Nemesis in RE2?!...

I've recently dug out Resident Evil 2 just for kicks, and after
finishing the LeonA portion of the game, I began playing the
ClaireB portion.

But something has happened that hasn't happened before. As
I move Claire off of the helipad, and into the doorway next
to the water tank valve maintainance entrance, a movie plays
showing a chopper dropping a large figure dressed in a black
trenchcoat. Now I'm about 3/5 thru the ClaireB portion, and
I have yet to see him again. Is this the infamous Nemesis
creature that appears in RE3?

I did douse the poor bugger rather heavily with acid grenades,
so that would explain his "interesting" appearance. :-)

Actually that character is only referred to as Mr. X although he may be a
mutation of the Tyrant from the first game.Off topic but Tyrant makes an
appearance on RE:CV as well and it appears he's been working out on his down
time!
