GENERAL INFO

**Vampires' reflections do not show up in mirrors

**They have two ways to get around that your regular Sims don't: Stalk
Here and Fly Here. When you select Fly Here your vampire will turn
into a bat and similar to teleporting, can appear somewhere else
instantly without worrying about Sims and stuff being in their way.

**Vampires will stay their current age forever, with two exceptions:
Teens vampires that attend University will become young adults, and
then, after they graduate, will become adults (and stay that way,
forever).

**Vampires cannot drown or die from Hunger.

**Vampires can reproduce but their kids will not be vampires.
Vampirism is like a virus that can only be caught by being bitten, and
it is not hereditary.

BECOMING

**The game ships with two vampires in each downtown neighborhood, the
male and female Grand Vampires. They show up randomly on Downtown
Community lots, only at night. They have pale skin, red eyes and
fangs. They look like classic vampire...the male wears an old
fashioned tuxedo like thing and the female has a Shakespearean like
dress in deep blood red (I love it!) and both, of course, have capes.
Their names will start with "Count" or "Contessa".

**A vampire Sim will use the Bite neck interaction to infect other
Sims

--Teens vampires can only bite other teens, but they can be bitten by
young adults, adults and elders. Older vampires can bite everyone but
children, toddlers and babies.

--Bite Neck is accepted if Sim A is Attraction-eligible for Sim B and
Sim B's:
1. Daily is more than 20 and they have knowledge aspirations or
2. Not Knowledge Aspiration but Daily is more than 95 or
3. Not Knowledge Aspiration, Daily 81-95 and Logic more than 9 or
4. Not Knowledge Aspiration, Daily 61-80, and Logic more than 6 or
5. Not Knowledge Aspiration, Daily 41-50 and Logic more than 3.
[bNot sure if this chart is correct...we think it may be backwards
(see katenigma's post) because this is what does not make sense to me:
It clearly says that the higher your Sim's daily relationship level
with the vamp is, the more likely they are to get bitten. So using the
chart the way it is in the guide, and non-Knowledge a Sim with a Daily
relationship of 81-95 also has to have 9 Logic points in order to get
bitten? That does not make sense to me. We'll just have to wait and
see when the game comes out!***

**In order to be bitten by a vampire, your Sim must have a Daily
relationship with one of the Grand Vampires, OR once other Sim's have
been infected, with one of them. The higher the relationship with the
vampire is, the more likely your Sim is to get bitten. Knowledge Sims
are more likely to be bitten (starting at a lower relationship score).
Also, the vampire's age and family relationship with the intended
victim plays a part, vampires will not usually bite family members
(but apparently there are exceptions to both of these rules). With
each Logic skill point your Sim has the chance goes up as well.

**Once one playable Sim in your game has been bitten, others can be
bitten and become vampires...then (almost) the whole neighborhood can
become Undead.

**If no playable Sims are ever bitten, the Grand Vampires will not
infect other Sims. This will be good for people who don't want the
vamps in their games. you'll have to have the two grand vampires
hanging around, but they won't start biting townies and stuff on their
own until you "let" one of your playable Sims get bitten. (and again,
unless you help propagate with playable Sims the Grands will only
infect up to 10% of the populace-see below for more info**)

**You CAN get an almost an entire neighborhood vampirized but if will
not happen automatically. Townies will not be replaced when they
become Undead so the population will not be affected by how many
vampires are running around. To make the entire neighborhood Undead
your playable Sims will have to do the majority of the biting because
townie vampires (including the Grand Vamps) can only infect 10% of the
town's population. You can never get every Sim vamped out because
every time an NPC like the maids and gardeners are infected, another
"living" one will take it's place.

VAMPIRE NEEDS and HABITS

***Vampires can party all night without having to eat, sleep, shower
or visit the loo since their Needs don't decay after the sun goes
down. This does not mean that the vampire can't be in a bad Mood
though! Their Needs can still be affected by their interactions with
other Sims and objects around them, and if those Needs drop, so too
can their mood. However, their Needs do NOT automatically go all green
when the sun goes down. If your vamp had to pee before the sun went
down, he'll still have to pee, but once he does he won't have to again
all night and the Bladder bar will stay where it is and stop it's
downward spiral. This special "gift" can be very helpful for skill
building and getting promoted at work. And it's awesome for
socializing! Yours vampires want to party all the time, party all the
time, yeah, yeah. (Sorry)

**Vampire's Needs decay faster than a regular Sim's during daylight
hours, but they stop decaying at sunset

****When vampires go out in the daylight or are caught when the sun
comes up their needs drop really, really fast. If they stay in the sun
until their Needs hit bottom they will combust and die(?) Vampires
should only go out in daylight when absolutely necessary, like if they
have a day job and they can run to the car, quickly. You want to make
sure that your vampire's Needs are full when they leave to get a
daytime job because if they are too low, they might not make it to the
car, plus the adverse effects it will have on their job performance
meter, and subsequently on their chance of promotion. Attached garages
are perfect for vampires because they can get to their cars without
having to brave the sunlight. Vampires "killed" by sun can be brought
back to life with the Resurrect-O-Nomitron (if you have Uni). It works
the same as with regular Sims...the amount of money you spend
determines how they will come back. So you CAN have vampire-zombies.
Or vampies. (you can also have alien-vampire-zombies!)

**Light from windows will not affect your vampire Sim's Needs, so no
need for blinds or curtains. Cars also provide a safe haven for the
Undead-when they are inside a car, no matter where the car is, it is
just like being indoors.

**Vampires will not accept invitations or dates during the day by
phone, ever.

COFFINS

**When the vampire goes to sleep in their coffin bed, their Needs stop
depleting just like they do after sunset. Their Comfort and Energy
will fill up just like they do in a regular Sim bed. So potentially,
you could take care of your vamp's Hunger, Bladder, Social, Hygiene
and Fun once a day, have them stay in the coffin all day with their
needs frozen, then they will rise at night when their Needs will not
decay. Handy and so much easier than meditation!

**You cannot woohoo in a coffin, so if your vampire has such desires,
they will need to locate a double bed, hot tub (indoor or at night) or
a car (photo/clothing booths should work too I am assuming)

**Vampires will tend to want to sleep in their coffins all day and
they will remain there until sunset (even if their Energy Need is
full) unless you click on them and select Arise. However, they will
remain "asleep" until their Energy is full, even after sunset. This
helps prevent accidental combustion and death from them meandering
outdoors by accident. (Hmmm...I wonder if you can use the "Call over"
interaction on vampires you don't like?)

**Coffins cost §1500

**Interactions available with coffin beds:

1. Sleep: Anyone (even regular Sims) can sleep in a coffin bed, but
the vampires have a cool animation that happens when they rest there.
A vampire's Needs do not decay while they are in a coffin bed.

2. Wake-up: Regular Sims wake up from the coffin bed just like they do
from a normal bed.

3. Arise: This will cause a vampire to awaken and rise from the coffin
no matter what time of day it is. Without this interaction, the
vampire will sleep until sunset and his Energy Need is full. However,
if the Energy Need is fulfilled before sunset, the vampire will remain
asleep unless the Arise interaction is used.

4. Peek: Other Sims can peek into the coffin if it has a vampire in
residence. The Sim who peeks will have one of two reactions: The will
be "creeped out" and shut the lid OR the vampire will scare the Sim
before going back to sleep. Both results cause Comfort loss, but the
frightened Sim will have a more severe loss and possibly Bladder
failure. If the scared Sim's Needs are very low they could even be
scared to death. If one vampire peeks in on another, they will just
have the creeped out reaction and will never be scared, Visiting Sims
may peek autonomously but your playable Sims will not.

5. Dare to Peek: One Sim can dare another Sim to peek into a sleeping
vampire's coffin. If the Sim who is dared is "creeped out" both Sims
will get a Fun increase. If the dared Sim is scared and his bladder
fails, the Sim who dared him gets a big Fun increase and the the daree
get a little fun boost to go with his sudden loss of Hygiene. If the
peeking Sim gets scared to death, no one gets any fun at all

CURING VAMPIRES

**Vampirism can be reversed at any time by purchasing and drinking a
vial of Vamprocillin-D from the gypsy matchmaker. You can summon her
by phone or look for her on a Community lot. If you call her by phone,
you will still be summoning her for matchmaking purposes, but once she
is there all you have to do is buy the potion-you won;t have to go on
any blind dates, you have enough problems as it is!

**Once your Sim drinks the antidote, they should return to their old
self immediately. Non-vampire Sims who drink the potion will not have
any adverse effects, but they will no longer have the potion in their
inventory.

**If you have an NPC or other non-playable Sim who you want to cure,
and you have enough Influence points, you may be able to Influence
then to drink an offered potion. (requires University)

**The Vamprocillin-D potion can be kept in your inventory, so you can
buy up to 10 bottles to keep on hand for those vampire emergencies.

OTHER STUFF

**The vampire's pale "skin" actually functions like a full body
tattoo..it cannot be passed on to future generations or used as a skin
tone in Bodyshop

**When vampires use the photo booth there is a special set of photos
that come out.

**Vampires can go up to another Sim and say "Bleh!"

**The grand vampires are eligible as blind dates and may show up when
you request a blind date from the gypsy matchmaker.

So this is what vampirism is all about... Now I absolutely *have to*
make a vampire Sim Right Now, just so I can go up to another Sim and
say "Bleh!" :-) :-)

If you don't want to wait for the count, you can use the cheat.
