So: If someone's interested to try this _really_ buggy, but _more_
sophisticated game, feel free to email me. But: Every version I'll send out
is stamped - if I catch you leaking the game, ... :)
And few pieces of information about the game:
- Works under OS/2 & DOS, 386+387 _required_, or emulation
(real OS/2 multithreading exe is main product, but works
under DOS if you have 387)
- 2 megabytes of memory
- about 1.5 megabytes of space
- no graphics card required yet - commands are given via parser
interface, but graphics are under development right now. :)
- computer opponents
- unlimited number of different player races
- fleet combat / orders
- fleet _programming_ (Basic-like)
- more realistic planet handling
- market economy, simulated
- more cargo types
- planetary orders (no longer that stupid-O keykilling routine)
- more advanced combat system
- more possible ship-configurations
(9 fighter hulls, 5 cargo hulls, 4 kinds of shielding systems, 15
kinds of special (cloak, &c) systems, 40+ kinds of weapons, .. and item has
10 different models, with different capabilities. User configurable, did I
forgot? :))
.. And more. I remember not right now, not having played VGAP during last
month..
Final notice: If you get the version I'm now programming (0.2), you _will_
be disappointed in some respects - e.g. no graphics (text menu interface,
though, or parser), computer opponents' intelligence _too_ low right now,..
Nice facts: Current C source takes w/o any of the alpha stuff (more shortly
said: maintenance/ship/planet/parser/list/.. code) about 100+ kbs
of space, and executable takes 170kbs of space, and all modular stuff/data
takes _a_lot_ more (for example, save game: 570kb, w/o equipment, included:
700+kb).
Currently nothing is fixed - for example, even player can add more
weapons/&c to the game, and special abilities, ... U C ?
