Yea, I actually did play you that day. It wasn't really that streak, ...
I've seen that same team dominate in Philly before and their strength is
pretty obvious. U had a nice run.. wouldn't have been so high if there
weren't so many people playing who really can't play (like that dude who
keeps using ARK, i mean seriously). I just didn't think Magneto would be
the one to take that team out, tho with Mag's popularity in the boston
area, I guess I'm not surprised.
I got close to beating you several times, .. I used Storm/Strider/Doom a
few times, tried a couple other teams. Try heading up tomorrow if you
can, I got my sentinel/strider/doom ready for you :)

hey, i'm gonna sound hella scrubbish here but here's what I think of ARK:
Ryu has speed and hopkicks to stay in your face, close range fireballs that
work way too well (think alpha2), big damage combos (fierce->fb->super
fb) as long as you stick to the ground, and beams to punish helpers.
Same with Akuma, plus his HK assist is way bullshit. As you undoubtedly
know, Akuma has nice damaging air combos as well. Finally, you have Ken.
You might be able to get some roll / helper trap confusion going
on (use projectile ryu). The fb landing leads to the air hurricane kick
combo followed by kick throw or another launcher. His DP assist is the
nuts. Have you seen it? It goes through all kinds of shit, such as
Doom's photons. Just like Cammy's cannon spike. All in all, ARK is
a solidly good offensive team.
IMO, of course.
Cable? Well, he shuts down mad teams of course, but let me give you
some food for thought. With Ken as pointman, I called Ryu fb assist
when i was a little closer than half screen away from Cable. He
happened to be in the air, so he did his trademark AHVB. I
responded to the super flash with Ken's fierce dp, which simply passed
through the beam and hit Cable out of it. As I said, just like Cammy's
spike. Ken also has air dp. Hmm. So. While it's easy to dismiss
the average triple pixie team in this game, when you have pixies with
nice fast invincible moves, good throws, beams, and excellent
confusions, plus some form of counter to a lot of the bigger bullshit in
the game, you have a good team...

anyone with a high speed dash, flight, and a low short that owns,
which follows into air combos that do between 60 and 100 percent,
is Good.
Oh yeah.
shoot that pussy ass jump rh cyclops down. he'll fold
after that.
peace out

Not to sink your battleship, but he used Cable/Cyclops/CapCom 3 weeks
after the game *came out*. He actually didn't use Cable/Cyclops/CapCom
after ECC. I usually play him about every other day at University
pinball, the arcade I often post here about. He's usually there every day
with Bryheem, getting their TTT fix :) Just recently I moved up to
Boston tho, so I'll have to wait until the fall to challenge him again.
At any rate, it might be a news flash to you, but that team's power
existance has been known for a while... but I suppose you'll go on to say
that everyone at ECC that uses that team from now on copied it from you.
From what people say at Goodtimes, supposedly you're the one tho wasn't
that great at the game until you went to a "big tourney" and copied
tactics from there (hmm ECC maybe?). Anyway, not shit talking, just
wanted to tell the truth.
That team's power isn't an innovative feature. *Use of that team shows you
have knowledge of the game, but doesn't show a uniqueness of any sort at
all*. My previous post on that team's power was not based on your win
streak, contrary to what you may believe.
I used a few other teams on you that also worked well, including a mirror
match. And now that Sentinel is released....
I will try to be there at 6 or 7 tonight, depends if my out
of town friend still wants to eat out for dinner.

If you want to tell the truth, first you should find out something known
as facts.
He played Cable / Commando / Cyke long before ecc5. It
was the team he picked first off, straight off the bat (I was there
when he played the game for the first time). As for Cable, what
can I say, lots of people have a Cable that looks like that.
The only Cyke/Cable/Commando team at ECC5 was Seiya's
team. How could he have possibly copied from someone
else? If he was copying tactics he would be playing Strider,
Doom, Spiral, etc.
Here's what really happened. After ECC5 Seiya went to Goodtimes
with his personal team, and beat everyone down. And in what seems to
be the new Goodtimes style, the players rationalize and make excuses
rather than admit that he is good.
> That team's power isn't an innovative feature. *Use of that team shows you
> have knowledge of the game, but doesn't show a uniqueness of any sort at

This is irrelevant. I'm certain your Sentinel is not very unique either.
So what?
I guess you're not the best in Boston anymore. AK beat you. :>
I repeat, Julien used that team 3 weeks after the game came out. It's
not innovative at all.. meaning even *I* used that team not long after
the game came out. "How is that relevant?" I'm just saying I don't know why
you think you're incredibly special just because I make a post saying that
team is tops. I know the team's potential.. you'd be surprised to see Cyclops'
potential offensively, too, not just the generic runaway game you play with
him.
And hey, I'm not making the claims here.. I know that Sentinel isn't that
crazy new, but then again *I'm not saying everyone who plays me has copied
Sent. from me there after, now am I?* That's my problem with your post..
the fact that you think just because you used that team at ECC, everyone
copied you(and that I'm giving you props just because I said that team is
good? not quite). CapCom/Cable are known to be good, that's a
no-brainer... the 3rd character can be almost any solid character or any
battery character.. Cyclops/OR/Sentinel/DrDoom all fit the bill.
I guess someday I'll have to go to Goodtimes, use Cable/CapCom/DrDoom and
lay claims that he's MY team and anyone who uses it thereafter owes me props,
eh?
And hey look at that, I didn't even go to ECC (go
ask Julien and Bryheem, they would have been my ride)... so I guess now
ANYTHING ANYBODY DOES after me at Goodtimes has picked it up from me,
*the originator*, right? heh, yea that sounds just about as reasonable.
I don't think so.
Oh yeah, and my Sentinel/Strider/Doom has already proved it's worth on
Saturday, hasn't it? Don't come claiming to me you didn't use your best
suited team, I was stuck with that team while you had a choice of whoever
you wanted :)

AK
Also the reason i didn't use my main team on you saturday
because i thought i coulda beat you with samurai/cyc/doom. But i
lost, i never played against a sentinel b4, i was going to play
my main team on you.... but u LEFT THE MACHINE when u only
played me once...... That still doesn't show you're better than
me.

I agree, Akuma/Ryu/Ken actually is a "solid" team for all the reasons you
describe. From Ken's invincible DP to Akuma's BS hurricane kick-c.
short-c.forward-hurricane kick-c.short-c.forward... they take care of
hand-to-hand combat battles well. As you know, they have quite some
problems with a lot of the BS in the game, tho (sentinel, cable, strider,
..).
I guess the scrubbish rep comes from the fact that they have been in the
SF series forever, so figuring out a good portion of their stuff is a
no-brainer(as in, "cool, look, Ryu and Ken are in this game, let's try it
out"). Cable is also scrub friendly, but at least he's new to the series

I actually just started playing at Goodtimes... just moved up to Boston.
Downtown seems to have better competition, but then again, the machines
are level 1 damage and last I checked, the highest machine was at level 49.
Kinda pixie friendly(that would explain the Cammy/Psylocke/Magneto trend
going on around here), but that's just my opinion.

: So what?
Definitely not unique. I just don't make a point out of my team being
"unique" to me. I'm sure a lot of the SHGLers who didn't make the ECC
trip have seen that team in action before.
If you're still in the Boston area, I'd be up for some games. I'm still
getting used to the rush style of play around here, but I always like to
see variety, anyways.
and I guess I'll play seiya here again, too. seeing as bitter as he is
about me leaving the game.. just I don't like seeing people introducing
themselves as cocky like that right off the bat...
