Is there an N64 "mod chip" equavilent?

I've heard that there is somehow a way to copy games for N64, but I don't
see how this is possible, since the media is not really compatiable with
anything else. Is there such a thing as an N64 'mod chip' type thing?

There is another option, it's called Doctor V64... copies the modules on CD
(as far as I know, about £249)
