well even if you have devious reasons for wanting to know this serial number
thing - this information is readily available.
open windows explorer, drill down to c:\windows
find regedit.exe
double click to open program (be careful from here on out ! there is no
going back if you accidentally change something in your registry.)
in the left pane click on the plus sign + to expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
click on the SOFTWARE plus +
look down the software list that expands for Electronic Arts
everything you have installed correctly (purchased and registered) will be
listed here like the example below.
IF you have registered each of your games with Maxis, then you can find
these serial numbers at their web site - but you should already know this
huh.

Look for
electronic arts
"Export" the whole key to a folder on the desktop. (It's only a copy of and
doesn't remove the key).
Change the .reg to .txt and open the file in Notepad. (Ignore warning).
Print this off and keep it safe! It gives you the whole set of registry
numbers in the EA bit of the registry plus the network play system key.
Change the .txt to .reg again in case you need to import it if needed.
