I came up with this topic because the artwork transitions from Capcom seem
to be a big factor for Street Fighter and all others. So, this week, let's
hear everyone's opinion on which of the SF games had the best artwork? Me
personally, I think the artwork for SFA2 was the best in the Alpha series,
SSF2T was the best for the SF2 series, and definitely SF3:3S was the best
for the Three series. Not only to SF, but also Darkstalkers and the
crossovers. For instance, did anyone notice that Morrigan's face looks a
lil' different than she usually does. I personally hate the artwork done
for MSHvsSF, and think that MvC had the best. Okay, let the opinions fall
where they may. :-)
I really like a lot of the Capcom vs. SNK series artwork -- on the other
hand, there's a lot of CvS/CvS2 artwork I abhor, so perhaps it evens
itself out. Alpha 2 had great artwork, and Super Street Fighter II
X/Turbo Revival's (GBA) redone art is just awesome.
I never really cared for any of the Marvel (including Marvel/Capcom
crossover) artwork, but Vampire Savior's was generally very good. Of
course, Super Gem Fighter Minimix has the best artwork evaaaaaaaaaaa! ;)

artwork in the game wise, i like SF2 WW/SF2 CE/SF2HF
and SSF2/SSF2T art. I like SNK drawn of the Capcom characters in CvS1 and 2.
pretty much i like realistic drawn characters.

I used to be a big fan of Bengus from SF Zero and Vampire but I haven't seen
much new stuff from him lately (unless he's the artist that does the Justice
series, using a different alias). Nishimura is not bad, I like her stuff in
SF3 but sometimes her work is too sketchy-looking and CvS1 and 2 have some of
her worst drawings ever. Akiman does the best stuff IMO. Both Akiman and
Nishimura did some fantastic stuff for SSF2 and SSF2X, and I think he did some
of the character designs in Kikaioh too.
