Donkey Kong 64 Cannot Go up small hills.

Hi,

 

    I am trying to go up small hills either as Donkey Kong or as Ditty Kong.  I can reach about 90% of the climb and then the characters stop their forward progress and start to slide back down.  I think I have used all the moves they are capable of.  Is there something I am doing wrong or do I need a special character to reach the top of those hills?  Please, if I need another character tell me which one and where and how I can get that character.

You need to use Lanky to get up those hills. After you obtain lanky in the
Aztec level. You must talk to cranky with lanky, and you'll get his
handstand potion. It walk up hills other Kongs can't.

You have to use Lanky Kong and you must get the potion from Cranky's lab.After he has drunk the potion,he gonna have the ability to walk on his hands.Now you can go up small hills.
