Sims 2 on the new computer and Sims 1 on the ancient laptop. Does anyone
have a clue where I can find good hacks for sims 1? Especially "Making
Magic". I can`t help it...I start the laptop to read my e-mail and my
mouse starts working like a Ouija board...it heads for the Sims 1 icon
and "click"...I`m lost for several hours...

I am just reinstalling all my sims 1 on my laptop too, it's a new one but I
wouldn't expect it to run 2 well, if at all. I lost everything when the
old one went bust. I need those hacks too!

It`s great fun. The gameplay is faster and I can do the building in my
sleep, yet there is something that keeps me glued to the screen for
ages. Yesterday my dragon burned down half the house....

I tried playing mine again and was just aghast at how much I missed the
friendship painting. I love the game -- it's so much faster than 2 and
gives me a nostalgic thrill. If anyone finds any of the old stuff, please
share. I had two disks saved, but somehow they became corrupted and it's
just not the same without shortcuts!

I think "Seven deadly sims" is still around. They got some good stuff,
but no hacks.

Ahhh, that makes me pine for the good ol days of S1 as well. I miss all
of my great celeb & monster skins and all my fabulous goth stuff i got
from Grim Sims and Dr. Frankensims.. Ophelias.. etc. I do love my S2-
but there is alot i miss about S1, for sure. I had a Wicked Witch Sim i
just could not have one single neighborhood without one of LOL. And my
Farscape skins.. i miss those.

Nostalgically,

Have you tried Googling for Sims 1 hacks?

Why can't you still have all that with Sims2? I made an Elphaba sim (the
Wicked Witch of the West from "Wicked") using a green skintone and the
hair/hat and dress from MTS2. Made her in body shop and saved her so I can
use her in every neighborhood if I want. And there's a lot of Goth-y stuff
out there now, if you know where to look for it. <g>

Oh Jeanie dear.. you are my kind of gal. "Wicked" just happens to be my
most favorite book *of all times*! Love the musical as well-- but the
book... i adore that book. I almost made my screenname "Chistery" after
the monkey in that story- but so many of my online peeps have known me
as monkey butt for about a decade now.

I have never really messed with body shop before. I'm much less
experimental that way unlike some of you very talented and smart folks
in here. I do admit i have not checked around much for gothy DL's with
S2.

I did, however, type grim sims into my browser just to see if they are
still around and surprisingly they are. But they only have S1 stuff.
Which is a HUGE shame.. they have a "bed" that is a grave.. you sleep
under the ground with a tombstone at the head! Now that is right up my
alley what with all the vampires i have running around. Just a pity it
is S1. Another good reason to miss that game. They have some other
really nifty stuff they have added since i abandoned my S1.. so if
there are any people out there looking for some slightly macabre stuff
for their game- that is a good place to go.

On a related note- have you read other stuff by Gregory Maguire? I
highly recommend "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" as well as "Mirror
Mirror". Nothing as spectacular as "Wicked" but a great read still. I
have the sequel "Son of a Witch" that i got for Xmas that i still need
to pick up sometime soon.

Hope you're having a love day Jeanie! Take care.

Cheers,
E.

I`ve been googling and all kinds of things but I end up with broken
links or stuff I already got... I found a hack with a chest full of
goodies for your Magic needs.... You get all the ingredients and the
chest never runs out of them...lol.

I've not seen the musical, I live in a little bitty backwater town hundreds
of miles from a metropolis large enough to attract that play. I will have
to wait for it to become either a movie or (god forbid!) a high school play.

Don't let body shop scare you. It's just like Create a Sim only better. It
allows you to tweak the faces in places like cheekbones, protruding brows,
that sort of thing. And I suggest a good look around MTS2 to start you off
in your search for gothy stuff. Often, you will see links to larger sites
inside the posts that have the downloads in them. From those you can often
surf to even more that contain the kind of content you like. Try searching
for keywords like macabre, goth, gothic, scary, haunted. They had quite a
collection on there last fall.

Yes, I've read everything he's written so far, except for "Lost" which is on
my TBR shelf. Wonderful stuff! Son of a Witch was good, too, but not quite
as good as Wicked.

give myself for my birthday tomorrow. LOL Don't know if this will work or
not!

Actually, the play is really fantastic in its own way. A bit toned down
and more "PG" rated for the family audience.. but still very good.. lot
of the politics still in tact. If they do a movie, i pray they make the
book.. but do keep the actress who originated her on Broadway, Idina
Menzel.

I always heisitate to mess with stuff like that when i know it's very
easy LOL. Beginning to miss custom content alot in my game though- so i
might have to get on the ball and start learning stuff like that.

I am way past due for picking up SOAW. Sims interfere ya know.

I would not normally say this.. but "Lost" is one book for some reason
i just hated with a passion. I was in the hospital when i was reading
it, but that's not why i didn't care for it. I know it is easy to think
that though LOL.

The main character was really abrasive and hard to like. The story got
very redundant after a bit... and i only got about 100 pages in before
i finally said "Why am i reading something i don't like?" LOL. So i put
it down. Still would like to know how it comes out though- so maybe
i'll pick it back up some day. All his other stuff is so much better,
really.

Oopsie!
My fingers get ahead of my brain sometimes. That should be "lovely".
Some times they will even type out the word "and" if i am thinking
"the" or something easy like that. And i dont proofread well. <bg>
Have a *lovely* day.

Hmmmm.. (trying to get mental image of this)

If nobody knew what smoking was and you suddenly spotted a man on the
street rolling grass into paper, setting it on fire and then pressing it
against his lips just to make sure the smoke got inside his
lungs...would we call him normal? No, we would lock him up....
