders, and if there are cars which offer 80Klm to the litre next year then
why not just burn out this car and when the real value machines show up grab
one of them.

I think both did pretty well considering their relative release dates. If
Sony disappoints at next year's E3 then I expect the obituary writers (aka

I think that pretty much explains much of the hostility towards Sega over
here - they are doing absolutely nothing and are nowhere to be seen. Where
the hell are all the free promotions and big games that are out already in
the US. They seem to have decided to compete in only one market - which is
the biggest one to be sure but not to the extent that you can ignore the
rest of the world. That's probably due to their financial position but as
is true in many other businesses you have to spend money to make money.
Sega seem to be following Nintendo's method of saturating the US and
ignoring the rest of the world. The problem with that is when the US market
gets saturated what then? It won't be easy to then suddenly start taking an
interest in Europe when consumers here will be buying the PS2 in droves and
forgetting about the DC.

Same here - The one game that really had me hooked on Nintendo was Super
Metroid. I think because the game didn't do so well in Japan they never
considered doing an update. I was tempted when Zelda came out - but by then
I was well into my PSX and couldn't justify getting the N64 just for one
game.

I can relate to that - GT2000, Wipeout, RR5 (I likes me racing games!) TTT,
MGS2 - are what I'm getting the PS2 for. And no the jaggies are not going

Whoa whoa whoa!

Why the hell should I invalidate my warranty and then have to pay to ship a
game 1500 miles just to play it? Its just plain stupid.

Doa2 won't eb out over here for another 2 months whilst everyone else in the
world has played it and traded it by then. I mean, a PAL conversion is NOT
THAT HARD REALLY. Especially with the 60hz option. What the hell are Sega
doing? Where are the adverts? Why is it that virtually no-one knows about
the DC?

Sega can't do this and then whinge that the user base is too small.

Well you've sort of got a point about the warranty, not one I
agree with, but I can understand it....but there's no need to
have to pay for shipping like that. There are some decent import
stores in the UK (projectk.com, gamesterminal.com and cex.co.uk
spring to mind)

And international shipping isn't that bad anyway -- I've just
bought a PSX game from a US online store and it cost me the
equivalent of £30 -- and that's *including* shipping...

Oh i want a DC, but one and a few games will cost more than £300, which i`d
rather spend on a PS2. Mostly because me and my pals need some new Tekken
tournaments and i really want a DVD player, and standalone players cost a
lot here cost a lot here so i`d rather get one for free. I have a very low
paying job and prefer to spend my pathetic disposable income on PS and PC
games, beer, going out, etc. I can really only start saving for one
console(and consistently buy games for only one new one).
So unless the price of the DC is something that won`t take me months to save
up for, i decide to save my meagre cash for the PS2 and some games and
DVD`s.
It`s all about cash man, just because i think the PS2 is better doesn`t mean
i don`t ever want a DC.

!?
Do you think the UK is backward or something? Nearly every town has an
import shop, my local one is ace, but obviously the games cost more (about
£50-£60) and apart from maybe there is no game that would give me its
money`s worth just yet.

And i`ll admit, it also has a little to do with status. Saying to my pals
that i have just bought a DC would be met with a cocked eyebrow or two and a
few laughs at my expense (and they are not computer/console freaks at all).
But come October 29th when i phone them to say that i`ve just got a PS2 will
be met with them all quickly pounding on my door for a go and then months of
joyous Tekken/NHL2001/GT2000/UnrealTourney/RR5 tournaments will commence.
Childish maybe, but thats the number one advantage has over the DC outside
the US, right now a game boy color would arouse more interest in the casual
gamers than a DC would here, yet the PS2`s interest is still gigantic and
will only get bigger.

Correct, only BIG companies with enough $$$ to actually make it
work. Forget about small(er) companies. Graphics are nice and

The Dreamcast is selling very good over here in Europe and games
are released for the system on a weekly basis. A steady flow of
games is very good, we've had a steady flow from the beginning.

The Dreamcast has a lot of games for the 'casual gamer', Crazy

Senor Llama, ole! Instead of yapping about how bad Sega is,
perhaps you should try and play some DC games for a while. I've

It's got every chance in the world, X-BOX can only succeed if MS & BG spend
a couple billion giving them away for free, but don't tell them that, let

See that's a honest opinion, you really want the PS2 no matter which is the
most accessable, this is fair, if you want it that's fine, but honestly your
missing out on some great games on the DC, I would rather import a DC & some
great games than a PS2 and what games they have so far, if you had spent the
time with the DC I have and the PS2 which I don't have but used at my local
import shop, you would feel the same way.

Well just having a DVD player wont make your finances any better, I know
first hand, I have spent over 2 grand on DVD movies and rented a few too,
but it's become a adiction I must now lose or I will be in the poor house,
thankfully I have most of my favorite movies now and will not need too many
hundreds more.

It was said, that it was not known or there was anything swell about it
bewilders me, anyone that could not see I like the DC but was offering
information which I have previously stated I planned on getting a PS2 when
GT2K was released just was not paying attention.

So what if I boast the DC, or the PS2 or anything else, this is a Ng related
subject and I like anyone is allowed to offer any related news, opinions or
comments, that's what Ng are for.

The reason I'm "pushing" the DC is that Sony was using PR-capabilities to
crush Sega . It would indeed be a shame if the DC didn't get a chance
because people thought it was a dinosaur.
Ofcause the PS2 is faster when it boils down to it, but that's not the
point. The point is that Sega HAS got the best games. Anyone who denies that
is a fan in my book. I've seen a PS2 running TTT along side a DC running
Soul Calibur, and there was NO doubt that SC was the most playable as well
as the most beautiful. As for racing titles, well screenshots show that
titles such as "Tokyo Extreme Racer 2" and "Metropolis Street Racer" are
looking every bit as gourgeous as RRV and GT2000.
So there you are.... Not beeing a fan IMO, just trying to even the scales a
bit.

Take note, those arn't Sega's games. There more like third-party games.
