Although Ubi Soft recently announced its new Tom Clancy title Splinter Cell
</game/1025228> for the Xbox and the PC, IGN

also coming for the PS2. Ubi Soft neglected to speak about the PS2 version, as
it will not release until after the Xbox game. "Splinter Cell is planned for
PS2 but only after XBox and probably only in 2003," a Ubi Soft representative

Splinter Cell Confirmed for PS2
That MGS2 killer everybody is talking about is coming to the PS2. (IGN)
April 22, 2002 - It's hard to make the claim that any game is truly better than
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, which yes, had a lot of conversation, and
did play a lot like a movie, but those are weaknesses that we can live with.
With each new year, however, another developer comes along, and attempts to
create something better, more fantastic, and over-the-top than the last year's
best effort.
Ubi Soft's Splinter Cell is apparently on par to become one hell of a
third-person action-adventure game, and some pundits are even willing to go so
far as to day that it's even better than Hideo Kojima's masterpiece. How dare
they!

But seriously, Ubi Soft today did confirm with IGNPS2 that Splinter Cell is
indeed coming to PlayStation 2, after its Xbox and PC debut.

"Splinter Cell is planned for PS2 but only after XBox and probably only in
2003," said a Ubi Soft representative.
