The negativity is spreading like a cancer. Who will buy any new DC games
now? I won't.. Just wait til there all under $15.00 (probably by this Xmas
for sure). Just go thru the ads. What idiot would sign up with Seganet now?
I told you weeks ago that Seganet subscribership had peaked out, And after
NFL2K1, the novelty had worn off. Who listened? Look at ebay keyboard
prices. Were selling for $25-30. Now $15 and under. Or included in system
packages.
I knew something was wrong when the stores here in NJ(Best Buy, Circuit
City,TRU's) were not restocking. Did they know sooner?? I mentioned here it
and most of you said it was great sales. Well......... I couldn't say it on
Sunday, but the guy at Target said they were clearing the Dreamcast stuff
out.
What is really sad is the Dreamcast was beaten by, Two $99 almost dead
consoles and one you can't get(PS2). Confidence is fading quickly, word is
spreading fast. Look at ebay. Prices are falling and people are unloading.
I feel sorry for those who chose to buy a DC for Xmas, and not the PS2. But
will have to go and buy a PS2 anyway. Wow!

Why, because they will be able to find 100s of games for under $20? I mean
really, my heart bleeds for someone that can pick up Soul Calibur and Crazy
Taxi for $20! What kind of logic is it that you are using?

You must not like good games. I plan on buying PSO, Daytona 2001 (already have
the import), Sonic 2 and other great Dreamcast games. I don't care what system
it's on- a good game is a good game.
All systems will eventually be phased out. Stop thinking that systems will last
forever... well, maybe the Gameboy. (just kidding)
The good side is a lot of GREAT DC games are going to be cheap now. And next
year the focus will be on the other next-gen consoles, so you don't have to
worry about having too many consoles to divide your money on.
Really, I love my Dreamcast and love the stack of great games I have for it and
the handful of future games I'm going to buy... but Sega phasing out the
hardware is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Pity really, because it still has better ganes than the PSX2. If you like
games, when I can't see the logic in what you say. I still have a 3DO
console and it's still in some ways better than many newer consoles. I
would still argue that it's better than the PSX1

Why would people unload? My God, the Dreamcast saved me thousands of dollars
by not having to buy the Naomi version of MvC2. If people who currently own a
DC don't have at least one compelling reason to keep it, then I'm speechless.

I wouldn't mind hearing that argument. I've never heard anyone say that
before. I also know diddly about the 3DO.

They didn't lie. They refused to comment on those reports. They are
committed to releasing DC games for at least the next 15-18 months.

Why is the set-top deal dead? Pace certainly knew they planned to stop
sellin DC tech in a console form. Pace, selling its hardware at a profit,
probably prefers not to be competing with hardware being sold at a loss
(the console version).

If a game's worth it, I'll buy it. All games drop to a budget price if
you wait a year or so, and this'll be no different.

Great post. I agree entirely.
I've loved very few consoles over the years. I loved the Intellivision
and still own one. I played the NES, Genesis, and SNES but did not love
them. I liked the Jaguar very much, and was sad to see it all but
disappear from the marketplace.
The Dreamcast, though, is like nothing else to me. My love for the
Dreamcast is far beyond my feelings for any other system. I'll hold onto
it forever, and I'm pleased to see there are games in the pipeline over
at least the next 18 months that I want to own. Jet Grind Radio 2!!!
Shenmue 2! Possibly Nights 2 and Panzer Dragoon Saga Eternal, for Dog's
sake!
Who knows, maybe the Pace STB initiative will be sufficiently
successful to justify further software development beyond 2002. Time will
tell. I know that, for me, it will never be over. I love the Dreamcast
far too much for that.

I don't think fassel plays any games at all. He just trolls these
newsgroups.
Why would he buy any new DC games? He's probably never owned a DC, though
he's claimed to have sold his about 10 times...
Dave, I agree with your post.

Ummm....in my closet are my Genny and SNES. Permanently in my
entertainment center (and constantly in use) are my DC, 2600, and

Gameboy Advanced is essentially a new system. So Gameboy will be
phased out when GBA comes out.
