These WERE real glitches that appeared in early versions of SF2: TWW.
Shut up and pay attention before posting crap.

Hey, what's this TWW stuff? Is this another version that came out?
How is it different from Classic??? Hmmmm, if Guile has super-special
secrets, then maybe Chun Li can throw her braclets too. Do you think that
maybe Sheng Long is in there! Where can I find a TWW machine, so I
can try all this out. It sounds cool! And all this time we thought that
EGM was lying.
Wow. And to think that after all these years, Guile's glitch-moves never
appeared in this group. We sure are lucky that Ryu, the god of streetfighter,
posted them, or I may never have found out. I'm going to go rush out and
build a shrine to the god of streetfighter right now.

Um, I thought everyone knew this, but SF2:TWW stands for Street Fighter 2,
The World Warrior, which is the sub-title that appeared on the title screen
under the Street Fighter 2 logo. SF2:TWW and Classic are the same. And
as for bugs with Guile in earlier versions of Classic, Guile could do:
1) "Touch of Death" aka "invisible throw" aka "magic throw". This is
probably the most well known Guile glitch in this version. If an
opponent was jumping toward or away from Guile and was within about
an inch from him, Guile could use the magic throw to cause the other
person to go through their "being thrown" animation even if in mid-air.
Guile goes through his animation of throwing (the strong punch throw)
his opponent, while his opponent goes through the animation of being
thrown in another part of the screen. Throwing could be toward or
away from Guile, and magic throws could be repeated ad nauseum in a
corner. To perform the magic throw, charge back, then do a sonic
boom pressing both Fierce and Roundhouse simultaneously, and then
pull back on the joystick.
2) The second glitch, and the one disputed here, I suppose, is Guile's
"handcuffs" move. No, he doesn't whip out a pair of handcuffs and
slap them on his opponent's wrist, but he does freeze his opponent
completely (in the opponent's reeling backwards animation). His
opponent can no longer move or perform any type of attack and is
dragged around by Guile wherever Guile moves on the screen. If
Guile jumps, the frozen opponent follows. The opponent is stuck to
Guile until Guile performs a magic throw, which is the only way to
escape from this glitch. If time runs out, Guile will go into his
victory pose, but the opponent will still be frozen in his/her
reeling backwards animation, and you don't proceed to the next round.
The only way to rectify this situation is to turn off the machine and
turn it back on. To perform this glitch, Guile's opponent must be in
Guile's throw range (i.e. right next to him). When this requirement
is satisfied, simply perform a down-up joystick motion, pressing
Strong and Forward at the same time. Guile's opponent will be frozen
in his/her reeling backwards animation, and Guile can drag him/her
anywhere on the playing field.
3) If Guile is next to his opponent and pushes the joystick towards his
opponent and presses roundhouse, he does his upside-down kick. The
3rd glitch that Guile has is that he can freeze himself in one of
his frames where he is recovering from his upside-down kick. This
particular frame has one of Guile's legs on the ground and the other
leg parallel to the first leg, but with a knee bent upwards. In this
glitch, Guile was invulnerable to any sweep attack, but could be hit
with fireballs and with any normal high attack. Guile could escape
from this animation at any time (even after the round has ended) by
performing a flash kick. He goes immediately from his frozen stance
into a flash kick. The way to perform this glitch was to perform
a sonic boom when Guile is recovering from his upside-down kick.
4) The last bug in Classic version Guile was his ability to reset the
computer. If Guile's opponent was directly next to him, doing a
down-up joystick motion while pressing fierce and roundhouse at the
same time would cause the computer to reset. This was particularly
easy to do against Vega (using Guile's frozen stance, i.e. glitch #3).
With Guile in his frozen stance, CPU Vega would endlessly use his
roundhouse slide to knock down Guile, but because Guile is invulnerable
to low attacks in his frozen stance, the slide never hits him. Doing
a down-up motion in this situation while pressing fierce and roundhouse
simultaneously will reset the computer. You can also do the down-up
motion and press strong and forward simultaneously to successfully
perform Guile's handcuffs move (glitch #2).
Again, I don't think there was ever any argument that these glitches
existed, but perhaps there was some misunderstanding as to what TWW meant
or in the description of the glitches. For example, the original poster
described the handcuffs move "as if Guile took out a pair of handcuffs"
and slapped them on his opponent. Obviously, Guile doesn't do this, but
the way he drags his opponent around the screen LOOKS LIKE Guile's hands
and his opponent's hands are connected in some way. Hopefully, this
clears any misunderstanding.

Bravo!!!! I see that there are still some warriors left out there,
All those Guile moves are correct, and they existed at MANY locations
all over the US. The only rumors, at least I couldn't prove them,
were: Chun-li's bracelets, lightning, and Dhalsim's invisibility.
I could, however, do (10% 0f the time) a Ryu jab triple. This was
on a non-pirate, original Sf2 machine, complete with Guile glitches.
It wasn't two jabs and a DP, it was one jab and two DP's, I always
re-dizzied with it. If I was able to get one of those off, then all
I had to do was a neck kick, fierce, fierce DP and that would take
off about 73% of their energy and hardly re-dizzy. That's why I
speculate that their were Ken and Ryu, both pretty much the same
w/out any noticible difference.
If you didn't know about any of the Guile glitches, then you still
have a lot to learn about Sf2.
Sf2 is in your local arcade, where the warriors are, not in a magazine

Both the "invisible throw" and the "handcuffs" do exist on SFII: World
Warrior. YOu can also reset the game with Guile and Dhalsim. I can do
the invisible throw and the handcuffs easily now (after long hours of
practice). Anyone who knows the original game well enough (and it's
various versions, I might add), knows that these are possible.

years. The only thing he seems to be confused about is the power of T-Hawk

I was at uc berkeley this christmas. Did I ever play you? I remember some
regulars that were there every day I was there. I was playing Vega and
Balrog. There was a guy who played old Ken and did dragon punches all day,
a guy who played Fei long a lot, and a pair of asian guys who tag teamed
with Ryu. Do you know any of these guys? How do they rate on the UC
Berkeley scale of players?

Do you think we (the posters of alt.games.sf2) don't know what we are talking
about?
I've been reading and posting on this newsgroup for FOUR years. Just as
many others are as well. I've read just about every article (except when I
put Su in my kill file) posted to this group. I run the fighting game FTP
site, ftp://ftp.krl.caltech.edu/pub/fighting which originally was the SF2
FTP site. On it in /pub/fighting/sf2/other you will find guides and
articles about Classic's bugs. There's even a couple of bugs in CE (Vega's
vertical scroll on the flaming barrels and Blanka's bounce-o-rama on Vega's
stage during his electricity) and in HF (Ken gets stuck to the car doing a
jab DP on the left side).
All these bugs you describe are extremely well known (at least on this
group).
Check out ftp://ftp.krl.caltech.edu/pub/fighting/other/bugs.magic-throw

Ryu's crouching jab, jab DP was a well known redizzy 3-hit combo on
Classic (though sometimes it wouldn't redizzy). Easy to pull off and
didn't hurt that much so you could do it a couple of times before your
opponent was knocked out. :)
>That's why I
>speculate that their were Ken and Ryu, both pretty much the same
>w/out any noticible difference.
The only difference between Ken and Ryu in Classic was
in winning stance (Ken does his V and Ryu's stands with arms crossed
with the wind blowing his headband) and Ken's roundhouse/forward throw
rolled whereas Ryu's just flopped back and tossed.
>If you didn't know about any of the Guile glitches, then you still

Not really, they only occured on Classic which is a game that is four
years old now. I don't even know where I could find one anymore. Does
anyone still play Classic seriously? With the skill level of today's
players, it would come down to whoever made a mistake first as you'd
just get dizzied and redizzied until you were knocked out. Not to mention
the agonizing slow speed of the game.
>The only rumors, at least I couldn't prove them,
>were: Chun-li's bracelets, lightning, and Dhalsim's invisibility.
The only one of those that did exist was Dhalsim's invisibility, I've
done it myself on Classic.

Dhalsim:
1) Invisible Dhalsim
a) Throw a Yoga Fire by pressing forward and fierce at the
same time (yes, forward and fierce )
Notes: Same as Guile-4) This will only work on version 3 and 4.
2) Dhalsim reset the machine
a) Same as Dhalsim-1)
b) Use roundhouse instead of forward

I liked our local Sf2:Classic - only magic throw from handcuffs!
Handcuffs was interupting strong throw with razor kick which made your
opponent wiz along the screen away from you and then suddenly appear
next to you :) Reset was different too :)

And the "god of sf2" doesn't know about D's invisibility?
Read the FAQ, for crying out loud.

HA! HA! HA! HA! Only 10% of the time? Me and all the Ryu

Hey Ryu, get serious. It's not that we don't know about it,
it's the fact that this tactic is so old that nobody's talking about
it. (We used to do that 3 years ago)

Jumping Fierce, Forward, DP - Touch of Death.

If you think that any of us don't know about Guile's glitches
then you still have alot to learn about SF2.

Thats not strictly true, if I remember correctly....
If you hang around lettin ghe time run out and throw a sweep
(RoundHouse) that will hit after the time has finished (ie it has no
effect on the game outcome) Ryu will knock Ken over where-as Ken will
sweep right through an invinsible Ryu.. Which is what made most people
decide was a good reason for calling Ryu better than Ken :)
Ofcourse I might be wrong, has been too long ;)
I do remember seing SF1 about 10+ years ago and being very impressed
:)

Ken's draw game/losing pose is the same as his turn around pose,
where it has a hit reigion. But Ryu's draw pose is a differently drawn
pose which has not hit ranges, where fireballs will pass through him when
games draw. Dunno if that works on your RH instance though.
