Neil.
I've read the same thing in the EDGE forum...
The strange thing it's that playing the game through a flash advance
card does save hiscores!
So...the "backup" can save while the original doesn't ?
it is true!
You are indeed right, the game DOES save hiscores, IF you have a Flash cart,
why?! simple the game does save highscores, but UbiSoft in their infinate
wisdom DIDN'T order a cart with save ram... And after getting all the units
manufactured realised what had happened...
Not good really, suffice to say when it comes out in North America, this
will be rectified, although it doesn't help you guys... Sorry, but as I'm
sure you can understand I feel a lot worse than you guys do.
Regards,
Stewart Gilray.

Well I don't know if this will make you feel any better but I'd just like to
say that I bought my GBA because it was bundled with Zelda Ages and in
nearly a year of owning it I haven't bought a single GBA game because there
was nothing I thought was worth the cost. Then I read about Pinball
Challenge and being an aging ex Amiga owner I bought it the day it hit the
shelves. Yeah I was disappointed to find no saving but it still rocks.
Thanks for the info Stewart. Does this mean that the next batch to enter the
European market WILL indeed have a save function? I am considering returning
it to GAME and wait until a battery back up version is released or
alternatively import the US version.
