How do you get rid of this pest?

Just wondering,

If you have House Party, simply have a sim go to the phone and call
"Clown Catchers". They will eliminate the clown, and his portrait(s) in
the house for §500.

If you have only Livin' Large (Livin' It Up). Download this from the
official site:

http://www.thesims.ea.com/us/register/getfile_7.phtml?filename=ClownCatc
hers.exe

And then do the same thing as for House Party, described above.

Of course, burning the clown picture is much more fun.

Thanks... I had House Party so I was just able to make the call...Y'know
this solution was just so.... simple! and expensive. I guess I should have
my sims check the "yellow pages" more often.

More or less,
Kyle

It would just be logical to sell every "Tragic Clown" portrait in the house,
wouldn't it? From what I know, he won't come if you don't have a portrait of
him. Either that or trap him in a spot until he starves to death.

It would make sense, but maxis created it so you have to burn the painting,
Trapping him and starving him to death don't work. He pulls a hole from his
pocket, throws it on the floor and climbs out on the other side of the wall.
I got this directly from the strategy guide.

I was planning to do an experiment by walling him up. I first got the
tragic clown to come by putting the wretched painting up. I removed it after
he arrived. He kept waking up the little girl - he is certainly no clown,
delighting in annoying people.

Then with move_objects on, I deleted him. He didn't come back. So no drastic
measures like killing are necessary.

Actually, I saw him do that hole thing just today, as I was trying to kill
him myself. ;)

That sounds neat, so I will have to wall him up after all just to see that!
