Is it any good? I consider myself a big Zelda fan, have played most of them
extensively, many many times. Except Majora's Mask and the two newer
gameboy ones. Mainly because with Majora's Mask, at that time i had no free
time, and also in order to play it, i would need the expansion thing for
N64, and I had all but given up on my N64 system... So, now after playing
Master Quest on gamecube, i think i need to play majora's mask too, since
i've never played that... Info on it? Is it just as good as OOT?

What about the two other gameboy ones? Oracle of the seasons or whatever it
is... what's the deal with those two?

thanks
Jeff

Some people hate Majora's Mask because of the "time limit" but I
thought it was an even better game than OoT. There were alot more fun
things to do in the game, the graphics were better and the "Groundhog
Day" aspect of the game makes it really unique and adds a lot to the
standard Zelda formula of "Go to dungeon, find new item, beat boss,
move onto next dungeon, lather, rinse, repeat..."

The Gameboy games were really good as well, if you loved the other
overhead Zelda games you'll feel right at home with the Oracle games.
They are more cartoony with cute fluffy anipals that help you out and
all that but everything that makes Zelda games good is there. Graphics
wise they look just like Link's Awakening DX but more colorful.

yes, definitely play MM....in many ways it is better than OoT, you will be
amazed at the massive amount of stuff you can do in that game, mostly
involving the characters and how they change over the span of the three
days...tons of sidequests, some mandatory, some not....great puzzles, of
course....

and yes, the GBC games are great as well....oracles of seasons is billed as
the more 'action' oriented game, with more fighting and such, and ages is
the 'cerebral' game, with harder puzzles....(my number of deaths in seasons
was around 70, in ages it was 8...so yeah, there's a difference)...but both
are pure zelda, that's for sure...play them linked....

Yeah, I actually preferred MM to OOT, the time travelling back and forth aspect
really added a new dimension to the gameplay.

Alright, sounds good, based on what everyone's saying, it seems like a fun
game. $20 at EBX i believe, which isn't a bad deal for it. Picked up wayne
gretzkys 3-D hockey tonight for $4.99. I used to love that game. But,
based on what you're all saying, MM seems like a must have.

But they're both completely different games? I loved links awakening, I
remember being 11 or 12 or so, playing links awakening while shoe shopping
with my mom, not putting that GB down. Still have the same GB that i got
for easter in 1990... I'm deciding now whether to by the GBA SP or the
GBPlayer for GC when they come out next month...

i did not care for MM, that time limit/aspect really got to me for two
reasons.

1. i hate being forced to rush in games (unless it's rush n'
attack--nes), i like time to explore without any constraints.

2. i didn't like having events tied to a clock. there were several
events in MM that only took place at certain times. the game forces
one to waste a lot of real time by just standing around waiting for
something that may or may not happen. some things one may be able to
figure out will happen at location X at X o'clock. but many times, it
was go stand over here, now wait and see if any thing happens for the
next two or three game days.

i thought the story was a little weaker than ocarina of time

since i don't want end on a negative note. the graphics were good, i
liked many of the quests, the boss battles were cool and it was like a
continuation of ocarina of time (a very good thing).

mm

yes, the two GBC games are totally different, but after you beat one you get
a password and you can enter it in the other one when you start it, and it
links the games...you'll see when you do it, just don't skip that part!

if you loved link's awakening, this is more of the same, and probably even
better!

Yep Ages and Seasons are two totally different games. Ages' gameplay
revolves around time traveling (works kind of like the Light/Dark
World in Zelda III) and Seasons involves changing the seasons
(surprise!) with a magic wand. For example changing the season to
winter will allow you to walk over a frozen pond that would be
untraversible in the spring, summer, or fall while changing the season
to summer might clear out a big snow patch blocking your way. Great
stuff.

Also, the GB Player doesn't come out in the US until the end of May so
if you're looking for some GBA action soon, the GBA SP is your best
bet.

I found that aspect to be a pain in the ass when you had to do a

frustrating. I must have gotten realllly far in it but I never
finished it. I did a ton of dungeons and everything. The changing into
different guys was a cool aspect. I'm playing Master Quest right now,
just finished Dodongo Cavern, damn what a difference!

techinically MM is far superior to OoT in every way. The clock town bit
where lots of different people are doing lots of different things at
different times is great. the time limit disagrees with some people but
thats a matter of opinion. where it does fail compared to oot is that the
story isnt as "grand". it is pitched as a "side story" and thats exactly
what you feel you are playing - a side story with no real importance. after
kicking ganondorf's butt in oot I felt sorely let down by this game - if it
had carried the story on in a meaningful fashion it would have wiped the
floor with oot as per the technical superiority but who wants to play a side
chapter? its like watching a film about the history of the riders of rohan -
entertaining if done correctly but its no lord of the rings.

I gave up on the N64 when I couldn't get the jumper pack out to put it
in the expansion pack in it's place so I could play Perfect Dark and
other expansion pack enhanced games.

LMAO
it's not very hard...
The expansion pack comes with instructions and a tool to get the jumper pack
out...
unless of course you bought this second hand... in which case it would make a
little bit more sense

Sorry, I should have mentioned I bought it used at gamestop last year.
I love how a store will gladly take money for an item and then not
bother letting you know you'll have trouble installing it. Come to
think of it I think this was the same gamestop where I bought a new
psx gameshark cd that never worked right in any of the playstations my
brother and I own.

Alright
I'll forgive you 100% then :)
If you had instructions and the tool, it's a cinch though
