Nope, Westwood wisely disabled multi-building construction bonuses to try to
eliminate the tank rush.

Yes, an interesting one. They actually did leave it in, but disabled it. It
can be enabled in rules.ini - there's a 25% speed bonus per building,
apparently.

Actually, I sort of wish they'd left this in - with a big twist. What if each
new wep factory sped up your build time, but only by 30-50% of the prior one?

(I.E. build speed of first - 100%
second - 50%
third - 25%
fourth - 12.5%)

One extra would be helpful, two extra less so, etc... Having more than 3 or so
really wouldn't be worth it. It would speed things up a bit, but each factory
you add would have a poorer cost/benefit ratio.

Just an idea...

I would like to have seen the ability to build multiple bulidings and
and be able to toggle which building units come out of. IT would also
be nice if you could assign harvestors to specific refinerys rahter
than watch them cross the map to get to another refinery way on the
other side of your base. It would make working multiple tiberium
fields much more efficient. Now that I think about it I wonder if
placing a waypoint in a patrol route would do that trick. I may have
to try that.

Don't tell me you've never heard that immortal phrase; "Primary building
selected". This ability has been in all of the C&C games (including this
one) and in Dune 2000. I can't remember if it was in Dune II).

Agreed - that *would* take a lot of the hassle out of it.

Can't you do that by selecting the primary building, or are you
referring to something completely different, like Starcraft's build
system, where you can tell two barracks to build different units?

Let us know how it works out, though I don't think the harvesters are
smart enough.

Actually I think its a mistake, considering how long a game that isnt finished by
a start rush can take. Game speed on my machine isnt great, and with the speed of
things online, they should have left it in. Also, the rush has been reduced as a
"tactic" by the em-pulse cannon. Arty's, at least for Nod, are easily rush
stoppers. If they had left it in, I dont think rushes would be nearly as bad as in
RA.

In Red Alert the harvesters seemed ( maybe I'm wrong) to follow the
following rule.

+ If the harvester was created along with a refinery, then it only went
to that refinery.

+ If the harvester was built in the war factory, then it was free to use
any refinery. And
could be told to go to specified refineries.

OK...
I was looking in a TS rules.ini and it had multiple building bonus as one of
the lines... I don't know if this was just in there from Red Alert or if it
actually works. Not to sound Full of myself but.. I have a P3 500 with 128
MB of RAM so pretty much everything builds fast anyway so I havn't really
noticed a difference in multiple buildings.

This is a dam fine idea, the holy grail of the CnC universe as far as I
am concerned is a harvester AI / Control Interface that doesn't make it
see like they are driven by underachieving amoebas. I *REALLY* *HATE* it
when you establish a secondary base at the far side of a map and get to
watch your harvesters constantly traipsing all over the map. Or when
harvestors travel huge distances just to harvest the patch of
ore/tiberian on the far side of a ridge when other funds are right next
to it, just because that is the patch that it has chosen next on its
run. I have to admit that I have yet to see this in TS yet, but I
suspect that this is due to clever map design.

In TS I just noticed this:
After consuming a nearby patch of tiberian, my harvester rode
off to a further patch. They took freaking long to come back so
i build a refinery near the new patch.
Now those dumb harvesters continued returning to the original
refineries, and refuse to notice the new refinery nearby even
thought it was empty. Only the harvester that came with the new refinery
bothered to return to it. Pretty dumb?

I just have to ask, is there anyone you won't insult? Or do you feel
it's your mission in life to go around insulting everyone? You should
grow up and get a life rather than going around insulting everyone. I
mean I see this kind of abuse from you against lots of other people on
a constant basis...but I guess teenagers have to get their kicks
somehow.

It was just an example, I know a few people deserve it, but most
of the people he goes around insulting don't really deserve. Don't
ask for specific examples because keeping track of such things an
writing down names is not something I have the time for. But when you
see something practically everyday examples readily present

As will the rest of the world, IMHO... you know, changing a post and

Sheesh... I hate people who bash New York because of things they say...
Sod what people say - it's a really nice place. Well, bits of it. I wouldn't go
around Queens on my own, like ever... On the other hand, you do get a
feeling of safety from it... Lovely city... And place where I can walk
around the streets at night carrying sums of cash and not feel especially
afraid can't be so bad... In terms of safety and how laid back it is, it sure
beats London...

Oh, so you've not been mugged yet? NYC has one of the worst

Well, I've always thought people in this newsgroup were a little funny in

I was merely refering to discussion strictly between me and
Zagadka. Almost all he ever did was say I said this or I said that
when in fact it was't what I said or was something I said in a
competely different context. He then used that stuff he made up to
argue against. He almost never actually argued again something I
really did say in the same context in which I said it. That is a
clear sign he was a loser in the arguement because putting words in
other peoples mouths like he did is a clear sign that someone has lost
an arguement, therefore I was the winner in my aruements with him.

Now my discussion with other people such as yourself was
completely different from the standpoint that you weren't putting
words in my mouth then trying to argue against that, you were arguing
against what I actually said. That is what separates someone like you
that argues intellegently, though not nessicarily knowledgably (is
that even a word), from someone like Zagadka that can't even argue
intelligently. I know you and maybe some other had a few good points,
but you were wrong on many points as well. But that doesn't really
matter because the only flamewar was between Zagadka and I. My
discussions with everyone else were civilizied, but Zagadka didn't
want a civilized discussion and over the last few weeks it's become
quite obvious over the last few weeks that when he argues with anyone
he isn't interested in being civilizied.

"trolls" as you call them to several different people a day and I'm
sure there are plenty more I don't read. I only respond to some of

Nice run-on sentence. But I'm not one to criticize grammar.

Perhaps you've confused "annoy" with "entertain"...

You're so damn pathetic it's funny. Did you think of deleting

I wasn't expect you to admit it, but it it's plainly obvious I

I think you answered your own question by replying. And as I said
before do you think I really care if you people think about me? In
general I don't, because I don't have time to. Zagadka started the
whole thing when he threw the first insult way back for no good
reason. That pissed me off at the time and is part of the reason I
bitch at him for doing the same thing to other people (mostly, though
not entirely, people who didn't deserve it). I know I annoy him
because he'd ignore it if it didn't bother him, and that's the fun in
it because he deserves it. I'm not looking to get into anything with
anyone else because everyone else has wanted to argue in a civilized
manner, but if you're actually going to defend that idiot when he rips
on some people who don't deserve it...

>Now you're getting paranoid... Go check your message - Brian didn't edit it

Well since you're actually defending his belief that insulting
anyone for any reason is ok, then I can't take you're word for it. As
I don't have a copy of the post because it never showed up on my news
server, I can't verify that myself either. Actually several of my
messags haven't shown up the news server I've used in the past. Ok,
Zagadka that's your que to be a hypocrite and tell me to go out and
pay top dollar for really good news server and retrieve messages from
it with a 2400baud modem because people shouldn't have to pay for a
modern speed modem that will end up saving them money.

What the hell are you talking about? Those are not Zagadka's words
altered by me.

At any rate I never said he alters the words I write, creating
whole new sentences or phrases with words in them I didn't say. What
he does is make up his own setences and phrases and paragraphs where
his says I said this or I said that. The vast majority of the time I
never said what he says I said or at the very least I didn't say it in
the context in which he said I did.

Too bad you have zero credibility with me and my news server

right, it's just that nobody who has responded has enough credibility
with me to convince me of that. Since I didn't have a copy of my own

Really? Go count the number of messages that I *didn't* reply to. I've
personally seen about 10 already today, and didn't reply to any... I'd say
that one message in however you've posted in the last little while is a
pretty good record of not taking notice.

>And as I said
>before do you think I really care if you people think about me?

Evidently, otherwise you wouldn't be going to such lengths to demonstrate
how you're in the right and Brian is clearly in the wrong. You know that
he's given up taking notice of your crap, so for who's benefit is it?

*lol*

Point me to an example where he flamed without reason, and I can show
you another couple of people who flamed the same person, for the same
"non existent" reason. Admit it, this is a personal vendetta - you're sore
about being flamed and you're trying to pay him back (and doing a pretty
poor job of it)

> I know I annoy him
>because he'd ignore it if it didn't bother him, and that's the fun in

Actually, speaking as somebody who isn't annoyed by you, I think I'm a
counter-example to that... You don't bother or annoy me. While the
concept of "fun" may be foreign to you, I would hope that you can
understand how it's fun to flame you. I would guess that, since you keep
replying to Brian and it's not because he annoys you, which he so
obviously fails to do, it must be because it's fun for you.

> I'm not looking to get into anything with

You're saying that Brian's arguing is uncivilized? Well, at least you're
providing amusement, if nothing else.......

>but if you're actually going to defend that idiot when he rips
>on some people who don't deserve it...

The hell they don't... Anybody Brian flames - especially you - has either
deserved it, or at least been on the edge of deserving it. I've yet to see him
flame anybody I wouldn't (except me, but he doesn't do that much any
more :o)

This is credibility as defined by you... That being somebody who agrees
with you, one would presume... Well I'm sorry, but I doubt you'll find
anybody like that here.....

*lol*

Again, I challenge you to back up your insults with examples - where has
he accused you of saying things you haven't? Also, where did you get the
impression that he's a "rude teenager" from? He sure acts more grown up
than most of the people here (including the adults - this means you Chas
:o)

You flamed a foreigner for not speaking English properly, then told all
the Europeans to get with the times and get faster modems so people
could post binaries here... Reason enough for me. You proceeded to say
that my grammar sucks, I'm a hypocrite, I don't know anything about
statistics, and that I'm a rude teenager.

Actually, no, I find it quaint and humerous. I really look forward to
seeing you try to weasal out of this post...

*lol* Great job... admit again how you make baseless accusations dreamt
up during a long sleep... or frustration that you can't come up with
anything decent. Interesting how you ignore all the other insults posted
hourly in this group.

No, spud. I said that because you said that everyone should go buy a
faster modem and "get with the times". That solution's basis is that if
what you have isn't good enough, you should go buy a better one. So,
following that logic - your server sucks. Go buy access to a better one.
I never seriously told you to go do it. I was pointing out the
hypocritical statement you made. You, very handily, played right into it
by saying that you shouldn't have to. Thus, why the hell should everyone
else buy faster modems? I won't explain it to you again - its not my
fault if you can't understand the complex dynamics...

You are certainly the master of paraphrasing. Your problem is that you
speak far too eloquently, and get caught up in your own words... I do
the service of shortening it up a bit, and it doens't sound that
appealing anymore. *shrugs* Not my prob if you don't agree with
yourself.

Pobre cita. Don't you hate it when you look like a jackass?

> post to look back on I just assumed you did something based solely on

Hence your weakness. If I assumed things based soley on my impressions
of you (clueless, rude adult with severe emotional problems - see, now
THAT was an insult. Take careful note - you might learn something),
well... but I have this feeling that your misguided intentions come from
the depths of your misguided heart, and you really mean it all. Then
again, the Nazis meant it, too - doesn't mean they were right (No, I'm
not calling you a Nazi).

You can answer that question far better than I. I didn't say I
was wrong I said I can't verify it either way and no one that has
credibility with me could verify it either way. That said I'll lean
toward my being right at this point.

You wanted an example of you twisting around/altering what I said
in a pathetic display of your poor arguing skills well you just

provided it above. Here is what you already know I actually said:

"post to look back on I just assumed you did something based solely on

your character (rude teenager) and the fact that you are always saying
I said stuff I never said."

Says something completely different when you don't edit it to suit
your needs doesn't it you pathetic excuse for a mammal? My assume was
based more on the second half of that statement, which you can now add
the following to, since you provided the example: 'and because you
change what I say to suit your needs'. Actually you also just
convinced me that you did in fact alter the other message and deleted
the punctuation.

As for the insult we both know that except for the "adult" you're
describing yourself. You're the rude one who goes around insulting
everyone generally just for the hell of it. You're also the
"clueless" one who called tech support to ask them why your desktop
computer stopped working when the power went out; or all jokes aside
you have about as much computer related technical knowledge and math
skills as a Monkey.

BTW once I got past the insult I didn't know what the hell you
were talking about.

I assume, that anyone who posts it "won't have enough credibility" for
you, since we are all Zagadkas underlings, right?

Well then you must call yourself a troll to since you post these
"trolls" as you call them to several different people a day and I'm
sure there are plenty more I don't read. I only respond to some of
the messages you post. As for not giving a shit I really don't I'm
