Starfox: How the hell do I get out of Lightfoot Village?

I'm in Lightfoot Village and need to get back to Thorntail Hollow.
This is the area where a small statue asks for 60 scarabs to allow you
to go to the Cape Claw (the beach area) and there are 3 trees with
targets on them. HOW THE HELL DO I GET OUT??? I posted this question
a few days ago and someone replied to hit the middle tree, then the
farthest tree, then the nearest tree (I assume in relation to the
gate) and the gate supposedly opens. I've done this several times, by
hitting it with the stick and with the flame bullets and it just won't
open. I love this game, but this is a stupid and pointless hurdle
with no obvious way of getting around it. Seems more like a design
bug than a feature.

I accidently stumbled into this area early in the game and couldn't
figure out how to get out so I reset the game and played again. I
avoided this area like the plague and only dared to return when I had
to. I'm now at about 40% complete.

This seems like an intentional stumble for the purpose of selling
those Starfox Walkthough Guides. I'm about to throw my Wavebird into
the TV set, if anyone out there is willing to save the life of a
Wavebird, please let me know the answer!

from that area, to get back to thorntail hollow, you just go back the way
you came, in that cave...the way to thorntail hollow is not blocked....

The original poster: the argument makes no sense. Though I also had trouble
with those trees with targets on them, the problem is how to get IN to
Lightfoot Village (in my case after having exited Lightfoot Village before I
was done in there). Exiting Lightfoot Village is not a problem. If you're
actually in the village, beyond the gate, go up to the gate and it will open
automatically for you. If you're in the courtyard outside of Lightfoot
Village, with the trees with targets on them, then just turn around the way
you came in from Thorntail Hollow. This is the door directly opposite the
door with the statue in front of it.

i know totally what you mean mate - i got lost in the very same place
and had to reset my cube too - but there is a way out...

each "zone" in starfox has a stupid gateway system to enter or leave
it... the system works the same way to get in as it does to get out -
the bit on the way to snowhorn wastes where you have to alter the
current of the water is one of these stupid contraptions...

have you receive the 100 scarab bag yet? i think you should have by now
- so you are just after more money yeah?

basically walk back away from the closed gate, past those weird trees
with targets on them, continue down the tunnel with golden glowing orbs
lighting your path... you should reach an outdoor area where you can go
left down into some water or right to a cliff...

jump off the cliff, and climb out of the water - and you can make it out
of this area...

personally ive given up on the game - my mate is playing it and i help
him occasionally, but it is filled with flaws which just make it a pain
to play...

You will come back to this area after you drop off the first Krazoa
Spirt to the Krazoa Palace. Then the stupid Warp Stone will just
blatantly tell you to go to the coast where there is a real bitch of a
block moving puzzle. Freaking lame...

But still a fun game.
