thanks to all of you!

The shield battery is used to recharge your units and cannot be used to
recharge building's shields.

When your unit has taken shield damage, select them and right click on a
shield battery. This will recharge your unit's shields, depending on the
amount of energy left in the shield battery.

One of the famous strategy is rushing the enemy with a couple of Zealots + 1
peon and building a shield battery where you're about to engage a battle.
Zealots that take damange, move them back to get their shields recharge and
then move them back to the battlefield. This requires some amount of
microing.

I dont think I've ever seen anyone build one in a game, I guess it might be
good in the late game for defense if you have to really spread out over the
map.

There are lots of 'weird' strategies in the recent WCG in Seoul Korea. I saw
that strategy being used from one of XDS~Grrr (IIRC) replays.

Actually it's mostly only good in early games, later on you don't
wanna use your time microing around a shield battery, you just wanna
pour troops over the enemy :)

Very useful in defence with carriers. Keep carriers behind the front
line on HOLD orders. , when attacked by hydras/marines/goons/air they
will struggle to hit the carriers without advancing right into your
base. When your carriers take damage right click on the SB underneath
them. Near-instant repairs!!

I use it against rushes. I usually build SB in the beggining near choke
point. Then I place one zealot on the choke so that he needs to be killed to
enter. Then if I get attacked I recharge his shields and he can last a lot
longer. You can add Dragoons/Cannons as help if his got ranged units. This
can help against rushes, so if your opponent tries to rush you he's dead, if
you are any good.
