Were you in V-ism mode? If you were, that might be why.
If not, then yes, they're still possible....but lets just say that doing
them on the Three series is easy compared to doing them on A3. Then
again, it's always been this way...when chains aren't involved.
Practice. Increase your manual dexterity. :)

hey onaje,
that's exactly what i'm talking about bro. i'm not reffering to sf3 super
cancelling. shit, i've always hated
the super cancelling idea. i mean supercombos the old-
school way. 2-in-1 style. hard and REAL. =)
i wasn't in Vmode, i was in A mode or X mode. haven't experimented with V mode
yet.
i've always been able to do the old staple supercombos.
for instance:sakura- this was my bread and butter combo with her
- cross up w/ low forward, low short, 2-in-1 into her
super DP( level 1,2,or 3 )
i haven't been able to pull this off once. for one thing, i
sometimes get her stupid new hop attack, but it's really
mostly because the game feels different.
even other basic S-combos like ryu's- low forward,
2-in-1 into shinkuhadoken aren't coming out for me.
charlie's- low short, into super somersault justice.
ken's- low forward, or short, into shinryuken.
etc. you know what i mean.
others have said they're doing supercombos, so i must
just be doing them wrong, too fast ( alpha2 style ), or
something along those lines. hmm, guess i just need to get
used to the system or something.
it just doesn't feel like they're possible to me though.
the attacks have some kind of delay or pause inbetween
them or something. it's like you have to wait for each individual move to
retract before you can execute another. that doesn't seem to allow a 2-in-1 to
come out.
( at least with some moves it feels that way )
to me, the game feels like it will only allow link supercombos to be done. not
2-in-1's.
oh well, i've only played the damn game for 2 days, so i
can't really be sure of anything about it. looks like it's back to the drawing
board with this one.
peace,
chris
Well I've noticed this too. The low forward will hit, the shinkuu-hadoken will
come out, but all of a sudden the opponent is no longer stunned and can block.
It seems rediculous to me. 2-in-1's with normal moves still work though. For
example, do a normal fireball after the low forward and it will connect, but a
super fireball won't. Don't ask me why, it seems like they have made super
moves useless in this game. And fireballs? Uh. They do so little damage it's
disgraceful. I don't even bother with them, unless I'm playing Sagat and am
trying to keep cheap ass Vega away. So I give a mighty 2-shotokans down to
Alpha 3. Bah. It sucks.
It seems like you're using a Level 1 Shinkuu Hadouken to me. If that's
the case, then yeah...it's not going to work unless you're close. Use
Level 2 or 3 if you want success.
Better yet, combo it off of a close standing fierce.

ROCKS WITH SKILL!)
Yep...Onaje's right. Lvl 1 only combos in really close off a 2in1. You
need Lvl 2 or 3 to combo a bit farther away now...or you can use X mode and
still combo about the same distance.
BTW: Is it just me or does Ryu's Lvl 3 super (ShinRyuKen --- I think, the
uppercut one) suck? The damage is pitifullm, no matter how far up or down
the opponent's meter is. Just a quicky ?.
BTW: X Gief all the way...got 69 wins in a row with him...man, does he have
PRIORITY on his moves!
Uh..practice, I guess.
I had no trouble at all doing that combo, in fact, I did it accidentally
a few times. :)
Here's a scrubby way to get that combo out, courtesy of GoodRoots:
once you are at the low short section, keep hitting low short while making
fireball motions with the stick. you can put in around three or four
low shorts before you do midare zakura, and since there's no qcf+k move
for sakura, nothing else will come out. so basically, you get two or
three shorts before the super comes out.
easy as pie. :)
This method only worked in A2. Both in SFA2G and SFA3, Sakura has that new DP
w/ kick move. If you try to spaz out a 2in1 into her SC DP, you'll most likely
get that worthless DP w/ kick move.

You both missed the main reason why it doesn't work anymore:
Sakura's standing short isn't interruptable anymore...at least...I think
that's it...or was it crouching short....hmmm......I forget....but I
know it's the same thing that happened to Chun Li.

Not totally worthless. You can air juggle pretty well with this move.

No offense Onaje, but your track record hasn't been too hot lately. :)
Sakura's Crouching Short and Standing Short are both interruptable into special
or super moves.
