in the GDI Final Mission I had 4 platforms with Orca Bombers.
The bastards refused to reload. They didn't even respond on my attack
requests, they just sat there on their platforms.
They all were in good shape and power was ok.
Only after sending them to the repair pad and back they started to reload.

They reloaded and repaired without any worries!

It's not spelled out in the manual, but if you haven't discovered it by
now, pressing S to stop the Orcas while they're on a bombing run, will
automatically send them back to the pads. This is useful if they're taking
a massive pounding from the SAM sites.. saves you having to select and move
them yourself.

Do we neeed Orcas ? I'm only at the rescue tratos mission. Really hate
them. They're kind of useless and worse, I can't use them to explore and
open up the fog of war! (talk about stupidity... sigh..)

Orca Fighters are weak, and only really effective in groups. Orca
Bombers, on the other hand, are probably GDI's best unit, and 2/3 will take
out buildings, MM2s, anything :) They're not invulnerable to SAMs by any
means, but they can take a pounding.
The reason Orcas (and Banshees/Harpies) don't expose the fog, is becase
if they did the game would be ridiculously easy. Send out your Orcas all
over the place, one will go right over the enemy base, see everything, and
that'll be that. If true FoW was on, then using Orcas in this way would be
fine, but because TS uses a retreating (but not regrowing) FoW, you have to
make it slightly tricky to reveal those unseen areas, because once seen..
they're there forever.
Jump Jet Infantry are the ultimate scouts. Play a skirmish, build one,
and send him out to the likely enemy positions. He's very slow, so the
balance is retained. Chances are, the enemy AA defences are minimal at the
start, so you can at least get a glimpse of his base, before he stealths or
encircles it in defences :)

Thanks
