Sega, please bring your fantastic driving game Daytona USA 2 to the
Dreamcast, as soon as possible. I have been waiting for this game for
the longest time. Ever since I heard about the Dreamcast.
Daytona USA 2 was one of the promised titles for Dreamcast ever since I
can remember. I do not understand why you are so silent on this
subject, Sega, WHY? Not having Daytona on the new Sega console is like
Nintendo not having Zelda on a Nintendo console. As far as I’m
concerned, the Daytona name is as popular as Sonic. People LOVE both
Daytona USA and Daytona 2. Dads sit down with their kids to play
Daytona in the arcades. It would be a KILLER APPLICATION on the
Dreamcast with out a doubt, if marketed properly. I have no doubt a
Daytona title would sell 1 million copies if not more, easily, this
holiday season. Perhaps it won’t be ready until the spring though. Even
that would be fine. IGNDC.com has said on several occasions that
Daytona 2 is in fact done and might be released on Dreamcast. I’d
really appreciate it if someone would let us know *if* and *when*
Daytona USA 2 or “Daytona 500” might be coming out on Dreamcast.

I read on one of the Sega message boards that “Daytona 500” is in
development for DC in Japan, and that it’s an online game for SegaNet.
This was ment to have been from an interview with someone at Sega.com
I’ll post a link to the interview when I can. (it has already been
posted here actualy) I also understand that licensing difficulties
might be the thing that is holding up the release of a Daytona title.
Perhaps Daytona 500 is related to the new Nascar Rubbin’ Racing arcade
game, I don’t know. Yet, I *do* know that many of you out there are
hoping as much as I am for a Daytona game on Dreamcast of some kind.
I hope Sega is listening.

Hey remember that arcade racing........Sega Super GT with only 3 cars,
Porsche 911, Ferrari F40 and Viper? I thought that game is great.....I
would love to see it being ported.

Yes I remember. Scud Racer, called Super GT in the United States,
was the first AM2 racing game on Sega's Model 3 arcade hardware.
It was a beautiful game. Sega even ported the first course to
the Dreamcast step 4 development kit, back in late 1997 when
DC was known as Katana. The quality was said to be just about arcade
perfect. I doubt that it's coming, though. Sega doesn't have the
Porsche license. Super GT is old now and it wasn't that big of a hit.

Yes. Online Daytona racing on Dreamcast would rock. So would
racing with the link cable. Can you imagine that? <^_^>

I hope it comes out too.

I believe this is one of Sega's surprises that they are keeping quiet on
because they know how much demand there is for a Dreamcast version. Expect
to hear nothing on it until Sega wants to let the cat out of the bag.
