Sims 2 and Vista bad news

I install new PC with VISTA machine and guess what Sims 2 won't run on Vista
because block of DX 9c. Vista use DX 10 what to do ?

I'm spewing....

Try Googling or try the official Help site.

I have DX11 on Vista and it works for me.

Expansions that came out after Vista work ok with it.

I just installed everything up to Mansions and Garden stuff without playing
and then downloaded the latest patch for that from the official site.

People able to use DX11 on Vista like your because your video card is
comptabile to DX9 DX10 DX11

I am playing Sims 2 on Vista 64bit....so it can be done.

I understand now the video card need compatiable to DX9 c but newer card
like DX10 that won't run sims 2 .

Only way to do is to keep my older card or stay with Win XP

It sad pathetic my sims 2 won't run on my Vista and I end up go back to
Windows XP. I am very unhappy with Vista for many reasons stinkful !!!!

I can see I will continue play SIMS 2 for other 10 years....with Windows XP

Have you tried installing DX9c? That's all I had to do for some of the
games I had that required DX9 and they all (inc Sims 2) seemed to work
OK after that. I believe whereas previous versions of DX included all
the older versions within them but DX10 didn't for whatever reason, so
you just need to install that separately.
