I'm pissed off about this one. I keep hearing it's not as good as NBA
Courtside by Nintendo. Another two months to wait for a good basketball
game...great.

This might be cool. The screenshots I've seen have that animated series

What the hell, I'll probably pick this up now that Banjo is delayed.
All I have to say is that Banjo will be an awesome game, and you can be sure
Miyamoto is looking closely at its development for Mario 2.

hehehehe.. umm not on an ethernet connection.. we would generally get
16 players no lag whatsoever... over the net just about ever multiplay
gets some lag, but on my pc even with games like diablo, I never had
real lag problems when people with modems did... I think the
multiplayer will be fairly good seeing as how I think it'll only be 2
player, not 4.. 4 might get fairly tough with the type of game Quake
is.. Heck, I think I'll look very good seeing how well the saturn
version came out compared to what my PC can run Quake at without a 3DFX
card.. I'd only expect the N64 version to make some sacrifices with
obviously the music and with some res on two player.. other than that
it should be fun to try..
<snip>....
Cool, thanks. Any news on 1080 degress Snowboarding?
March 98????

Then again, won't 2-player deathmatch be kind of dull?

This IS Winter '98. But just to seal it: Hyper Olympic in Nagano '98 is
already OUT. I rented it last night. Granted, it's the Japanese version,
but there's never any real long delay between that and the US release.
And yes, it's good.

understand what I was doing! :)

The best thing N can do to guarantee a good '98 is to get this out
ASAP.

Where do you rent your Japanese import version from? Here in
Cambridge, no one I know rents out Japanese games, although a
Japanese toy store does sell some import PlayStation and Saturn
games.
Also, can you flesh out why you thought Hyper Olympic was good?
I'm still wondering why GameFan gave it such a low low grade (D+).

There's a shop in Gilbert, AZ called Game Zone, and they rent and sell
all sorts of import stuff (even Super Famicom games). They buy one copy
of all N64 games for rental in Japanese, so that you can try it out a
while before the US version comes out, and then they dump it for $30 or
so when the US version is released. They do a lot more business in
import Saturn and PSX, I'm told (and it appears). Another chain of
stores based more in nearby Phoenix called Gamers regularly imports
stuff for most systems, but generally for sale only.
> Also, can you flesh out why you thought Hyper Olympic was good?

Well, upon further review it maybe isn't as replayable as it first
appeared (once you figure out the techniques for each event it gets real
easy)... but it was fun for a rental, so I guess I'll pass on this one
when it's for sale. It took the better part of a night for me and the
guys to take this one apart, so to speak, to the point where we knew how
to play fairly proficiently. The graphics however are amazing. I
especially was impressed with the reflective ice. The screenshots are
one thing, but seeing it in action was really cool. Reminded me a lot of
the Olympic TV broadcasts, which is saying something.

I would prefer a Mechwarrior game for N64 done by activion ( ya I know
activion lost the Mechwarrior licence) or if FASA gets off of their
asses a become a N64 developer they could make It for the 64DD, the
controler is perfect for this type of game. And mutiplayer? The 64DD
could use the Modem addon for net play ( ex. netmech ) Thats if the
64DD gets a user base which is wishful thinking in my part :-P
Any other arguments? which would you play on N64? Quake or a
Mechwarroir game?

Hmm maybe Heavy Gear could come to the N64 then....personally I'd
easily rather play Mechwarrior, I friggin love the Battletech books,
just finished reading "Freebirth" actually.
