On the arcade machine (not on a Saturn control pad), I use my index
finger it hit jab, thumb for short kick and middle finger for fierce
punch. You can hit all the buttons in less than a second and it comes
out relatively easily. Make sure you just tap the joystick towards the
opponent between the two jabs and the short kick, letting it recenter
itself.

Here are some ideas for Rogue (I use her a lot more than anyone
else): Use her launcher move (standing roundhouse or crouching fierce
punch) to send your opponent soaring. The screen will follow them and
you disappear off the bottom. As they come back down, do the Raging
Demon/Instant Hell Murder motions to catch them before they know what
hit 'em. Most of the time your opponent will start to block expecting
her Goodnight Sugar Super Move. Since they're blocking, it's bye-bye
time. If you're feeling very wicked, do her crouching middle punch (the
sliding elbow move), while she's in her animation frames, start the
Raging Demon move. Either they block the elbow and get hit with the
Raging Demon or the fail to block and get hit by both. Finally, if you
just want to be plain ol' mean and nasty, once you've successfully
connected with the Instant Hell Murder and you have another super
charged up and waiting, why not go into the Goodnight Sugar move while
they're lying there helplessly on the floor? There is a guy at a local
arcade here who is...well...let's say his social skills are pretty
rudimentary (tends to brag when he wins, pouts and b!tches when he loses
and joins in the game without asking), anyway I once caught his with the
Raging Demon followed by 2 Goodnight Sugars! The second one did little
if any damage, but it looked great and I practically had to change my
shorts! :)

Some SGS-equipped characters grab more easily than others. Here's the
order from easiest to hardest IMHO:
-Morrigan
-Lilith
-Akuma & "Evil" Ryu (SFA2)
-Dark Sakura
-Akuma (XSF/MSH)
-Rogue
If anybody disagrees, post your list here.

Tap toward with your fingers instead of holding the stick. The
joystick will do the recentering for you if it's tight enough.
> Is there some rhythm to do it with?
Make sure you do the entire motion at the same speed. It's probably
not necessary, but it comes out more easily if you do.

Recentering works every time for me.

About a second, I guess.

In XSF (and likely MSH too), it can be comboed into.

It depends on how many people are watching. ^_-

There is only one true tip.
You must do the motion fast to stand a chance.
Learn how to do it quickly. Each command is separate. Quickly press jab
twice, tap forward on the joystick, and then quickly press short and
then fierce and it'll come out every time.

Background on me : I have been successfully performing the Raging Demon
motion since it was a brand new concept in Darkstalkers. I presently
have written a FAQ and Appendix for Marvel Super Heroes and have earned a
good deal of respect around Georgia.

Yes. They are below.
> > Is there some rhythm to do it with?
Yes, but the rhythm has been changed over time and each engine has its
"preferred" input pattern. Generally, think of it as pressing five
SEPARATE buttons in sequence. The speed you press the buttons should be
the same speed or a little faster than the combo speed of the game. Two
jabs and a short is always a combo in Capcom games, so since you are just
starting, jump in and do that combo to your opponents, finishing it with
a fierce fireball, to acclamate your fingers to the button arrangement.
> > Can you hit short while holding forward, or do you
> > have to recenter before continuing?
Absolutely not. Once you TAP forward, let the joystick recenter as you
finish off with the SK, and FP. No way around that.
> > How long do you have to complete the motion?
I said before, think of it as five separate buttons, well, all of the
buttons are jab punches. Press the jab button on the controller 5 times
as fast and as as slow as you can to have your character throw 5
consecutive jab punches. You will see that the timing has some
fexibility, but not much.

You have to combo it. The easiest way to start is to jump in with a FP
and then start the motion if the FP connects. Ideally, I usually combo
both the jab punches, go into the Demon, and catch them cleanly as they
recover from hit stun. I also use the advance methods. Such as comboing
it from crouch jabs, dashing in with non-jab attacks and comboing it, as
well as timing it off my opponents mistakes (harder for people than it
sounds)
> > Is Dan's Raging Suicide worth it if you can finish them

Dan' Otoko Michi almost has to be air comboed. On the ground his Fierce
knocks everyone out of the grab range and it moves pretty sluggishly as
well. It is an extremely difficlut joke move and only takes a block of
energy. But that is what makes it a perfect finishing move.
> I find I can do the Raging Demon motion rather slowly and still get it
> to hit.
Cool, but it will not combo. And the motion, pioneered by Morrigan not
Akuma, is designed to be placed in combos. Do it at the speed you
normally do your chains or it will always be a flash move instead of the
utility move it is supposed to be.

Actually, a good way of "comboing" it in any game after SSF2T and
X-Men:COTA that Akuma's in is off of his standing forward. This is
mentioned in both the TZW Combo FAQ and in James Chen's XSF Combo FAQ.

Actually, learning how to do the motion fast is a good thing as well.
You might want to land it on an opponent that left themself wide open for
about half-a-second. I've countered sweeps with it before.
P.S. Morrigan, the true pioneer of the Raging Demon although her's is
called the Illusion Dance, can combo her's off of a jab in any DS....just
in case someone didn't know.
