The definition varies, but in this group we use the following definition:
A binary is an attachment to a message in any form. Binaries include, but are
not limited to: Images, programs, zips, and VCards.

Binaries are forbidden by tradition outside of groups with "binaries" in their
name, most of which are under alt.binaries.*

Binaries are unwelcome here - they take up valuable space, are usually quite
large, and serve no purpose in a group for discussion.
