(1) What is the communication port for?
(2) What is the cartridge slot for? Genesis carts don't fit in there.
(3) Are there memory cards available? The internal memory on the SS
isn't really large.
(4) What if I wanted to import games...do I have to get a convertor or
something? I don't want to modchip my system if I don't have to.
(5) What WWF wrestling games were released for this system?
(6) How many games used the Analog controller exclusively? I know of
one...Nights into Dreams.
(7) Along with my SS, I bought Virtua Fighter 2, Virtua Cop, Daytona
USA, Panzer Dragoon, and Nights Into Dreams. Good choices, bad
choices?
(8) How's Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for the SS?
(9) And How are all the Street Fighter series games?
(10) WHat is the 4MB rom cart amd what does it do? I heard about it
from somewhere.
That's it for now...write back...I'll be back in the AM to check if
anyone wrote back.

Expansion cards like the GameShark.

GameShark (only offers memory for saved games), 4-in1, 5-in-1 etc.

The GameShark allows you to play imports without having to
mod the console. I have one if you're interested.

Was the Daytona the SSE or the original version? Neither was
all that great a game. The two sequals to Panzer were amazing
Saga being one of the best games ever made.
> (1) What is the communication port for?
Linking two Saturns with a cable, like the Playstation's serial port.
> (2) What is the cartridge slot for? Genesis carts don't fit in there.
Saturn carts. RAM, ROM, modem, AR.

Yes.

An Action Replay would do, except it won't play Panzer Dragoon Saga. The
modchip only helps with playing copies, not imports.

If there is more than zero, "too many".

Exclusively? IIRC, Nights can also be controlled with a regular pad.
Surprisingly many games support the 3D contoller, just try it and see.

If you enjoy the games, they're good choices. If you don't, I'm sure you
can sell them on to someone else.
> (8) How's Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for the SS?
Crap, just like all other MK games.
> (9) And How are all the Street Fighter series games?
Better, but of course that's just my opinion. SFZ3 is yummy!

AFAIK, there's no 4MB ROM carts, only 1MB, and the only games that have
those are Ultraman and King of Fighters '95. You are probably referring
to the RAM carts, and well, they provide a memory expansion for the
machine. They come in 1MB and 4MB varieties, and the 4MB ones should
work as 1MB expansions too. See the list at
http://www.shinforce.com/saturn/RAMCompatibility.htm . Note that the RAM
carts were only released in Japan, so you don't need one unless you're
planning on getting imports. If you are, I recommend an Action Replay
cart, as they work for running imports, 1/4MB RAM and provide backup
memory.

Both Daytona USA games were pretty decent for when they came out. So
many "gamers" complain about the graphics on the first daytona and all
the "pop-up" but it's really not noticable when you are actually
playing the game. The game's only low point is the graphics, the
gameplay and sound are right on target. Daytona CCE with the 3D
analog pad is neat, the triggers work like actual gas and brake pedals
and respond to how hard you press them. Show me any other console
that had a racing game that featured analog triggers back in 1996?
Virtua Fighter 2, both Virtua Cops, etc are great ports of the arcade
games. Nights speaks for itself as a great game. Street fighter and
the other capcom 2D fighting games are good.
Hope it helps. The saturn is a great console, my favorite.

Remember to avoid the Street Fighter the Movie game. It is considered to
be wretched, so don't make the mistake that it is a normal Street
Fighter game...
Make sure to grab the import only game, "Capcom Generation 5".
But ONLY if you consider yourself a DIEHARD street fighter fan.
CG5 has SF II, SF II: CE and SF II Turbo.
The CPU AI for those games have been JACKED UP. Even Level One is fricking
hard!
But yes, if you want to relive the good old days, CG5 does a solid job.
