People have been asking for it so here it is. The tabs are all
screwed up because I just cut and pasted. Thanks to Ferral from who's
site I got this from ages ago.

SF3 EX Alpha
Code v3.0

Return to Fighting Spirits

(The following is adapted from Tom
Cannon's SF2 Code v2.0 which was adapted
from Julien Beasley's SF2 code v1.0
which is an adaptation from Robert A.
Hayden's Geek code v2.1).

We Street Fighter players are many. Some
of us are newbies, some of us are
masters, some are scrubs. This is my
first attempt to provide a code for fellow SF2
players to recognize each other simply,
and without undue flamage.

How to tell the world you are a SF2
player, you ask? Use the universal SF2 code.
By joining the SF2 players organization,
you have license to use this special code
that will allow you to let other
un-closeted SF2 players know who you are in a
simple, codified statement.

The single best way to announce your SF2
player status is to add your SF2 code to
your signature file and announce it far
and wide. But be careful, you may give other
SF2 players the courage to come out of
the closet. You might want to hang on to
your copy of the code in order to help
them along.

The SF2 code consists of several
categories. Each category is labeled with a letter
and some qualifiers. Go through each
category and determine which set of qualifiers
best describes you in that category. By
stringing all of these 'codes' together, you are
able to construct your overall SF2 code.
It is this single line of code that will inform
other SF2 players the world over of what
a great SF2 player you actually are.

Some of the qualifiers will very
probably not match with you exactly. Simply choose
that qualifier that MOST CLOSELY matches
you. Also, some activities described
in a specific qualifier you may not
engage in, while you do engage in others. Each
description of each qualifier describes
the wide range of activities that apply, so as
long as you match with one, you can
probably use that qualifier.

Also, pay particular attention to
case-sensitivity, there can be a big difference
between a 't' and a 'T'.

Characters Traits -
Character traits are used in a lot of
different ways in the SF Code, as you'll see later.
For now, lets just make a list of all
the characters and their codes. All Character
Traits begin with a capital letter.

The Characters -
Ry - Ryu Cl - Chun Li Dh - Dhalsim Z -
Zangief
K - Ken Bl - Blanka H - E. Honda G -
Guile
MB - M. Bison V - Vega Br - Balrog S -
Sagat
C - Cammy FL - Fei Long TH - T. Hawk DJ
- Dee Jay
Bd - Birdie A - Adon Gy - Guy Ad - Adon
Sk - Sakura Rl - Rolento Gn - Gen Ak -
Akuma
Ro - Rose D - Dan Sm - Skullo Ki - Kairi

Hk - Hokuto P - Pullum CJ - C. Jack Al -
Allen
DD - D. Dark Da - Darun BD - Blair Ga -
Garuda
Se - Sean N - Necro Du - Dudley Ax -
Alex
Or - Oro I - Ibuki E - Elena Yu - Yun
Yg - Yang

NOTE: "Special" versions of characters
are noted with a "%", i.e. Evil Ryu = %Ry,
B. Hokuto = %Hk, Shin Akuma = %Ak, etc.

NOTE: For SF3 characters, your chosen
Super Art is denoted by a Roman
Numeral in brackets after the characters
name, i.e. Oro using his second Super Art
is denoted Or[II]

Special Characters -
G - Grapplers (Zangief, Birdie, Sodom,
Darun)
ARK - The Shotokan's (Akuma, Ryu, Ken)
:P - Goofy characters (Vega, Adon,
Cammy, Skullo, etc.)

Version Symbols -
Used when a character just isn't enough
or when you want to describe a particular
genre in general.

SF1 - Street Fighter
SF2 - Street Fighter 2
SFCE - Street Fighter 2 Champions
Edition
SFHF - Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting
SSF2 - Super Street Fighter 2
SSF2T - Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo
SFA - Street Fighter Alpha
SFA2 - Street Fighter Alpha 2
SFZ2A - Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha
SFEX - Street Fighter EX
SFEX+ - Street Fighter EX Plus
SFEX+A - Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha
SF3 - Street Fighter THREE

Basic Modifiers -
The basic modifiers range from some
degree of +'s to -'s depending on how you feel
about a particular trait. Each modifier
is (of course!) trait sensitive.

Basic Modifiers as Applied to Character
Traits -
Applying a basic modifier to a character
trait describes your skill in that particular
character. Using Sagat as an example:

S-- - Don't even know Sagat's moves.
S- - Sagat scrub. Would rather play the
computer than real competition.
S - Decent Sagat player... nothing
special.
S+ - My Sagat wins most of the time
locally.
S++ - My Sagat takes John Choi 8/10
times.

!S - I don't play Sagat as a matter of
principle.
%S - My Sagat would be described as
"Cheap" by scrubs. =)

Advanced Modifiers -
You can apply advanced modifiers to any
trait in order to more fully qualify how you
feel about that trait. The advance
modifiers are: ! - Depending on context, is used to
either specify apathy about a particular
trait or an exclusion from an already existing
variable. For example, I've never played
Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha would be
!SFZ2A. If you have a good Chun Li, but
stopped playing her because of SFA2
you would use CL+(!SFA2).

@ - For variable. Said trait is not very
rigid. May change with time or with individual
interaction. For example, people who
like to give 2nd rounds, but only to scrubs
might list themselves as 2++@.

() - For explicit indicating ranges or
exceptions. If you play Ken only in Hyper
Fighting, use K(SF2HF). Someone who
thinks throwing is ultra-cheap except when
using Zan, Birdie or Sodom would list
t--(!Z,!S,!Bd) or possibly t--(!G) since
they're all grapplers. If you're mostly
a nice guy, but sometimes like to really
CRUSH your opponent, use r-(++).

> - For 'wannabe' ratings. Indicates
that while you are at one rating, you are striving
to reach another. If you're just picking
up Rolento but plan to dominate the world,
you would use Rl->++.

vs.- Used to apply a modifier to when
you're playing against another character. If
my Birdie is really bad, but I've
optimized him to kill Shotokaners, I would use
B-(++vs.ARK). If I only play Chun Li to
take out Zangief, I would list !Cl(+vs.Z).

Other Traits
Most other traits begin with a lowercase
letter (as opposed to Character traits which
all begin with capital letters). Below
is an exhaustive listing.

Variety

v-- - I've only tried once character
since SF2 first came out and have never felt the
desire for anything more.
v- - I play one character. I'm pretty
much screwed if I can't beat my opponent with
him.
v - I have a main character and a backup
character if I lose.
v+ - I play 4 or 5 characters regularly.

v++ - I play every single character.
v? - I'm still deciding who to play.
!v - The only two worth playing are Ryu
and Ken, so that's all I play.
vk - I play only cute female characters.
They're so kawai!!

Throwing

t-- - I'll slam your face on the machine
if you throw me. The last Zangief player I
fought now is now missing a testicle.
t- - I'll sac throw, or walk under
throw, but that's it. Walk up throws and/or ticks
are cheap!
t - I'll throw you if you're turtling,
but I don't go out of my way to throw.
t+ - I have no compulsions about using
repeated ticks. They win me the game, don't
they?
t++ - My name is Rasheed Rankins, or
Lord Baal. My goal in life is to throw you.
I'll throw instead of combo you when you
are dizzy, just to make a point.

Grapplers

g-- - Forget it. After 5 years and 100K,
I've given up on trying to get an SPD.
g- - I spin the joystick around like
crazy and mash on the buttons, shaking the
machine and jumping up and down. It
works more often than you think!
g - I'm a fairly average grappler. I can
SPD most of the time, I guess.
g+ - Can SPD 100% of the time. I've
spent quite a bit of time with grapplers, and I
can crush you like an empty tin can if
you blink.
g++ - Can tick into a FAB. Consistently.

Money

m-- - I still have tokens left over from
when I last played...in CE.
m- - I spend less than a dollar a week
on Street Fighter.
m - I'm restrained enough to put in one
quarter, play one game, and leave
afterwards.
m+ - I'll easily spend over $5 in one
sitting. Once I've found good competition, the
money just keeps on flowin'!
m++ - I spend over $50 a week on
streetfighter.
!m - I win enough money/tokens from
tournaments to finance my playing (so it cost
virtually nothing).
$m - I play so much, I figured it would
be more efficient to buy an SF machine.

Sheng Long (be honest!)

s-- - Have played Sheng Long. Think that
there's a hidden char called "Ariel Rave"
in XvsSF.
s- - Sheng Long is in there, it's just
no one's found him yet. EGM printed it, so it
MUST be true (d00d)! Have been called a
Sheng Lemming by Ferral.
s - Fell for the EGM trick, but realize
there's no Sheng Long.
s+ - Have doubted the existance of Sheng
Long all the time, with some lingering
doubts.
s++ - Have never believed in the
existance of "Sheng Long" as a hidden character
(and there never will be DAMNIT!).
+s+ - I am a member of the Church of
Sheng Long, and know that while Sheng isn't
playable, that he is a part of us all,
he is part of the aether that surrounds and
animates us, he is all knowing. May the
Sheng be with you!

Giving 2nd Rounds

2-- - Why should I give 2nd? The line's
long enough as it is!
2- - Will seldom give 2nd's, but only if
you ask (and maybe pay me).
2 - Doesn't really try during the 2nd
round. If you earn it,
you can have it.
2+ - Will give seconds, but makes it
look like you've earned it.
2++ - Helps scrubs by critiquing their
game during the
2nd Round and offering helpful pointers.

Tournaments

tm--:-- - Never been to a tournament :
I'm always out in 2.
tm-:- - Been to a few tournaments : I
sometimes place in the top half.
tm: - I go to tournaments about once a
month : I always place in the top half.
tm+:+ - I live in Sunnyvale / go to
weekly tournaments : Place in the top four.
tm++:++ - I go to every tournament I
can, travelling huge distances if necessary : I
always win tournaments, rarely taking
second.
$tm - I'll only compete in a tournament
if money is involved.
^tm - I organize tournaments.

Ruthlessness

r-- - I don't care whether I win or
lose. The fun is in playing the game! I make it a
point not to stay on the machine for
more than 2 turns.
r- - I'm a nice guy. I'll give second
rounds, and I'll play goofy characters even
against good players just for the fun of
it.
r - I kid around sometimes.
r+ - I use any method within the game to
win. I'll pretend to be weaker against
weaker players to 'milk' them for the
most amount of money.
r++ - I crush newbies like the girly men
they are! I like to use big combos and ticks
when they're trying to figure out
blocking!

The Net

n--:-- - I'm from AOL and don't
understand the stigma against me : I'm a total
lurker, never posted.
n-:- - I rarely read agsf2 : I post
occasionally, but don't say a whole lot.
n: - I read agsf2 when I'm bored : I've
posted a few articles
n+:+ - I read most articles on agsf2 : I
post quite a bit and the veterans recognize
me.
n++:++ - I have read every article on
agsf2 : I'm known as a net.personality on
agsf2.
n+++:+++ - I was here for the Ming/Su
wars, the discovery of combos, and before
the rgva->agsf2 split : I've met several
agsf2 net.personalities.

Obsession

o++ - SF2 is my life. I stay up at night
thinking of combos and strategies. I'm going
to marry Chun Li.
o+ - I play every day. I read SF2
fiction, and tell SF2 jokes. My friends think I'm
wierd.
o - I play occasionally, but that's
about it.
o- - I really don't have time to make
SF2 a priority.
o-- - SF2 fiction? You guys need to get
a life!
-o+ - I don't really care about the
game, but I still want to marry Chun Li.

Parrying

p-- - The slowest of moves slip past my
parry. I think the motion is too hard!
p- - I occasionally parry on accident,
but usually just spaz on the stick, and still get
smacked.
p - I can parry most of the time, but
it's not a huge part of my game plan.
p+ - Parrying into moves is my
specialty, you poke against me, you die!
p++ - Nothing touches me! I can parry
all of Ibuki's knives, Necro's magnetic
storm, and every hit of the Shinryuken!
I am GOD!

Turtling

tr--:-- - I'd rather die than turtle :
Fighting turtles makes me ill.
tr-:- - In the worst case scenario, I
will turtle : Fighting turtles bores me to tears.
tr: - I'll turtle on occasion, but it's
not my main tactic : Turtles are people too, I
guess.
tr+:+ - I turtle quite a bit, and mix in
agression when necessary : I get a sick sense of
pleasure from laying turtles on their
back.
tr++:++ - I am the turtle! I will sit
like a rock tossing Sonic Booms and Flash Kicks
until you die from boredom : I have
tuned my game for the express purpose of
hunting and killing turtles! Just try
and block! Muahahahahahaha....

Custom Combos

cc-- - They RUINED THE GAME! I don't use
them, never will.
cc- - They're cheesy, but I'll pop off a
spazzy one on occcasion.
cc - I use them for defense, but that's
about it.
cc+ - I use them a lot, both for offense
and defense. What's the big
deal?
cc++ - My name is Alex Valle. You will
be hovering above the floor
for half the match JUST for standing up.

-c+ - I use CCs, but I whine when I'm
hit with one.
