I know this is a really dumb question and I didn't want this to be my first
post after playing this really awesome game since buying it this week but it
really is annoying me that I have no idea what the hell Guile is saying before
the match starts.

It sounds to me like he's saying "ooooo I'm impressed" but I then though it was
"ew your breath." next round I heard it as "oooo get dressed" and then when I
thought he was saying "hmph who's next" I figured it's time to post this
question with the experts before I go crazy and start hearing subliminal things
the next time I play.

SO PLEASE YOU GUYS/GIRLS WHO HAVE GOOD EARS?!?! What the hell is Guile saying?

I'm not even going to get into the fact that he sounds british when he's firing
the sonic boom as lets stay at one Guile thing at a time.

Thank you. Now I can go back to playing SFA3 in peace. Now that's the Guile I
know. That is something he would say isn't it? That and go home and be a
family man but that would make him sound weird if he said that before each
match.

Thanks.. you don't know what it was liking hearing all these weird things.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought he sounded British when firing
his sonic boom. After a while of hearing that I couldn't bring myself to
use the move anymore.

This has already been answered, but here's a misquote for you:

"Yo, you fresh!" (Guile in da 'hood. ^_^;)

How about the win pose where he combs his hair? "I'm impressed."
However, here's a misquote for it:

"I'm depressed." (Why, because Charlie's not dead yet?)

So that makes 4 times Charlie has died (if you count Guiles ending in SF2 as a
Charlie being killed ending). This guy has more lives then a cat. What they
should have done is made Guile the selectable character and had him start out
on his quest against Bison in this one. But oh no.. they have to keep on
screwing around with the SF2 story. Sheesh. First they make Guile a blimey
and now they make Charlie immortal.

While I'm on the story of SF2 story mess ups (this does take place before SF2
right?)....

Why the hell would Blanka be ok with the fact that Dan is calling him Jimmy?
He didn't learn his name was Jimmy until his mother told him in SF2. And how
was he talking english in SF2 but here he only talks animal? (Ok as you can
see I just recently beat the game with Blanka and Dan too actually so it was
just a little annoying after playing SF2 so many times)

That is assuming every ending in every SF game came true. Think about it.. if
every ending came true then everyone in the tournement wins Street Fighter..
this is impossible and pretty silly. We have to assume that character endings
are "possible" endings and don't always happen. My guess is... SFA3 is like
SFA1,SFA2 and all of the SF2 games combined. It is up to the players to
figure out who wins, who looses and who dies, but we all know Charlie dies
somewhere in SFA3.

But this is assuming SF actually goes by a real storyline.. which I think is
complete bullshit. Mortal Kombat seems to be the only big fighting series that
is an on going tale.

You're almost right...you forgot Tekken and it's epic storyline. Not
sure if KOF/SS had a real storyline to it...

Yeah, KOF has the best fighting game story I've ever heard (all the
characters and their backgrounds are just so much fun).

The ongoing tale seems to come to a close in KOF 97 (cause '98 is just a
dream match).

Capcom seems to release so many variations that they muddle their
stories ^^

Haha...well, its not very clear, but here's what he's saying

At the beginning of the match when he's rolling his arm, he sez "Do,
your best"

As for the Supers, it sounds like he's saying "Sonic Xenogear" and the
other super, the Flash Kick super known as Crossfire Blitz for Charlie
sounds as if he's saying "Somersault"

Everyone else speaks clearly except Guile, he's not on the phonics tip
lately :P

get xenogear from that?! Must just have it on the mind, which is understandable

I am a Tekken fan.. and have all tekken games... I actually prefer it over SF
most of the time... reasons I dont want to get into on a SF board.
Tekken 1 and Tekken 2 obey no story. Tekken3 is the only tekken that has a
real storyline. If you read each characters stories in the first two Tekken
you would see that they obviously created them after making the game.. they are
that bad. Also, they dont make sense most of the time.
I guess you can't comment on Tekken, SS or KOF... so please dont even try.
(Didn't I say big fighters?.. SS has not been big for years)

Huh? I'm a Tekken and SF fan too but that's the first I've heard T3 only
having the real story. The first Tekken did not have a great story as it
just involved Kazuya dethroning Heihachi, but Devil was a hidden
character which suggested the set up for the future story. T1 had other
stories like why Phoenix was after Kazuya among other things. T2 was
where the stories became more solidified. Most of the fighters were in
the tournament because Kazuya had somehow affected them and his pact with
the devil was more evident. Enter Jun Kazama, a highly psychic girl who
not only sensed Kazuya's evil but the hidden pain he bears inside. This
will give rise to Jin Kazama's origins in T3. Also Michelle was there
because her nana was abducted by Kazuya who wanted Michelle's pendant
which holds the secrets to Ogre in T3. There were other side stories in
T2 like marshall Law wanting to get revenge on baek for beating up his
students or how Armor King wanted King to get back on his feet and stop
being a drunk so King could save his orphan children from being kicked
out in the streets. The T2 stories sound like good stories to me at least
and are not bad at all. T3's storyline is no greater to me than T2 (both
are good BTW). Most people think T3's story is the best because its just
been awhile for the characters to develop and half of the T1 and T2 cast
died and replaced with their successors which makes the story that much
more intriguing. The Pariah

I think T2 storyline's is too similar to T1. All they did was make up weak
bios to explain why every character from T1 reappears for a second time.
Characters like Kunimitzu, Ganryu, and Jack-2 just don't have real validity for
reappeance. And then there is Roger and Alex. I am amazed they made a movie
out of Tekken (I heard is sucked though). I know you'll respond with Gon in
T3. He can be explained as being something extra put in for the home
conversion.. not actually apart of the T3 story.
T3 has the best story, because there is actually a written beginning for it by
Namco.. opposed to just having bios. Everyone thinks T3 is the best in story
there is a story.

I think what he says during the sonic-boom super is "Sonic
Hurricane." Charlie's flash kick super is called "Somersault Justice."
Why didn't he say "Somersault Justice" in A2? He just repeated
"Somersault" for each flash kick. The Crossfire Blitz is one of
Charlie's other supers, the one where he does several rushing kicks and
punches (depending on the level). I think the name of Guile's flash
kick super combo is "Sumersault Strike," though he only calls out
"Somersault" for each flash kick. At least I think thats the case.

I can hear "Do your best" well enough at the beginning of the round,
but I want to know what Guile says in his victory poses. Is it "I'm the
best","I'm impressed," or something else entirely?

Seeing as Charlie is my second favorite character ill back up the previos post
and clarify a few things:

Charlie:
Sonic Break- sonic boom super
Crossfire Blitz- the rushing kicks/punches
Sommersualt Justice- his super Summersault Shell.. i thought it was great that
added that "Justice!" on the end of that.
as a note.. the only thing i liked about Marvel vs SF was Shadow Charlie.. i
*loved* the super he had in that game.. the level three only... "Final
Mission" they really should have added that to A3 it wasnt all that
overpowered... and it was sweet lookin.

just FYI unlike guile his 'flash-kick' is not called the Flash kick.. its
acuall name is the "Summersault Shell". Guiles, though he says "summersault"
when he does his flash kick, is still called the flash kick. And his super
flash kick is, i believe, called the Sommersalut Strike.
