9) Zeku.
8) Chains only if they are difficult and limited, aka link.
7) Skill characters that are actually better than scrub characters if you
have skills.
6) Are you on dope or something?
5) Guy.
4) Sagat.
3) I see, you want Sheng Long _and_ Gouken.
2) An older, lesbian Sakura.

I was just wondering, which characters in SF2 would go under this
description? And what SFA characters wouldn't. I just want to get the
mindset of this base.

Isn't that the end of the SF2 movie :)?
I think so. I'm also hoping for Geki from SF(1)

I think Guy either ends up too overpowered or underpowered to be able to
remain. I don't have any complaints against Sagat.

Yeah, but you all know Ryu turns around with a big Shoryuken and the
Bud Light Truck Bison stole ends up looking like Tony Danza's van
in...what was that show called...?
Sorry, Ryu's here to stay, fellas.
Maybe Ryu DOES get hit by a bus, rather, a semi-truck and dies.

Hold on. Long throw ranges are cool but REPEAT TICKS suck. Putting the
ST throw engine in SF3 would be a grave mistake on capcom's part.
I get the feeling that capcom already knows this (ie: they were aware of
balrog, bison, dhalsim tick problems) and I'm sure as hell glad folks on
this newsgroup don't have any say on it. ST just as flawed as the next
game, FYI/IMO.

Yeah! Cool. Bigger penalty for whiffs than many GRs, too.

Good thing they got rid of "Sakura-chan;" the big surge in lubricant

I think that you are somewhat right. Even ryu's Hadoken can blow up the
bison's ship and it's block by bison already! ^_^

Let's get a real list in here, which are facts or reported by very
trustworthy sources.
10) ST-like throw range! [Die turtles]
9) 1/6 second window for the replacement 'AC', 'blocking', which
I am told is smaller than the window for a GR.
8) No Airblocking [DIE XSF scrubs].
7) No sign of chain combos [DIE you SDSU SFA scrubs].
6) No custom combos [DIE Valle]. :)
5) No Final Fight and Alpha characters for that matter.
4) Dashing [Not sure if this is good or bad]
3) No sign of Alphaesque blockstun. [Hopefully someone can
actually confirm this though]
2) The most incredible 2-D animation I've seen in a video game.
AND
1) No ACs. [DIE TURTLES, DIE!]

I want this too, or SFA range and SF2 damage.

The way it is now seems to be OK, though posssibly abusive if you
have a reaction freak.

We got our wish. Now I want to see floating in the air like ST Balrog.
>

Skill chains like Guy and Gen are OK, and can even be expanded a little
> 6) No custom combos [DIE Valle]. :)
Who in the hell WANTS those things?
> 5) No Final Fight and Alpha characters for that matter.
No.No.No. Some of Capcom's most interesting characters came from the Alpha
games. Adon,Guy,Rose,Sakura. I also want to see more freaks. Too many
normal people in SF.
>

KOF'96-style dashing with a startup lag like SS4 might work great, but I'd
experimant using this in a SFA3 game first before putting it in SF3

Rumors say that Ryu will not be in SF3. However, he will not be run over
by Bison's monster truck. The story line will be that Sakura's real
intent for her wanting to meet Ryu is that he is her long lost abandoned
father. This would explain why it seems that he has no "family".
Sakura's mother will keep Ryu busy with a lawsuit for alimony payments,
and Ryu the deadbeat dad will not be available to fight in the thrid
tournament.

What?! No air-blocking in SF3?? YES.

Hahahahahahahaha!! Let's see if SDSU still has a crowded SFA1
head-to-head, and a neglected SF3 machine. Lamers.

This list is looking better and better...

Whether it's good will depend on how interruptable it is,
I think. If it isn't fake-friendly, it'll be trash, and turtles
will eat it up.

Goodbye, Prosac.
In SF2 (as of SSF2T), the "scrub characters" (i.e. Ryu, Ken,
and Sagat -- lowest learning curves) were inferior to Balrog, M.
Bison, Vega, and Dhalsim. Akuma was the one exception; he was a
scrub character, and also the most powerful in the game.
In Alpha One, Akuma, Ryu, and Ken dominate -- especially Aku-
ma and Ken. Strictly speaking, over half the characters in Alpha
One are scrub characters, by vice of the game's play mechanics
(chain combos, cheesy slide kicks, assorted bugs, etc.). Akuma is
still a scrub character in Alpha Two, but he has to work to win;
Chun-Li is a scrub character in Alpha Two, and she ranks up with
Ryu and Ken in that game.
Please excuse any oversights, all you nitpickers.
Well, since it's a Bud Light truck, at least Bison will have lots of
water to land on, and should be ok. :)

I actually think that a Final Fight character would be good in SF3 (I know
it's too late now), but only if they patterned him "seriously" like in the
original game, and not "goofy" like they did with Sodom (especially with
the
butterfly fans")
Could you please post this san diego chair story? I only got a whiff of
it on irc.
Was it already posted? By whom? (i'll dejanews it)
Thanks,

O
That's a task for Bob, actually, Allen. He's the one who was
right there when it happened; all that I got to see was an aftermath
of policeman and fast-talking hoodlums. What Bob told me surely did
make me sorry that I missed it, though. I don't think that he's
ever publicly posted what happened.
well then why don't you play as him and do that to some one
else? or are you admitting that those fire ball throwers are that much
better than you?
Also, while it is not necessary for a single character to 'win,' I wish that
Capcom would report the Alpha and SF2 'results,' even while knowing that
they will not. Guy should win Alpha. Ryu has had a few sissy fights with
Sagat, but Guy has taken on an entire city of thugs. Also, Guy's arrogance
is more refined, more direct. His existence clearly has purpose, however
obscure or unfathomable it may be. The importance of this distinction cannot
be stressed enough. Directionless arrogance is the essense of apathy.
Apathy is the _true_ opposite of good. Evil is just a word we use to
describe our animal impulses.
And yes, I am merely raving. This happens when I run out of Dr. Pepper.
Let this be a lesson to all of you who are chemical dependent.
Vouch for that

It's good for what it's woth, but been playing Kof96 so much, too used
to dashing and jumping FB
doesn't work in ths game, ouch!

as too much throwing. =)

Actually ther ARE chain combos,I know Dudley has one. Though they ARD
harder to execute than the Alpha crap.

Huh, like custon combos suck.....

They are good for getting you where you want to go. But I've played
Kof96 so much, and am so used to dashin the jumping FBs, can't do such a
thing here, learned that the hard way...ouch!

Haven't played Alpha in a long time so I don't know, I just know I like
it better than in Alpha.

Well ther is that thing mentioned above, that move the joystick just
before your hit ACish thing, but that take skill.
