Valle thought of the level of east coast competition. Since this is
California, and all
answers go through a level of Cali speak, I thought I would translate
them
into English.
Q: What does Valle think of the level of US competition?
What he said
East coast players are crap, and they did not have the knowledge to
maintain the same
level of play.
What that means
East coast players suck ass.
Q: What did Valle think of his match with Eddie Lee? What he said Valle
played the
first game to evaluate Eddie's knowledge and limits. After the first
millisecond,
Valle realized he could control the situation with any character. (He
then proceeded
to give a Magic analogy). Imagine you (Valle) are playing a sligh deck.
Your
opponent is playing another deck. The first game, you don't play pup,
flunkie, ball lightning, fireblash, and blow him out of the water in 2
secs.
You hold back so you can see his small, pathetic deck. Then you blow him
out of the water.
What that means (note, this is pretty directly said for a Californian,
thus the
meaning is quite clear). Valle was just dicking around with Eddie the
whole
game. He knew after the first round that he could finish him off
anytime. He
just played around, and didn't even care that he lost the first match.
Anyways, the view from California is that the US sucks ass, and Valle
beat the
shit out of everyone. And sorry, Henry Cen, but Valle was just messing
around the first game. After the first round, Valle knew he could win
whenever he wanted.
Don't get mad at me, I'm just the bringer of bad news :). On the other
hand,
don't get discouraged.. not all Cali players are as good as Valle :)
that's it, I just wanted to snip the entire post. Actually, Choc, I wanted
to do that to the other post but there was already replies for it so it was
too late ^_^.

Chocobo: You have failed to mention the Gulf Coast. (Remember? THe Gulf
of Mexico? Texas? Hello?) Anyone who knows something that Texas playas
are something to be reckoned with.

Heh, even if it is a humorous post, it is close to the truth, but not
EXACTLY.

Valle didn't say it. It was a parody of the post Daigo's take. It should still be
on your mail server or at least on Dejanews. Look it up. Besides, met Valle once.
Nice guy. Kinda quiet and smiles alot but wasn't rude. Kicked the crap outta my
dhalsim with V-charlie

Most tourney players are college students and have part time jobs. This takes as
much if not more time than a full time job. Excuses like "I'm too busy to travel
for a tournament." is a bullshit excuse. If you wanted to you'll find a way there.
Your on the east Coast. A fairly big tourney wouldn't be more then a couple hour
drive away. You just need to look for it. No Need to fly. No real excuse.

It's easy too say that when you watch a video but when you play it's a different
story. Prove that valle has some weaknesses. Something like when he does a low
forward-fireball he always throws a second fireball kind of weakness.Or when he's
cornered he panics.Besides both east coast and west coast players who have
personally played him have attested to his skills. Until you personally work Valle
at a tournament you can't say "I could dismantle him easily" That's just scrub talk
unless you can back it up.

Stupid West Coast Bastards (note sarcasm).

Good. In fact there are weekly Tournaments in New York City, That's not a very far
drive from Connecticut. In Fact that's a babies drive compared to some of the Cali
players who need to drive to SHGL. So prove yourself in the next couple of
tournaments and win that prize money for that plane ticket. Then when the next
tourney takes place in SHGL (february I think) You have no excuses about money
since your just gonna whoop everyone at those new york tournies.
> When I'm through, Cali's gonna be wiped off the map.
It doesn't count when you tear part of the page out of your geography book. snip
sig.
Just a question: Is "I graduate from college that day" a good excuse?
James M
If this guy comes to a SHGL tournament and beats Alex Valle I'll pay for his
trip home and give him an additional $100 for his time. I'm sure this person's
post is just a joke anyhows.

Actually, he's from Richmond Virginia. To say that he's a jobber in the SF
competitive scene wouldn't be too far off. ^_^

Actually, the tournaments are held an hour away from NYC at an arcade called
"Eight on the Break" in Dunellen, NJ. I know because I run these tournaments.
Gametime Arcade in Alexandria, VA and "The Break" are the two main arcade
sites that have been driving the East Coast SF tournament scene as of recent.
Now that Gametime is beginning to have weekly tournaments after seeing the
sucess The Break has had over the last six years, hopefully we'll see a
stronger urge from players to compete.
> > When I'm through, Cali's gonna be wiped off the map.
Damn, you should've been out in Virginia last month when Alex was out here
for the Gametime tournament. You could have had your opportunity then. Oh
well, the ECC4 is coming in the next few months and John Choi might be
showing up for it. It might not be Alex, but still an effective opponent to
stake your claim of "wiping Cali." Good luck.
