Hey, anybody remember this move? I remember doing this on the original
SF2 game. It's something like this: Do and upside down roundhouse
kick, and then do a Flash kick or something. The game would then
freeeze up. You had to turn the machine off and then back on.

Upside down roundhouse, than do a sb before he touches the
ground. The game would not freeze up unless you did this just
before time ran out. Now if you threw somebody using his strong
throw, and did a fk before your opponent touched the
ground, the game would also freeze. Many, many more
guile tricks abound. Totally useless overall, it was something
to do when the game became boring.

Wasn't there also the "Guile Shutdown" aka "Guile Blackout"?
Something you could do as Guile would make the game reset IIRC.

Guile was the best!!!

You can do lots of tricks with him.

Shut off the game by throwing with strong and right before they touch the ground, sonickick.
This is great in the second/ third round when you know you are going to get killed, just cheap
throw him and shut off the game and walk away since you are going to lose anyway. If the game
doesn't shut off then its a different version. In the version that doesn't shut off when you do
the strong throw/sonickick then you can do walking sonic kick. After the strong throw/sonickick
press jab once, I forgot if you have to knell or not but after you can walk back and forth
fighting regularly, but as soon as you press a kick button it sonickick automaticly.

You can also glue the other player to you by kneel next to them(make sure you are charged for
the sonickick) and then throw him with the friece button and sonic kick at the same time. It's a
little tricky. This will cause the other player to be stuck to you. No one can hit eachother but
you, guile, can move around. To get out of it is harder. You have to do the "invisible throw".

To do the invisible throw is one of the hardest tricks to master IMO. To do it, you have to
sonicboom with the both friece and roundhouse. But instead of back, forward, friece&roundhouse,
You have to back, forward, back, friece&roundhouse. This move will throw the other player at any
time, even if he is across the screen! Guile will go through the motion of a strong throw but
not holding anybody. The other player with just fall. If you can master this you can beat
anyone. You have to time it just right. You can throw them even when they are on the floor!

If you use Dalhsim(sp?) you can turn your self invisble too! But that can wait!

It's the upside down roundhouse then the sonic boom (immediately). It
doesn't freeze up the game. Just do a crescent kick and you'll
de-freeze yourself.

Yeah, my friend from Canada did that one. I saw it, but that was like
4 years ago, and I have no idea on how it's done.

You don't have to kneel. Pressing the kick button automatically sonic kicks.

No, using the Fierce button is the shutoff. Do handcuff the other
character, you use the strong throw.

No you don't. You can just do the Fierce and Roundhouse at the forward
position. Where you position the joystick just determines where you
throw the opponent.

>will throw the other player at any
>time, even if he is across the screen!

No, you have to be at a distance where Guile's standing Fierce is an
uppercut (not the straight-up punch - the one that looks like Ryu/Ken's
Strong Punch in Alpha). Once you do the first invisible throw, you can
continue infinitely until they're dead. You *can* throw them from across
the screen after the first throw, but not "at any time".

Hell, in Classic, if you got Guile first you can beat anyone! :P
Actually, although it's possible to beat him, it was so much of a
mismatch it wasn't even funny...

Y'know, I *hate* editing lines that are too long. Do something about
that, will ya?

Actually, I've got a big FAQ with all of the hidden moves if anyone wants
them. Just mail me.

BTW, as for Guile beating everyone in SF2, unless you do the invisible
throw - Chun Li can kick his ass. You can counter the flash kick (or any
other air counter he has) every time with her forward or short jumpkick.
Once you put Guile in the corner with Chun Li, unless you can invisible
throw - the match is over.

There are many bugs in SF2.
Guile :
Bug 1: (Throw)
Charge 4 ,then 6 + HP & HK (MP & HK) .
or Charge 4 ,then 6 , 4 + HP & HK (MP & HK) .
( There are two different direction when you throw .)

Bug 2: (Guile Freeze)
4 + HK ,then do a sonic boom.
(Do somersault or be hit by the opponent to relieve the bug.)

Bug 3: (Freeze the opponent)
1 + MP throw , then 8 + K (somersault kick).
or when the opponent is very close to you , do charge 2,then 8 + HP &HK.
(use bug 1 to relieve the bug , or you will shutdown when time is
up.)

I just love reading all these geeky posts about amazing things these
people obviously have never really understood or played to any advantage.

I do hope you aren't refering to those enormous threads of "Invisble
Dhalsim beats `perfect' magic throwning Guile?" :)

Some people just continually show off there inadequasies.

Tom the indefetigable.

Right...It was down-forward, then up-back, then middle-punch +
middle-kick right afterward for the original SFII...

Are you kidding? The only one who stands a chance at SF2 Guile is
Dhalsim. Guile kills Chun Li. Guile can trap HER in the corner. Sonic boom
from medium range, if she jumps, walk under and throw her back into the
corner. If she blocks, walk up and tap her, charge again, and sonic boom
again. About her kicks going through the flash kick, that only works if
Guile does the roundhouse flash kick or mistimes a flash kick. If he
waits til the last second and uses short, it hits any air move.
