a question about boats

I finally saved up enough cash for a boat, have now gone off sailing and
cruised the world but have hit a small problem.

I can't close the gang plank when I leave. I have done it once but
everytime I leave the boat, the plank will not close, if I double click on
it, I jump back on the boat. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here
cause I can't find anything on the net.

It sound like you are unlocking the boat before you get off, you don't have to
leave it locked and double click on it it will open for five or six seconds
then automatically close itself, just don't forget your keys on board. Also you
can lock the gangplank while it is in the open position and it can't be used.
I do this when I'm hunting monsters, then if I get in trouble it is easier to
target the gangplank to unlock it in a hurry.

You're not doing anything wrong, that is the way it works. Here is what you
do. As soon as you board the boat, make sure both gang planks are locked.
Then, when you get ready to leave, dbl-click the gangplank and exit. The
gangplank will automatically close after a few seconds. Once on shore, dbl-
click both gangplanks. You should see a message "That is locked" and
everything is secure.
