RAR format.. what is it?

Not really [a PITA]....it's simply another way of compressing
files....if you don't have it already, look for a program called
WinRAR and it'll do to RAR's what WinZIp does to Zip...I kinda like
the RAR's, they have a thing where if you have multiple RAR's of one
big file, it'll process them all with one click, rather than having to
do each one separately. I think I read somewhere that RAR is supposed
to have a little bit better compression ratio, but not 100% sure..

Ahhh....A strugglin' warez'er don't know what to do with a .rar
file?...what would you do with an ace file have you opened an nfo
and read it yet lots of good info in those too ! Downloads.com find
Winrar look for ace archiver too... may need that some day.
