I disconnected and tried 3 other 1.11 servers and they still work... I sent the
files to my friend [RS]Hator... SAME result... the GIANT FLAG CHEAT and so on
still work.

I like Ren and Shifter. I'm keeping it there.

all mods are still vulnerable. Currently Renegades AoS is the only
mod that prevents the cheats. FTA also has Renegades 3.5 Beta in the
works which will also fix the problem, but it isn't avaialble for
download just yet.

In fact I put the flag cheat on a LAN when hosting a game with friends around 3
AM last saturday... in order to show them HOW THOSE THINGS RUIN THE GAME... and
to make them laugh a good time after a 4 hours round of UT tag death match...
When I connected to the first server I was in Scarabrae... I went sniping from
a RAT HOLE, I was VERY QUIET and an enemy sniper shoted me right in the head...
I was basically at the clipping distance... that made me thing:
1- I suck (I KNOW THAT I DON'T)
2- He cheats...

It's obvious from this post that you really don't know the first thing
about Tribes. If you think that a script that shortens the time you
spend in an inv station (making like more pleasant for your teammates)
or one that replaces mad hammering of the space bar with a much more
elegant and intelligent alternative (as in ski scripts) is cheating, I
have a piece of advice for you; go back to honing your Quake skillz
and leave Tribes, for which you obviously do not have enough
intelligence, the fuck alone. The many enhancements in playability -
which has NOTHING to do with cheating- that the script coders have
brought to Tribes with their efforts (and their ability to do so will
be increased with Tribes 2) are something that any decent player is
able to recognize and appreciate.

Well, try mounting an attack against a couple of LPB chaingunners
defending a flag platform. Your SLOWWW moving APC is toast, probably
even before you enter mortar range- that's providing the enemy sniper
didn't get your pilot first:P. Likewise you can just about forget it
if you're being chased by or chasing an APC with a couple of LPB's in
it. Traditional HPB equalizers, like the mortar, are so difficult to
aim off a moving APC (against a tiny flag platform) that it's not very
likely that you'll be able to dislodge a defense that knows what it's
doing. Hit another APC with a disc or plasma? Then you're really
lucky... the thing is a chainfest, pure and simple. And what was the
thing that happens to be really unbalanced about Base again? Yup, you
got it.

Try connecting to a Base server running 1.11.
Only Renegades AOS and Base have the code in them that actually checks
for the cheats.
As far as I am aware no other MOD has it.
Also since there are plenty of places with the pics why do you need the
cheats?

Base servers with the 1.11 should kick your lame ass no problem if you
have the cheats.

Absolutely. What is this guy, some newbie who thinks it's not fair that the experienced
players' versions of the game work better for them because they've invested the time
and effort to download, setup, and learn how to use these scripts? It seems to me that
if you're willing to go through the trouble to do all that, then you deserve the little
bit extra edge you'll get from doing it. I'm a newbie myself, but I understand when our
team loses to another team because not only were they more proficient, they figured out
how to set their game up so that it worked better for them. I'm taking care of things
like that all the time myself. I still get my ass kicked on a regular basis, but the
odds are slowly edging my way every day, and this is just one more thing I can do to
make that happen.

have any trouble skiing without the script, I just got real tired of
the dumb and noisy space bar hammering. If you didn't know what skiing
is in the first place or how to do it, you would never have thought
about installing a script to make it more comfortable. Nor will someone
be able to ski WITH the script, who couldn't do it before- because
skiing is really about reading the terrain.
Again, you just throw up smoke without having any apparent clue what
you're talking about. My guess is, you get your ass kicked on a regular
basis- and since your easily-bruised ego can't handle the fact that
someone else might actually have been practicing longer or more
effectively than you, you seek comfort in the thought that everyone
else must be cheating. Well, if they are using HAPPY FLAG or whatever
it is called they are, but users of fastfavourites or jump.cs
definitely are not; the difference is clear to anyone who knows
something about Tribes gameplay.

script and posted it on the net. It says that it will help you in sooo
many ways but what it does is when you use it you wont be able to move
and on your screen it will say IF YOU SUCK SO BAD YOU NEED THESE THEN

. Not to mention it deletes all the scripts youve installed!

ago... the spacebar is about 20 miles from the arrow keys I use to run
around and strafe.

I actually turned OFF the DynHUD on it, so the only benefiet is the script
support and the team bar across the bottom of the screen.
I've got a smaller HUD showing mines, grenades, beacons and the like on the
side of the screen.
Got a custom made HUD for showing what pack I'm wearing at that point in
time (thanks tech support dude, you rock, Even if most DMM's suck ;-)
Got a script installed to say "hi" to my fellow clan members when they show
up on a server.
Cowboy's FlagCapsHUD. Yeah, I like to know how long it takes me. I like
the looks when it is under 10 sec for a cap.
also got the Deploy Announce from Crunchy, which announces what I'm
deploying. I'm on D a lot, so it helps....
I got plenty of practice, and I been accused of using autoaim on servers
before. Thats a good thing, that means I'm better than most people.

While I'm probably the only freak here that uses werd to move, shifting the
movement keys over to the left side of the keyboard puts several keys in
easy reach to use for macros and whatnot, assuming you use you mouse with
your right hand. You might want to give it a try, I used to use the arrow
keys in Doom, but switched over when I started using a mouse for games.
It's much more effective (IMO)

like the inv one and skiing ones. They say that there is no autoaim sript.
Maybe not but when I get killed in Juggernaut armor with one shot from across
map something is wrong. I have also been on one mod where a guy stood there and
killed every member of my team as we spawned. Like 12 kills in 10 sec. and as
we respawned in different places, we died before we could move. I have seen and
been killed by good snipers but this was total bulls%$t. I can respect being
killed by people better than me, how else could I improve my skills other than
combat against a worthy foe, but watching this guy down people as fast as they
could spawn was incredible. 2/3 of team said screw this and dropped. I stayed
and was outgunned 4 to 1, yet the other team was bragging how good they were
and how badly I lost...oh well.

A script can't do anything for you that can't be done in tribes. I learned
to ski the hard way. I never used the script. Most people I know learned
the ways of skiing THEN got the script to save their keyboards.

Nobody EVER said autoaim/fire isn't cheating, and I really laughed at you
when reading this, jeez...do you have an autoaim script laying around?
The scripts I use are fastfavs and scripts giving me some huds, I ski
like shit, so I have a script that jumps a bit for me, giving me the
chance to focus a little bit different, but skiing is considered cheating
by some, that's why it's being toned down/removed in T2.
So stop yelling, and play the way YOU like, if you feel that my scripts
are giving me an edge, then use them yourself fuckwit! You can't get rid
of them.

scripts can't let you cheat, it is impossible to cheat with a script. some
scripts make learning a skill easier, AKA skiing or disc jumping, but they
cannot do it for you.

I challenge you to go use the disc jump script. It does work, but you use
it for half a dozen games... You'll figure out how to do it better WITHOUT
the script. or if you're too stupid (which you might be) here's the steps:
point the way you wanna go.
do a complete 180
run backwards
look down about 45deg or so
while running backwards, jump, jet and fire your disc launcher all at once.
the closer the more damage you take, but the bigger the boost you get.

B*Sides in med with energy pack (if you time it right)

I had no clue what scripts were.... Since then I've come a long way.
Know why I was taken? I play well AND for the team. I could care what my
score is. If it weren't for shifter's scoring system, I could have many
games with a - score.

Right handed, but I use the mouse (of course) to look around, and the
keyboard to navigate. Since the mouse is to the right of my keyboard, I
use the right half of the keyboard for my left hand.
So the arrow keys move me, forward, backward, strafe, and I use
right-shift to zoom, control to jump, map the deployables to the keypad,
repair kit to zero, switch weapon to one, etc.
Modifiers (shift, alt, control) respond quicker software-wise, and the
space bar has more mass so it's slower to press. (Every millisecond
counts!)
