Newsgroup gone to crap?

on in close to a year, but last couple of times I checked in, there
was nothing except the occasional spam. Anyone still playing? Anyone
got a hot new game they've moved on to? Where do all the cool kids
hang out now? I need to find a comfy newsgroup to visit again.

I've been busy. Right now I'm in Qatar waiting for a boat to take me
to a barge. Ugh.
I do miss Miracle though. :(

I've been playing my new 360 quite a bit lately. Not PC gamed in a while.
Got burned out by how badly they were treating PC gamers, releasing buggy
games, having horrible copy protection, etc. Two games in a row refused
to work due to known bugs, neither got patched. One was directly related
to the copy protection (it would run, just crash, where as cracked
versions I later found out did not have this issue, and the company
admitted what it was). After that, I switched to console gaming pretty
much exclusively. I still have Tribes, but it is the only PC game I play
anymore.
As far as what games I am playing, pretty good mix. Nothing has really
taken the place of tribes. Its just a little of this, and a little of
that. Especially now, I've just started a gaming review blog, where we go
out, find cheap games (nothing over $30), and give people a heads up.
Basically just taking my normal method of getting games (looking for fun
cheap games, and not paying so much attention to graphics). Right now
working on a new design for the site, I wanted to get it up right away so
just used a template. Figured better to have it up and generating ad
revenue to help cover costs, than to have it have it sit till I could get
one done. I'm thinking that the November Retro Review will be the
original tribes since November marks the 10th anniversary, and it is
freeware. Anyway, check it out at www.cheapbastardgamer.com

I am currently looking at all the reminders I have of her in my house:
stained glass angel, chistmas ornaments and gift tags, toy for my cat,
etc. All of these were handmade. I miss her and her christmas care
packages to me. :(

Er... well... mid last year, I decided to trip up... physically. So,

Now..? Well, I've given up traversing the UK to visit my other half, so
I've moved in with her. I now spend time ranting and waffling away to
anyone who's either bored, or suffering insomnia, in my weblog.
Gaming? I don't get much time for that now, but I did have a quick spin
with Nexuiz a couple of nights ago.

I suffered a leaky AVM and multiple aneurysms about a year ago and
haven't been able to work since. Bleeding into the brain is NOT fun.
I was just rummaging through my desk and came across a hand-decorated
post card from Miracle. It's what made me think of AGST and sticking
my head in to see if it was still humming.
Games? Still a gamer here. In my case it's actually therapeutic.

I've had since Tribes is Team Fortress 2. Any game with a "Heavy" gets
the Tribes nostalgia flowing. I'm Slackdragon on Steam. Oh, and I also
run a small corporation in Eve Online. I've been playing that pretty
steady ever since we decided to give it a try here at AGST... except
for 2005 when Katrina sent me scurrying. And a year ago when my brain
blew out. But other than that it's been pretty steady with Eve.
Oh well. That's what I've been up to. Nice to see the regular "faces".
I still have DEBig in my buddylist in Eve, though he hasn't logged on
in years.

mostly a WoW-head.
How's the daughter doing? I still remember your picture of her with the T2
"heavy wash". Considering how time flies for us old farts, I'm betting
she's in college now. Or at least driving you nuts with boyfriends.

Mine was at the base of skull. Around the cortex on the left side.
Evidently it's a pretty iffy area to have one in, because they (the
surgeons) were concerned that I would have major emotional/anger
issues after the surgery. As it stands, I'm unable to drive any longer
due to an impaired ability to judge distances and a tendency to drift
left. Go figure. I also tend to be irritated by loud sounds, people,
situations, etc.
That doesn't even touch the constant migraine headaches I go through.
And persistent, crushing fatigue.

I was on WoW for a time. Had a lvl 60 Night Elf Warrior named
Slackdragon on the Azuremyst realm. My brother was paying for the
gametime so when I hit 60 and got bored, he took control of it and
sold it to a workmate.

Ha! She's 7 now. No boyfriends. And any in the future will have to put
up with an easily irritated dad.

Holy crap. Between you and Mr. K, you could keep a medical staff busy.
Aneurysms, surprisingly, do not SOUND like fun. Although I saw a TED
talk recently that almost made it seem so. Luckily, she recovered from
her stroke fully. I obviously wish you the same, dude:

I had some news server trouble, so I haven't looked here in ages. I
basically keep a good one around to download stuff from (Popcorn Hour
A-110 ftw), and have my crappy, schizophrenic ISP one that half the time
won't accept my authentication (and the other half, does).
