Key Commands
Options Menu Escape
Pauses the game in missions and Skirmish mode, and brings up Sound and
Keyboard Shortcuts options, also allowing the player to Abort or Surrender
in Multiplayer, and Save, Load, and Delete games in single player.
Jump to Last Radar Event V
Moves the tactical display (main screen) to the location of the last event,
such as "Harvester is Under Attack."
Bookmarks CTRL + F9 - CRTL + F12
Allows you to "bookmark" a location on the tactical map, so that you can
jump back to it with the stroke of a key.
Jump to Bookmark F9 - F12
Jumps the tactical display (main screen) to one of the bookmarks.
Center Map on Base H
The "Home" shorcut will center the map on your primary Construction Yard,
which is useful for quickly jumping to your base without wasting a
bookmark.
Sidebar Scroll Up + Scroll Down Pg Up + Pg Dn
Scrolls the sidebar up. The Keyboards options has many more selections,
including the ability to scroll either or both of the bars up or down an
entire screen. It is recommended that you edit these to your preferences.
Waypoints Mode W
Wllows you to place and edit waypoints.
Loop Waypoints SHIFT + Left Click
Allows you to place a waypoint in a loop, letting units go on "patrols."
Especially useful with Fog of War enabled. While placing waypoints, hold
down shift and click on another waypoint. Units will follow that loop.
Guard Waypoints CTRL + ALT + Left Click
Units can be made to aggressively follow waypoints - in Guard Waypoint
mode, they will follow the wapypoint and attack anything that comes near.
When they are done, they return to the waypoint and continue on. Combined
with Looped waypoints, this can allow units to march around and provide
defense.
Delete Waypoint Del
In waypoints mode, once you select a waypoint (as in moving it), if you
press the "Delete" key, the selected waypoint will be removed.
Toggle Power Mode P
Quick shortcut to allow you to turn building's power on and off.
Toggle Repair Mode R
Quick shortcut to bring up the Repair Building wrench.
Alliance A
In a multiplayer game (only a LAN or Internet game with at least human
opponents and at least one AI), you can ally by selecting an opponent's
unit or building and pressing "A". You units will stop firing at his, and
your maps will be shared. To complete this, though, he must select
something of yours and also press "A," or he'll keep shooting at you.
Toggle Map Tab
Switches between the radar map and the current scores.
Screenshot CTRL + C
Snaps a screenshot of the entire screen (excluding the cursor) and saves it
to the Tiberian Sun root directory as SCRNxxxx.PCX, the image size being
the same as your screen resolution.
Guard G
This mode is essential. It tells units to kill whatever they see - in Guard
mode, they will wander out and shoot at enemy units nearby. Without it,
they obediently stand there and watch a Titan trash your Construction Yard.
Guard Object CTRL + ALT + Left Click
Vital - this tells units to guard other units. Telling a medic to guard
infantry will make him follow them about and heal everyone nearby. Telling
units to guard harvesters will send them off to destroy whatever attacks
said harvester.
Scatter X
This tells units you have selected to randomly move a few squares in a
direction, useful for infantry facing a tank abotu to crush them or
incoming explosive devices.
Stop S
Tells units to stop all functions they are doing. Unfortunatetly, some of
the more aggressive units (such as the Cyborg Commando), who are on Guard
Mode constantly, will continue to shoot - which is why all units aren't on
guard mode by default.
Follow F
Will scroll the screen automatically to follow the selected unit. An easy
way to watch your Orcas attack something, or for use on "Commando
missions."
Force Fire CTRL + Left Click
This will tell all selected units to fire at the designated area - good for
destroying bridges and attacking stealth untis and buildings.
Force Move ALT + Left Click
This tells the selected units to move somewhere no matter what. Its mostly
a debugging type command, for when units won't move somewhere.
Next Unit N
Selects the next unit that you produced.
Previous Unit B
Selects the previous unit that you produced.
Select All E
Selects all player-owned objects on screen.
Create Team CTRL + 1 - CTRL + 0
Puts all the selected units/structures into a "team" or group that can be
selected at once by pressing the number of the team.
Select Team 1 - 0
Selects all the units on a team.
Select + Center on Team ALT + 1 - ALT + 0
Selects all units on a team and centers the screen on them.
Add Units to Team SHIFT + 1 - SHIFT + 0
Adds the selected unit to a team.
Add Unit to Selected SHIFT + Left Click
Selects a new unit in addition to the ones you already have selected.
Movement Queue (Old Waypoints) Q
Holding down "Q" while clicking various locations will make a unit go to
those locations in order, while being aggressive and firing on the move.
This can be used, for example, to tell Titans to move in a circle around a
Tick Tank while firing at it. To do this, you would tell them to attack the
Tick Tank, as normal, then hold down Q and selct points around it. They
will first attack the Tick Tank, and then start moving along the points
while attacking. This is also useful for quickly moving units around
Tiberium fields. It does not work with aircraft.
Deploy D
Deploys the selected units, if applicable. Makes it simple to deploy 10
Tick Tanks at once.
Rally Points CTRL + ALT + Left Click
Sets a "rally point," or an area for units to go to after being produced,
for the War Factory and Barracks. A dotted yellow line will appear leading
from the building to the rally point while the building is selected.
Currently, this does not allow units to follow waypoint out of a building.
